Sorry guys, this post will be technical and doesn't really have anything to do with this thread, but I'll post it to have it somewhere.
@Burgomaster3
That level requirement 96 thing is nasty. I had the same problem when I crafted my rings and didn't care to prevent that which I regret now. It is the 6-9% mana stolen affix that makes that level requirement. To prevent that from happening, our output ring ilvl should be 85 or less. Or, given by formula:
Ilvl = int(clvl/2) + int(ilvl/2)
Since both ilvl and clvl are important, we can easily control the outcome of ilvl of the item.
I do assume we all gamble with as high level character as possible, at least to have a chance to gamble 2 skill amulets comfortably (we need level
95 char to have 100% chance per rare amulet to be able to spawn 2 skills). In that case our gambled ilvl of rings would be between 90 and 99.
If we craft blood rings with character level up to
73, our output ilvl of items would be:
If ring ilvl99, output ilvl of crafted ring is 85, aka that crafted ring cannot get 6-9% mana stolen, aka no level requirement of 96
If ring ilvl90, output level is 81. We get all other affixes easily.
We do want ilvl 77+ crafts to spawn (highest lifesteal possible), but up to ilvl of 85. Our crafting character should then be
between levels 64 and 73. That way we can use ALL gambled rings by
level 95 character and have crafts with all desirable affixes possible. Normally, math changes if we gamble with character that is below level 95.
Well, I didn't have character of that level nor did I care to make one. That decision resulted in having great reqlvl 96 rings that will probably never be used properly. For the next time I'll make sure to have char in those levels made only for ring crafting purpose.
