Why Nerf Chars? Here's my idea instead...

Make more level 30 skills powerful, in fact, make a lot of skills powerful once properly invested so that you create a ton of different builds that have awesome killing power.

Here's the catch, make character defense a lot more vulnerable. For example, your sanctuary doesn't leech back as much life, or make monsters do a lot more damage.

I am currently playing in SP with practically no gear, thus inadvertantly trigger the above effect (in p1 of course). And man, is it fun! Danger around the corner, have to play not like a douche because gears can no longer help. You kill stuff really fast, but you are also killed... really fast!

I mean, for years... I just run through Hell Mode wearing my GG gears and play essentially like a douche. (I have tried all the uber builds; from burizon09 to light sorc/hammer10) And even with those cookie cutter builds, you know what I am most afraid of? The souls... the dolls... all the rediculously strong attack monsters that won't allow me to enigma into a situatin and spam hammer.

Kill fast, or be killed fast... isn't that what fun is really about? I mean, what's the point of trying to bump usage rates of various characters with every single patch change? Why force people to spend 15 min to try to kill a monster? (okay, that doesn't really happen... except my SP sorc in p8 again any boss)

So I ask... why nerf chars? Just make the fights more jazzy... more exciting... omg the charging serpent, hell... let a lot more monsters cast IM.

Let both sides have a fair chance to kill each another. Those 5000 life barbs think they can run through hell naked? Punish them! The sorbers/ss? Mix the monsters up! Let monsters have the ability to one hit KO you too, and mix up the random effects they do. Man, will this be super annoying? You bet! But will it be super fun? Why not!

Let's make this game fun! Let's make it fast and furious!

Drift style

And pray tell, what might this 'nerfing' that you speak of be?

Maybe I am missing the point of your question...

By not nerfing, I mean let's bring back all the uber builds like burizon, pierce guided, (*wawa this won't be fair in pvp... well the game has a crap pvp systerm anyways) hdin with no cap (as in 13), orb/waller09...

make psn do like gazillion dmg per sec... make holy shock like uber cool and strong...

but let's nerf defense! your defense now protects at 10% capacity. Your armor breaks a lot more frequent, your prayer, sanctuary, whatever doesn't heal as well... your pot takes longer to reach full effect... your leech is now even less... "leechy"

Please do not petition to turn D2 into a cheap Western-style game.

Shoot first or die... wtf?

I thought you meant there are character and skill nerfs now in 1.13 ... as you went 'Why Nerf chars? My idea instead' ... thats how I understood it... didnt know you were talking about older nerfs.

Mmmm personally I dont like your ideas one bit, sorry, and btw I do think the game does have a pretty amazing PvP system, I really find it to my liking.

BTW, poison is a powerful element as it is now, especially pure poison builds in PvP. They did increase the base poison nova damage I noticed, which will make it more of a huge 6k+ life druid and barbarian killer in PvP than it ever was, assuming you got good gear and manage to get that nova in.

Also Holy Shock is powerful too, especailly if they dont remove the trade window stack bug.

That's exactly what I want it to be!! The world first RPG that's designed that way (well... at least that I played)

Okay, so the idea is not going to appease everyone, but I like fast and hard action. I honestly find doing the same thing over and over again really boring.

And why not a western game? Last I check, Vivendi is owned by a western company, not something else...

Oh well, they never going to make the patch this way, just figure I throw the idea out there to see if it resonate any.

I think you are trolling. :xxx:
Truth be told, the pvp system is broken and i do not think you really can have very solid pvp system for game such as diablo.

how am I trolling when I talk about an idea for the game? The fact that you come in here, didn't even state whether you agree with what I said or not, and just tell me that I am trolling? You, my friend... are trolling.

I don't think rocket tag should be a component of any game.

Considering that D2 essentially pits a single player against entire hordes of foes, this means that you cannot afford to be unlucky even once, while the enemies only need to get lucky once. Eventually, probability has to kick in and the player craps, usually through no fault of his/her own. Heck, it is like reducing combat to a coin toss between both sides.

Maybe you find it fun, but I don't think the majority of the D2 gaming community would share your sentiments. Players should have the opportunity to react to any given situation with adequate time and resources. If if they get hit, they should have sufficient time to heal/flee/TP/quit. And the thing here is they should be able to be afforded to get hit, so no insta-kill foes either (which basically makes a mockery of the concepts of hp/resists).
