Uber chest in the pits?

Can the uber chest in the pits not drop anything rare or unique?
I've gotten absolutely nothing out of it.

And hardly anything from the mobs in the pit. In my opinion not really worth doing anymore and I've done plenty I think.

I usually do Countess, Pits, Andariel, Summoner, Meph, Baal, Shenk, Eld and Nihla.
But lately I've been skipping Pits because I dont get anything anymore and nothing from the chest.

keep on trying, i've got some nice items from 85 lvl arease. It reuquires a lots of runs and fast killing speed.

You get better drops from the chest with more players in the game.

You're running 8 super uniques for every 1 pit run... of course the pit drops are going to seem wafty. As a general rule you will need to do more pit runs than you do boss runs to get anything of value, the advantage being that you can get items in the pits that you can't get off most bosses. If you are capable of running baal then there is probably no need to do the pits, especially if you can glitch drop him. What character are you using to do MF runs? Clearing out WSK2/3 followed by baal has the best of both worlds.

I have only just started doing the pits with my poisonmancer, done about 15 runs is all so far. I did get; however, a single unique crowbill out of that chest last night, so it can drop uniques. Better to kill all the superuniques though then hope on something good from the chest imo.

I use my level 89 Fishymancer.
I usually get all my 26 skeletons from doing Countess. And then go do Pits and get my 21 revives. So I'm able to clear out Pits rather fast.

And yes, I'm quite capable of doing Baal. I do him as well on every run.

Didn't take long to turn into an e-peen thread I see.

Just clear out WSK 2/3 instead of doing the pits. Higher monster density, more uniques etc.

Butchie said that I needed to have a fast killing speed. You asked which char I used and if I was able to kill baal.

Well if someone asks if an area/chest is worth it, what better way to show it than by posting your drops from it?

While WSK 2/3 can have good drops as well, I find the pits to be far easier (and faster) to clear.

Not really what I was referring to.

Clearing the pits is indeed easier and faster than clearing WSK but if you're able to clear WSK and kill baal at the end with the same character then you get all the bonus' of running a level 85 area with lots of uniques plus the boss drop at the end. If you're fully capable of doing that then there really isn't any reason to run anything else, besides avoiding tedium.

I found the Doombringer and Skullder's on my first run (Doom in the main section and Skullder's at level 2) but have never seen anything except bad rares and vast numbers of magic items from the chest. I usually get good drops from the pits and I find it a pretty fun place to MF.

In practice I find it way more feasible to run WSK 2 with my non-teleporting characters than The Pit. The reason is that, by the time I get to the pit and start rolling, the game starts to disband (baal run ends, in other words). WSK2 has its own waypoint, so I'm able to kill more monsters before everyone leaves.

yes multiplayer solo pit runs would be more viable...if people actually played this game anymore

As of late, my MF runs have been short and very sweet.

I run the following, and not necessarily in this order, Pits, Andy, Shenk, and Eld. The Pit seems to be the most prolific for good drops and finds. On my last 200 or so runs I've found the following:

3x Frost Burn Gloves
1x Azurewrath Phase Blade
1x Aldurs Boots
1x Gore Rider Boots
1x IK Boots
2x Tal's Mask
1x +1 Barb Skills GC
1x +1 Pally Skills GC
1x 198% Titans Jav (Will be using very soon)
1x Andariel's Visage
1x Silkweave Mesh Boots
1x Marrowwalk Boneweave Boots
1x Sander's Boots
1x Spiderweb Sash
2x Full Berzerker Gear (Dumped 1 set in norm "free" game)
2x Full Sigons Set (Dumped 1 set in norm "free" game)
1x Trang's Armor
1x Iceblink Splint Mail
1x Sazabi's Basinet
1x Wormskull
1x Undead Crown
1x Umes
1x Heavenly Garb
1x Razortail Sharkskin Belt
1x Glooms Trap Mesh Belt
1x Ravenfrost, Manald, Nagel Rings
Countless rare rings, ammys, boots, armor, shields and weapons (alot of which are dumped in normal "free" games).

I have a level 87 Hammerdin with about %300ish MF. I'm on US East, I do give away alot of nice things. The game names I create are "sweet" or "smooth". I try to run atleast 10 games each session. Sorry, I won't give out my account name because it's already known and I get whispered all the time looking for freebies. If you see my games, come on in and wait. I usually dump the stuff I don't want in Act 1.

If your still in normal what would be the best places to run??
I am just starting my summon necro and I need to know what I should run to get the best items?

don't "run" anything in normal especially not on a non gear-dependent build like a summon necro

level to 35-40 in baal runs (or solo worldstone/throne/minions clearing) and get to nightmare as soon as you can, as you progress there (solo so no one takes your drops) you will find gems and runes and other stuff you can use to start building some trading wealth

Ok I have a second question.......I have a level 67 necro who is my MF character Between 4 and 500 MF so I am still in act one because he is getting killed all the time :P
So since I have not beaten hell yet where would be the best places for me to mf? Or should I spend sometime ust beating hell and then retrying it?
