Werebear

well im planning a on werebear to try and hit lvl 99. doubt it'll happen but it should be fun, for awhile anyway. shifted druids are probably my favourite character and seeing as i havent made a 1.10 bear yet. i thought this would be the perfect opportunity.
Helmet= Jalal's mane, um'ed
Body Armour= Guardian angel, um'd, possibly up'd
Shield= Stormshield, pdiamond'd
Weapon= Stormlash, shael'd only need 20% WIAS to hit 10FPA from 14 FPA
Belt= tgods for gloams. nosferatu's coil hits 9FPA
gloves= laying of hands
boots= goreriders
amulet= rare +2 druid skills, mana leech, resist all or metalgrid. probably grid
rings= ravenfrost and dual leech, with big +fire and light res

charms= light & fire resists. life. ar, max. +skill

skills
20 HoW
20 Maul
20 Werebear
20 Lycanthropy
1 Carrion vine
1 Grizzly
1+ shockwave

HoW will be maxed last of the skills. but depending on how much AR and damage i have could be replaced with Oak Sage.

stats=
str 120 or 131 depending on whether i find the runes to up the guardian angel
dex= max block
vit= rest

let me know what you think. oh and hopefully you can vote on teh poill im trying to create. gg pollzor noob

I wouldn't recommend a bear to try and get it all the way to 99. After a while they can get tedious to play (mine is still sitting in A1 Hell 1.09... and it's been 4 months) and lacking any aoe skills to kill many and quickly lvling will be even slower at the end.
Having said that, they do look cool, and your skill plan sounds perfect. For 1.09 anyway, dunno about 1.10 bears :D

Build seems viable. I'm a big nub when it comes to gear, however.

I don't know your playing styles, and commitment, so I voted 'durf, beer, boobies and poing will stop me'

Good luck anyways :thumbsup:

The 1.10 physical-based weredruids aren't any different than that of 1.09 ones. The only problem is that there's not a good way to deal with physical immunes unless you're partying up.

You could try one of those firebears and exploit the Stone runeword in the process. Pack lots of shapeshifting charms and your fire claws will tear through hell's minions blazingly fast. Furthermore, you'll laugh in the face of Iron Maiden because your physical damage is (or should be) less than 200.

Hey Corax,

Seems everyone is giving it a whirl......

I voted you'd get to 90+, I've got an Aldurs fire claw Druid and was very happy to pat and then promptly retire him, though he ripped through anything that wasn't fire immune.

Good luck on the quest.

P.s. Thanks for the Tar......

I voted 90+ because, if you really try it, you will get extremely bored by level 90~92. He is not a mass murderer.

Anyway, I don't know if you played a Maul bear before. Go full damage all the way. And Shockwave is amazing. I say, get your lycanthropy and Shockwave to 5, max WB, Maul and HoW, and then, max SW. Lyc is last.

Might Merc, and 2-handed if possible. You don't need a shield when every monster has swirling stars over their heads for 30+ seconds. you need, instead, the heaviest stick you can find.

BTW, I did it with 2-shaeled all-but-helm IK set. PI was never a problem.

hmmm. it would appear that with a 3 shael'd tomb reaver im on the 10FPA BP and doing twice the damage. but then i lose static and lots of CB.
or is there something else better?

I reckon you'll make the mid 90's but probably not to 95. I used a 'shaeled' Cranium Basher on my WB. CB+Gores+blood craft gloves = 100% Crushing blow. (Well 95% since thats the cap) It's not the quickest weapon in the world but the amp is nice and so are the all resists. By the way, slap a reapers toll on your merc and that will break a lot of the Physical immunities. Unfortunately it'll override the amp as well though if you use a Cranium Basher.

I think you will pat the bear (get it? :lol: ) and make it to 80+. As I am not sure if you have any crowd control, that'll be the end of the line for ol' Rusty.

Have fun, though!

Dave :teeth:

I gave it 90+ because 90 isnt all that bad to achieve, to get to 95 though is hell. GLuck M8, youll need it.

This is the set up I would go for if I was you corax. I myself have patted a 1.10 werebear using ik set (no armor though) with a 2 shaeled maul. It hits 8fpa I think and gives you tons of elemental damage for any pi. In my eyes that aren't many other wpns that hit this fast and powerful and with shockwave you don't need a shield. Plus it's worked for atleast 2 of us so why wouldn't it work for you :flip: .

edit: forgot to mention I voted for 90+, any higher than 91 or 92 is extremely tedious and boring if you ask me so that's where you will probably stop.

If you play in our destroyer party frequently, you will make it at least to lvl 95! :thumbsup: *vote*

I vote 90+, thats not difficult to reach. I think the werebear will have trouble doing experience runs alone, so you would be party dependent and therefore not get enough runs in to be able to get to 95.
99 is insane, forget about that.

went for 90+ too.... that's the easy part.

After that you will really need to do wsk runs and every iron maiden death will frustrate you to no end after a while if you try to reach the next lvl... and a death or two you will suffer...
if not from iron maiden then from some nasty convinction gloam filled chamber you stumble upon or whatever

I'll vote 99, because I believe you've got the time, and you're stubborn enough to spite us all and do it! :thumbsup:

I have faith in you. You can make 90+. reach lvl90 isn't too hard. anywhere over 90 is "impossible" unless you have uber fast killer.

I'm 100% n00b on the build, but it looks good. GA is an amazing armor, SS is the best shield, you got both, which should make your build very safe.

However, I have an advice, watch out poison damage, you can have less cold resist (raven frost helps a bit), but low poison resist will kill you. My thrower barb now reached 90% resist all, still poison hurt a lot. especially you will go melee, you need max (90%) poison resist. My thrower (and my sword barb) can laugh at all fire/cold damages and almost all lightning damages (few times, gloams damage seems really bad), but not at poison even they have 90% resist!!!

i dont understand the way the badguys deal psn dmg. havent 90 res seems to make little difference to having -90 to me. i intend to carry a few antitodes in my cube incase of emergencies. :lol: if i do suffer alot i can shuffle my gear around a little.
im not a very big fan of SS, this will be my first time actually using it though, it doesnt have enough resists.
i dont think i will have problems with gloams unless i hit a conviction boss pack. 95% resist and the tgod abosrb. +20 IIRC should see me through
