What happens after the beta test?

After a break of over a year I intend to start playing D2 again - on the 1.13 test server.

My questions:
- How long will the testing last?
- What happens to my characters and gear afterwards? Will it be transfered to a permanent realm?

I'd hate to do a lot of MFing only to lose everything a few weeks later ...

Testing will last till they're finished debugging the patch, so anywhere from a few days to weeks

And nothing transfers over, so dont invest anything in your PTR char except for fun.

lol. i made a spearzon today using fend and a bunch of gambled gear. was kinda fun..lol. played a lot like a zealot but with a lot more damage.
