Ultimate lvl 9 and lvl 18 pk setup

It sucks for pking, but very good at pkking and dueling. And in my opinion, if you can afford one with good jewels/charms, then yes, it IS better than a kicksin, though kickers are more price effective, being only a little less effective for a much cheaper price.

Exactly right about the kickers. You can build a reasonably effective one very cheaply.

For expensive building tho there just isnt a really effective way to up the damage from kick since max dam jeweles dont work with it and niether does crit strike.

What does work with kicks is Crushing blow. The best way I've found to get CB on a low (under level 15) char is to use clegs full set but then blocking is crappy. Still I probobly find 1.5 full clegs sets for every good max damage jewel I find.

Still the actualy kick damage is low and I'm not sure 30% CB is even worth it and I have low blocking so this char will likely die to a well built charger or anything else that can deliver a really big shot. The jabber on the other hand will have perfect block plus the passive evasive skills = ownage.

the kicker might be a little beter for pking becuase of burst of speed to help catch up to people tho

any pally that dies fast to an 18 jabber is either extremely unlucky or just plain sucks. I'd go with #2 99.99% of the time. 1st off a jabber gets 3 hits per attack if the target stays in range a good pally won't. 2nd off 18's pking in sewers are too pathetic to be considered any good. I can out hit any jabber at the same lvl with a pally at same attack speed but 5 attacks instead of 3 with zeal. For a dueling pally chargers suck if you can't 1 hit people since a lot chicken and landing 2 blows from a nice charge lock is rare. However a good amping zealot or critical one with clegs can really hack away at opponents life fast. Basically killing opponents isn't highly likely with pots and chicken around.
The basic way to kill the lame mhing chicken newbs is simple. Get a high dmg 2 handed wpn. Make a charger with terrible gear showing go out switch to your nice wpn and bam 1 hit ko. Especially works well with loot dueling use no charms and bam their crappy 40 max mask and stuff is yours.
My opinion on killing pkers is use something lower which makes it more embarrasing. I can't recall how many pkers have gotten punked out by a lower lvl and then cried and ran to get something higher only to have the same result.

And unholly critical strike is on clegs which does not work with kicks, crushing blow can be found on rixots, crushflange and the unique scepter for low lvls.

First of all Its Unholy with one L.

Unholly is my kid sister. Secondly, pay attention to the whole post. you have to wear ALL of cleg's set to get the 30% CB. I know the sowrd has DS on it and I know that DS doesnt work with kickers.

Thats why I was crying about the low level of block. Any of those weapons you mentioned also give some CB and any of them with a good shield are probobly better than using cleg's whole set. I dont know becuase I have like 5 or 6 clegs sets and havent ever found a rixots, crushflange, the uni scepter or the gnasher.

Clegs would be an onwage low level set if the shield wasnt so crappy. The mods it gives are nice.

But anyhow thats where I got the 30% CB

No the sword has 30% DS and can be used quite well in Low Level situations, Low level necro for example. DS on top of amp can be quite suprising.

The only reason I know

is that I did some searching around a while back to see what the most CB you could get with a low level Kicker is.

It isnt very much I'll tell you that right off. No runewords, no set other than clegs, and no uni weapons other than what you already mentioned. I guess thats why most people build them for the mid-20s.

Looks like the kicker is viable

I took out my cleg-kicker (China_Doll)

in the asia 1 realm. She was level 14 and the most expensive stuff she had on was sigon's boots and cleg's set.

didnt have any really good charms, didnt even have rubied armor and helmet (saving that for the low-budget charger I'm building) just 19 max pvp kick damage and the 30% CB.

I hostiled a group that was in late act 1. they manage to kill andy before i got to them. Then I went to the sewers and found the group. Killed a level 15 sorc in one round of kicks.

Then three of them including a level 15 pala and a 26 sorc came at me. I kicked the sorc till she had to exit. About 2 rounds of kicks and she was very nearly dead. The pala never hit me but I couldnt really catch him.

mean time the sorc logs back on and hosts me.

only it was his level 80 sorc with a similar name. So that is the end of this particular experiment.

but I still have a clegs set on europe and a couple on east. So It looks to me like this Assn is absolutely viable at level 14 for sewer pking. The CB really has an impact. Wouldnt last long in a duel im sure but no cheaply built char would!

The expensive variant of a kicker focusses around +life charms, and a full Strength Armor, full Strength helmet, saber of krinitz (IIRC, the one with +10 dex/str), umbral disk, angelics or dual cathans (I'd go angelics), sigons boots, bloodfist and death's sash. Strength gets calculated twice in the damage equation and thus you get a nice damage bonus off Strength, higher than the one off % ED jewels, at least at lower levels. I didnt run the damage at higher levels with harder boots yet.

You can toplle oh I dunno 170 Strength at level 18 for exampl, and that will make a HUGE difference in your damage in a 4 kick cycle (about 100 PvP per 4-kick cycle).

So the expensive part are the charms. Also remember that elly damage carries over so you can equip that 1-2 cold damage small charm.

yeah that would be pretty ownage for sure.

Most of the stuff you said isnt really considered high end either. If I ever make a dueler I might just do this.

The experimenting I've been doing on these kickers is pretty much focusing on the speed of the attack rather than the damage to deliver things like ele damage, cb, ect.

the other experiment I have going is a level 13 with a 5 topaz military axe. she does ok as far as making people exit or run, but not the killing power I had hoped for. Still, who knows, with a stash full of good ele damage charms maybe that idea would work well too.

matt I have a few questions on your jabber for lvl 25. Would it be worth while to upgrade a good bone shield to a grim shield or as an alternative could you use a swordback hold (which could also be upgraded) for the 50% chance of open wounds? For the boots would nats mesh boots be better? You're only using the vidals for the 30% runwalk right? What about upgrading the twitch too? Does the defense matter any? I guess that is what I'm really getting at.

Nm about the upgrading shield thing. For some reason I thought you could do this.

pre 25 when you get the high lvl boots a kicker really benifits a lot from crushing blow (like 4 low lvl uniques give you it), elemetal dmg, and most importantly enhanced dmg from armor/helm. Basically you'll want to choose a wpn that helps you fight your specific targets. For pking you'll want to go elemental since cb does squat vs lower hp characters (I've proven that with my 800hp duelers vs crushing blow druids who would dmg a lot higher hp chars more then me). For dueling it depends. I for 1 prefer 6 saphire military pick for dueling. It doesn't add nearly the dmg of topazed wpn but if they are the typical newb/dumba$$ charger then their lack of cbf is your advantage. The lack of stats needed for sig boots allows you to instead of going st/dex/life helm/armor to instead go with ed jewels. Basically you can find 14-16% ed with relative ease and just socket away, if you check the % ed added from dragon talon you'll notice that at 20 its like 140% ed.

For higher lvls their is different aspects to go along with different gear.

I know many tried this builds, so the questions:
1. Absolute best item setup
2. Max possible damage and life
3. Highest level killed
4. Are norm cows enough for getting all items, 4 socketed armors, etc included. Are there lvl restrictions on sockets?
5. How much time will it take to find half-decent charms/jewels?
Easy questions first:
4. Norm cows I believe can't get your 4 socketed armors... though I may be wrong. 3 Socket Masks do drop. You'd want to do Hell Cows for a good pally shield so you can get higher resists/ed-ar pre-mod

5. Making the "ultimate" low level dueler is one of the most time consuming activities. Half-decent stuff can be attained easily, but won't get you far.

Okay. Best Item Setup IMO for a lvl 18..
Bloodfist, Death's Sash, COW KING BOOTS (which I believe was NOT mentioned. I consider these the #1 LLD boots. 20 Dex, Extra Damage, 30 FWR). I think Angelic Rings+Ammy is way to go (awesome AR, 10 dex, huge life bonus).
You're ideal jewel in armor/helm would be over 15 max, -15 reqs.
You're Eth War Axe + Pally shield (is the max/ed in a pally shield bugged?) would be the 20ED/15Max jewel.
Personally, I think the best way to with Charms:
-- Fine Grand Charm of Life. 6 Max Damage, 48 Attack Rating, 20 Life. I would say at least 5 of these. 30 Max Damage, 240 AR, 100 life. (15 spaces)
-- Bronze? Snake? Small Charm of Susteance. 15 Life x 19 = 285.. with extra AR or Mana.
--- The Charm set up is up to the user.

If you're fighting a Dueler... you won't exceed much past 25.. you might get lucky and kill some 30s though. For PK.. lvl 30s should be an 1 hit KO..
