Found a +12 (13?) max dmg martial arts GC and some other garbage. Crafted my first blood shield (aegis) and it was garbage. Figured I would try it out. No interesting mid/high runes yet :(
 
The -req might not be needed, but it sure is pretty sweet to be able to swing such beauty at such low level and without having to invest in str or dex :).
 
Hello hello, some things to report. Nothing special really, just little something I wanted to do for a long time and it is finally done.

Before that, I imbued some eth claws in search of fool's + cruel modifications, but no such luck. Yet. I still have over 40 imbue quests to go, only problem is getting eth claws which can be imbued.

Feral Claw is somewhat inferior to Runic Talons since you still need another source of IAS from gear to have max trap laying speed, but that is easy to achieve with Highlord's (which I plan to use) or IAS in circlet/Shako.

So, final question after all that is: PvP when?
 
Haven't had too much time to play past couple of weeks, just occasional 1.13 Council runs or 1.07 LK.

Council continues to be pain in my backside, but at least they had the decency to give me an Ohm, 8FR/6MF SC and a Grailer:

But sir, I'm still not even close in richness level to top 3 richest active players, let alone if we include other players who retired. Fabian, Frozzzen and Nulio are so rich their stashes are written with golden color in gomule. Such wealth those guys possess is impossible to measure by normal player standard.

Long story short: hey guys, I'm still one of you! Aka semi-rich semi-poor player who dreams to be in top 3 wealthy players some day. Impossible to get to top 5 all time since all kind of crazy players were around on SPF; but top 3 of active players is long-term dream. Which might become true since neither Fabnus nor Froz are playing more than 10 minutes per month. Hype!!!

Pretty sure 2x grandfather sword gives more dmg than BK set for a WW barb. At least, that's where my discussion with nulio went 2 years ago. Also, a few thousand more life doesn't hurt :D
Of course, it would be affected by max dmg GCs and other stuff. Maybe nulio can chime in since he has a better idea
 
That's what @nulio thought, but then he did some damage calculations. . . I spent a few mins going through our old conversation and found this rough calculation:
Hmm I had a minor mistake in my math, used wrong base for grandfather (CS that has more damage)

Ignoring the CB from the BK swords and any other source.
Using Arreat's, 50 max damage more, BKWB and HLW and lvl 99 barb:

- BK sacred charge avg damage: 1831
- BK tribal guardian avg damage: 1722
- Each Grandfather avg damage while using two: 2547

The two BK swords will hit three times as the grandfather hits twice so the damage will be the same (in really short whirls dual grandfather will be better due to the two first free hits, but as longer the whirl is BK set will win) BK set has the CB so it wins. If due to the extra life GF has someone puts more points into strenght, GF might win (hard to compare versus the CB from BK set).

So you can see it's actually pretty close. GF doesn't give CB (you can get 25 from boots like me) and BK doesn't give +350 life, 50% life/mana (insane boost w/o BO and arkaine's ofc).

So, for HC I would definitely use GF swords (I had 8k life and still occasionally lost 5k life/sec due to PI/ME/LE/CE/conviction combinations. SC, either way. Frankly, I think the thing most lacking is something like this setup on a fire rogue merc:

With this setup, a rogue merc will proc amp dmg regularly which especially help you use berserk less AND not have to rely on saracen's or whatever (I used HLW iirc for frw and lite res). My merc also didn't die very often (once every hundred runs. . . maybe?), despite only having 700 life. tal armor is probably the best armor for mercs because they need @res as well as mdr.
 
@pharphis Yeah, that might indeed be the case, but I'm pretty sure I can rack BK sword a lot faster than two Grandfathers, and I'm kinda eager to get to the Council killing game ;). Once I manage get the both setups, i'll definitely try them out and compare. I guess they all need Shaes in them anyway, right?

That Rogue merc thing is intriguing. How many crafts did you need to get the Amp mod? I need more Orts :p
 
Only a couple dozen. Again, you only really NEED the amp dmg and a fast base item (might as well go for elite bows, too... my merc regularly killed a stray council member while I focused on toorc or a certain drop or something)

Fal runes will give you more dr/mdr but ofc they might have better uses (and are much rarer)
