Upgrading the Witchwild String

Guys,

I have start playing with my druid, and i following the hunter way.
I have the witchwild string, what happens if i upgrade this bow?
What does get better and how much??
And if you guys think it is worth doing, if this get the bow that much better?

Well, the number of sockets and the resist all doesn't increase obviously (would be cool though, get 4 sockets after upgrading!!1!!) but the damage goes from (32-35)-(75-81) for the original bow to (82-89)-(100-108) after upgrading, which looks actually quite good.

Requirements go from 65 STR / 80 DEX to 89 STR / 132 DEX though, so that might be a problem. (Or not, I have no idea how you built your druid :D )

Same as the with the armor, only the base item gets upgraded.
Since the base item is short siege bow(13-30) it will be upgraded to diamond bow(33-40)
Using basic calculations(the actual damage will be 1-2 higher) 160% ed I get:
Min 33*2.6= 86
Max 40*2.6= 104
-> 86-104

Requirements will rise too: new requirements should be strength 89 dexterity 132 and level requirement 46.

Hope this helps.

edit: Too slow, good job Pitboss!

Ofcourse it will make a difference, the minimum damage for the upgraded bow is higher than the maximum damage for the non-upgraded bow. Requirements go up quite a bit though, so I don't know if you'll be able to use the bow, since you need 50 extra dexterity.

It will cost you a Lum and Pul rune, I don't know if you have any of those, and are willing to give them up. According to the Trade Value forum, you can get a Widowmaker for 0,5 Um, which is the same as Pul. (I don't know which one is better, I've never used a bow in my entire D2-life)

I'd definitely go for the Widowmaker over the WWS for a hunter. GA is auto-hit, so you don't need to worry about AR.

As a hunter he should have over250 dex minimum....I prefer over 300 so the requirements should not be a probem.
