Which type of druid is most viable for PVP?

Been gone from D2 for awhile and was wondering what type of druid would be the most viable. I would rather not play a windy though :wink3: . Any input is appreciated

If not a ele druid i would go for a Fury / rabie wolf if your gonna go the shapeshifting route.

fury / rabie wolf is basically more versatile then pure fury wolf and pure rabies wolves.

you can get a nice amount of rabies and still retain decent fury damage , i would read electric blues guide just for the stats , attack speed and fhr break points and stoutes guide for some gear suggestions.

Molten Boulder druid by far is the best... both speed and power. It makes me mad when people don't mention it : /

Fury/Rabies for versatility or Windy for the classic cookie-cutter, but we all know who really comes out on top...FIRECLAWS FTW!!!

Fury/rabies and fireclaws suffer from the lack of mobility that teleport provides: thus, if you want to compete in hell pubbies with relative ease, a windy is a good choice.

This is the conclusion I've arrived that - that mobility = god, and without it you just can't survive FFA, forget about killing anyone. Now I've never -made- a wind druid with gear as ghetto as my rabies druids' but to me it seems that for equal cost, caster>>pure melee... (Charging, teleporting melee aside.)

Sorry to say rabies is pretty lame...
We all say let's be unique, let's not be hammers/ smiters. But all I see is a pack of Kiba clones running around...
I mean, I join pubs and its all little "unique" kids all trying to rabies me. Then when they succeed while I'm dueling someone else, all i hear is "Hahaha, owned, didn't think poison did that, huh? Hahahahaha"
*anger*
Has Kiba accidentally killed the true uniqueness of the druid? =O

Forgive me if I'm out of line, I'm quite sick and drowsy from Nyquill. I apologize in advance.

does anybody make bears anymore? I always wanted to make one but nowadays I don't have two shaels to rub together

But no for real guys - a fire druid > shifter all day long, but a shifter > windy.

as to the kiba thing, there were plenty of people doing it 2 years before him. give him credit for being a rock star and drawing interest but the credit for the originations comes from other people.

no offense but Stoutewolf deserves a lot, if not most of the credit in all fairness, that build is his to claim, Kiba just made it look good...like Will Smith : )

Other people may have modified it to their liking--I mean, I changed fireclaw around to my taste too, but I never woulda started if it weren't for players like Cold Army.

thoughts...
I'd say in general pubs, you'll have a pretty good shot owning with fireclaw too vs most players. With 9xShapers and lvl 42 Fireclaw I can dish out an ez 17-18k now (unless I need anghellics) with lvl 23 enchant, of course. For instance, max resists isn't good enough to not get owned at that level, they have to pretty much increase their resists+sorb or they'll still die 'cause you swing way too fast and powerful for most char's to take... especially windies, as soon as cyclone goes even with max resists, they're dead.
Also, I joined a Shaper duel with 3 other wolves with ebotd/ss today, and even though I had nearly 6-8 levels on them, at 75 resist they still got owned big time, so unless they decide to go all bm you still have a good shot : )
And yeah, I realize there's a lot of people who'd go "I'ma just get my infernos and sorb etc" to pwn me, but on the other hand I sorta enjoy seeing how far people have to keep going to win... it makes me happy when they have to keep running back to the stash to add more ><

yah i agree with jary , fireclaw shapers can dish out some mad damage and are even a rarer sight then regular fury or fury/rabie wolves.

I might make one eventually for the fun of it , but it be a fc wolf ofc! =)

I play in East also, and any "Kiba clone" I've ever dueled has been a piece of cake... Heck, even my old ebotdz fury wolf druid could beat the majority of them... Just think of how badly my real characters take them out...

(Not saying Kiba wasn't good, he was great from what I've seen. Just stating that I've never dueled any rabies/fury druids that were actually a challenge.)

Awrooooo , 100% true what you just said , finding a werewolf that knows what he is doin as in knowin his attack , fhr break points and so forth are rare to stumble upon in duel games.

Thats thing bout werewolf most try it and dont wanna go the distance too make there wolf at least be somewhat competent , i consider my werewolf decent but not a 1337 mean killin machine. , i pretend im a wolf chasin down prey and takes oppurtunities too kill sick(chars that are weak vs werewolf) animals.

Werewolf is a character that takes a lot of time too get you use too and enjoy , only reason i love the werewolf is because i love wolves.

You also have too accept the fact that you will die a lot but! the satisfaction of pkin people who look at you as insignificant , weak, ez, etc increases ten fold.

you have to realize bnet is full or 10 year old retards, which is probably one of the reasons i quit.

And to continue saying this:

Fire elemental druids are the best all out public druid duelers.

Fury druids are amazing at melee only league duels. Of coruse in the past 6 months or so I have seen battle net degenerate into one big public duel, where even people on diinet discuss PvP rules as being "there are no rules just go and beat people with whatever character is the best." It's good to see the blue druid league starting up, because it promotes mannered duels in a relaxed environment. Seriously, something like palapk or druidpk or PN or gimmeitam or something, SOMETHING needs to be created to solve this problem.

until then, make a fire ele.

Sorry about that rant guys, I guess what I meant was lots of little kids saw Kiba's videos and... whatever doesn't even matter.

Yea, a fire druid would be cool. However, I only remember seeing two on east, and they were basically town lamers. Have fun with whatever you decide to make.

=D

Sorry, but this one made me laugh!

My experience tells me that FC bears dish out heavy damage and have quite high life. Also, nobody expects you to dish out massive FIRE damage.
