Treachery Runeword Problem

I attempted to make "Treachery" in a 3os Artisan's Wire Fleece. The runeword was unsuccessful and I was left with the mods from "Shael+Thul+Lem".

Where did I go wrong?

Here are the details: I am playing 1.12a with RWM/RRM and have never had any issues with any crafting of runewords previously. The Wire Fleece was magical with the name "Artisan's" but had no magical abilities. The character cubing was a level 63 Amazon. Some ideas...

1. The "Artisan's" magical Wire Fleece cannot be used for runewords?
2. This Assassin denoted runeword must be made by an Assassin and not an Amazon?
3. Shael+Thul+Lem is not the correct list/order?

I have attached a picture of the armor for you to see.

Any thoughts from much more experienced members would be appreciated.

You can't make runewords in magical (blue) items, they must be normal (grey).

Yup, says so on the Arreat Summit website. That's what I get for not doing a small bit of research before cubing or posting. Lesson learned. Actually, I was just confirming this fact and testing the wits of my fellow forum members.:whistling: Yea...that's it.

Weird that the armor was magical but had no special attributes? This can't be common or I'm just not paying attention?

Artisan's grants the sockets...which is that armor's special attribute

Ouch! Tough luck... Sorry for the loss of a Lem rune.

That armour is indeed magical, as magical items do always have one or two magical affixes. In this case, it only had one, Artisans, which is a prefix.

If runewords did work in magical items, everyone would make their Treacheries in an 'Artisan´s armor of <something nice>'...

Feel your pain. I think we've all done that...once. IIRC, I got lucky and made my mistake on Steel or Malice

I almost spat out my coffee when i opened the image as i didn't read any replies yet or read your post carefully.
Sorry for the (minor) loss, but thanks for a good laugh.

(Most of mistakes over the years are also due to being optimistic, ie, selling Soj's with the intention to rebuy, rerolling good rare items with the Pskull Soj recipe thinking you're going to receive the same item with the same mods but then of better quality, etc,... So, if something sounds too good to be true if you think about it, then recheck )

edit: I would SO make a Prudence in a ethereal Godly Sacred armor of the Whale or Wind in a Cruel Berserker axe of Quickness or Leaf in a Volcanic Staff of the Magus or Lore in any 3/3.. Helm or White in a 3/3.. Wand :crazyeyes:.....)

No worries, I've seen suckers on B-Net with Jah Ith Ber in Griswold's Heart.

If runewords worked in set items the Griswold set would be insane.

'Santuary' Honor

Not sure if Valor would be worth 'Loring' considering all the jewel choices possible, but it's still a thought.

If runeword works in set/uniq, just think of those crazy item:

Rhyme/Splendor Moser's Blessed Circle

Gloom/Duress/Enigma/Lionheart/Dragon Griswold's Heart/Black Hades/Natalya's Shadow

Grief/Beast/Fury/Call To Arms/Crescent Moon/Doom/Eternity/Famine/Hand of Justice/Kingslayer/Passion/Death/Fortitude/Oath/Phoenix/Honor Rune Master

Imagine that Gris' Corona had 3 sockets. You'd be able to make dual Dreams that way, in the Gris set.

Also, the thoughts of a 'Doom' Rune Master are making me drool here

Even budget gear would be over the top, hell, I'd be happy to start with Duress in Natalya's Shadow + Crescent Moon in Rune Master

For those rich people, Grief + Beast or eth Eternity Rune Master in hand of frenzy barb...

I think I'd still choose a plain Phase Blade over a Rune Master for Grief. But the other idea's are pretty sweet! :cloud9:
