Okay, I started playing D2 in ernest again about 4 weeks ago. Right now i have...

Shako
Tals ammy
Tals armor
Occy
Lidless
Raven Frost
Nagel
Tals belt
War Travs
Chancies/Magefists

ali baba and some 20% MF shield in switch.

I can get some good stuff from hell meph, who i can kill pretty easy with meteor...

BUT

i can hardly kill anything else in hell. Where should i go to get good stuff? Hell meph doesn't drop everything does he? Also, Countess runs aren't possible cuz i'm fire/cold and the countess is always fire/cold immune.

so now that i have a decent sorc, where do i go from here? I can get some stuff and trade for mediocre stuff for other chars, but i don't know how to get goldy runes and all. i'm lost. :rant:

i use a act 2 merc to take out the countess.try pindle skin?betwen him and meph i think they drop everything in the game.just have to be patient

Try the ancient tunnels in act 2. Its a level 85 treasure area (anything in the game can drop here) with few cold and fire immunes.

First, most of the goldy runes are DUPED, which means that your chances of finding them are rare. After 4 long years of diablo II, I have yet to find any rune above a Gul. Although I had my share of ists, its very rare to find some of the higher runes. Then if you think about it, meph pretty much drops all the usefull things in the game. Although he can't drop Death Fanthom, and Tyreal's Might (the only 2 items he can't drop that are worth LOTS), he can drop pretty much anything else usefull. So if you think about it, mephing is actually a pretty good idea ^_^. GL with your sorceress.

If you really want to get some runes make a fury zon and run hell cows... this mass killing is the best way to find runes... the more deaths the better. With my fury zon I have found ber, lo, and vex, along with other runes below vex. I think that I am luckier than most with this, but it is still most likely the best way to find runes.
