Bit of a slog today at Trav, but this nice GC cheered me up some. I see it pleasing my neglected strafer at some point.

Not exactly good, but in the realm of interesting, I just got three gheeds in three games. Two from travi, one from diablo. One of them turned out to be 122/40/14 so that's cool.

Guardians Angel + Rainbow Facet. Both items dropped at hell Diablo in the same run.

Edit: I just found a pair of LoH. Will most likely be used with my uber-barb. Awesome!

I haven't much of anything for many days. Of course, I find all sorts of items that I'm sure a lot of people here would be ecstatic about... 5% bk, 15%ed 3os Breast Plate, 15% wisp projector, 2x 4os Eth Threshers, some ohms, some vexes, a Lo, etc... but honestly, it's nothing exciting.

I'm pretty sure the game realizes that it gave me a godly druid pelt that I showed earlier and is cutting me off at this point.
 
M'avina's bow and Stormlash, two items I had never found before and both from the pits.

It's not worth anything. You can use it if you have nothing better, but it's worthless to sell.

Diabloplayer, when judging any item, you want to figure out how rare it is - how often it generates in comparison to something else. If a charm can have 3max damage, 20 ar and 20 life, then a basic 21 ar charm by comparison is worth very little or nothing at all.

If a skullder's drops and it's possible to get an ethereal one, then a basic one is likely worth very little.

If an item is a set or unique, and it has no varying mods at all, then it's also likely to be worth nothing either (highlords wrath, cat's eye, shako, tal's mask, laying on hands, etc.)

In Diablo 2, the whole game is centered around rare items - how often something drops. The less likely it drops over long periods of time and the more useful it is, the more it is worth.

In this game, expect to find 1 good item every few weeks. If you are finding more than that, then one of two things are basically true:

1) The items you are finding are not rare
2) You have a horseshoe up your ***

Today, I had a better day. I found a vex, sur and zod (meh, who cares). But I also crafted this, which is rather nice. I only wish it had 10fcr instead of 9. I'd still use it over maras on a hammerdin anyway.

Not correct, Highlords is worth at least 1-2 HRs on NL, shako have trade value as well. You are misinforming people again.

Sigh... do you know how many HRs, Shakos and Highlords are in existence? I am not misinforming anyone. This stuff is all junk. I'm going to just stop, as you clearly overvalue a single HR on non-ladder.

1 HR isn't going to buy you anything special on non-ladder. No good rare rings, rare amulets, 5nado helms, crafted caster boots, or anything of actual real value.

What you fail to understand is the concept of "purchasing power". A HR's purchasing power on NL is way disproportionate to what it is on ladder - and it's not even "all that" on ladder either. I suggest you learn about economics and the concept of purchasing power. High Runes resemble the US Dollar for example. Learn how central banks have inflated the US Dollar over the last 100 years - especially after the 1970's - and compare/contrast that with the value of High runes. There are amazing parallels.

For you, yes, it may be junk. For people who just started, these items are valuable. I have a friend who can barely even afford a full tals set, so for him, a couple of HRs is a decent gift.
