What's the point of the test realm?

Ok so they made some changes in V1.13, but I seriously still don't see a need for a test realm :scratchchin:

On a side note ... You wont believe the amount of people who still steal your gold when they pk you, even on the PTR with endless gold cheat. I guess its an automatic response or else its really just a humiliating / enraging / screw up your psyche kind of thing to do that these people get off on, because they really do not need the gold now.

The PTR is there to see if the new changes have bugs or cause bugs.

For instance, the respec reward from the den has a bug if you move from normal to NM to hell without disconnecting, Akara will have the reset skill/stats option without doing the den quest. And it won't do anything if you click it before you actually do the quest.

Iirc, you get four respecs / char (apart from those granted by Tokens), one of which is awarded simply for reaching Hell. Are you sure it doesn't do anything?

I steal the gold because its shiny... Not like you are going to need it anyway.
I wish blizz would make so the body part that fell would be random. it would make the killing people much more fun. (Just imagine a inventory filled with paladin penises. or sorc legs. I'd love me some of those legs xD)

On the PTR, no. Without the endless gold, there are expensive item repairs and gambling characters that also happen to be PVP characters. Its just very bad mannered. Its also very frustrating to run out of mana pots in duels cuz everyone stole your gold. If you dueled before you should know what I'm talking about.

Well, I havent dueled before, but I can imagine. Still, to the victor, the spoils. If you dont like it, duel with friends.
I would do the stealing if I dueled, just to annoy other people. (and then again I only play Hc so he/she definitly wouldnt need it) Im lovable like that

Not sure about you guys, but I had no motivation to play PTR (quitted my other server chars too). I went in and noticed people getting Tal Set, Enigma etc etc, I wonder why would anyone want to actually spend so much time on a test realm BUT sad to say I was drastically disappointed with the new patch.

So they added a few minor skill tweaks and respecs, but it wasn't really what I was looking forward to.

Anyway I think Blizzard mentioned that the patch isn't finalised, so maybe this is an incomplete patch? Maybe that's why they wanted a test realm, to test out more changes.

I very much doubt that the purpose of the test realm is for anything else other than bug spotting + fixing.
Though it would be a nice surprise to get new runewords, uniques or uber quests... but I wouldnt count on it.
