Uhhhhh...help fast, please.

I noticed diablo has been acting up on me today, lots of strange errors.

Now i get a message from Lazer77#2 (my account, but with #2), so im assuming someone else is on my account right now. Because i dont think its possible to do this. Right away i logged off and changed my password, but they are still on Lazer77#2.

What the hell do i do, fast?

Enter battle.net with each char. Depending on which char he's logged onto, he'll be kicked off of that char, and if your password is changed, he won't be able to log back on.

So thats a yes that someone is on my account. What the hell.

Password was changed within the first 2 minutes of him logging on, but he is still online. Since he is #2, does it still mean its possible for him to take my stuff?

Yes it is possible that he can steal your stuff. As I said before, enter with each char that you have and he should be kicked off of bnet.

that's what he is doing right now.

I just did, and by enter do you mean just log into the chat?

Because i did that with every character, i did /whois *Lazer77#2 and he is in a private game on my sorceress. I try to create a game with my sorceress and it doesnt let me, i get that failed to join game message.

You don't need to make a game, you just need to enter chat on whatever char he is on. He's most likely dropping all of your stuff in a private game now, and muling it to his account.

Well ****, my sorceress is stripped. Now my assassin.

Whatever character i use to create a game with, it just says "Server down" or failed to join game.

No stopping now, nothing i can do?

How the hell did this happen? I never gave my password to anyone, i just gave my new one to a close friend a second ago so he can check if he can get on.

All I can think of is getting on your best character, or the one holding the most items, FAST.

If your friend can enter, tell him to "guard" another character. At least you will save those two characters, but you'll have to stay with them until the thief gets out.

edit: Too late.

Sorry about your loss.

Whatever now, i have been playing like 3 months. Been hacked or scammed numerous times now. Im just fed up with this.

Maybe the close friend? Maybe just a lucky guess at the password? Maybe you said something that gave a hint?

Were you wealthy? Sorry for your loss man.

First, using a character does NOT kick someone else using it off. The person who creates a game first is granted use, the other can only watch from channels as every attempt to enter a game will be met with failure.

Second, changing the password does nothing if he stays logged into your account. He simply returns to the character selection screen and picks another character to strip. There's no way you can force him out, as changing the password can be done by someone else, too.

Third, if someone had access to your password, legitimately or not, the game is over - you've already lost all your gear. You can't find out the password of the game he's entering nor can you find out who did it.

Fourth, if you know the details of everything you've stated here, such as the time and date, the gamename s/he continued to enter, and other information, then email it to Blizzard. It's up to them to take action by looking at the IPA logs and investigating. I'll leave it up to the other members of this forum who've been robbed to explain how useful that action will be.

BTW, if they see absolutely no tampering from alternate IPA before entry, but do see suspicious activity from yours, they'll probably assume you downloaded a keylogger with maphack or other illegitimate game cracks. Just a warning, let us know what you're going to do and the results step by step.

Yes, lately, i was pretty wealthy.

And it was definately none of my friends, they are personal friends who i have known for over 5 years each. Even if they did guess/get my password, they wouldnt have taken anything. I am positive about this.

I just sent an email to Blizzard tech support. If you want i can post it.

Post it if/when you get a response, then only post your next email when you also get a response, and so on. This way we get the action and reaction in the same breath, as it were.

While we're on the subject, I wonder if anyone has an idea on just how to kick someone off your account that couldn't be used by a non-owner of it. Perhaps the actual CD key user who registered the account?

Well that sux man, but I've had this happen before and I've emailed blizzard about it aswell, and the pieces of crap just said they wouldn't do anything about items lost in the game.

Blizzard.net has pretty much abandoned diablo 2 because all of their attention is focused on WoW (world of warcraft ). I don't know what they'll do for you but I did send them screenies and info and they just blew me off. From what i can tell, the only thing really keeping these At&t servers up (at&t is outta buisness wtf?) are the d2legit like sites that spam up the game and pay just enough to keep the servers running, because im sure if b.net cared at all they would give the server some type of an upgrade. in fact i'm suprised they even make new patches like 1.11b.

and yes the if you look on the news posts it says its an at&t server, or atleast when i last looked (last monday) it was.

The only tips i can give you now is, don't give anyone your password, even if you've known them for years. Make the password something easy to remember, but only you would remember or know, my password isn't even a word :azn: and don't make enemies if you can, less enemies = less chance of some1 tryin to hack your account.

Well yeah, i know all this. My password is one that i pretty much know, and i never told it to anyone even if they were close to me. I just gave it to my friend during the whole hack to see if when we get three people on one account, if it would kick the other guy off. Basically, its all gone. I sent the email last night so maybe a response will come today or tomorrow.

What do you expect them to do, create exact duplicates of the items you lost based on the specifications that you give them? I still don't believe that all the people that had their accounts 'hacked' had nothing to do with it, either downloading a keylogger, loader of some sort, or another 3rd party program.
