totally unfair!

I was reading the FOTD on the front page and I think its totally unfair that those of us who do SP and not the realms dont have access (legitimately) to this Uber Shrine.

While the diablo clone drops the special charm that was only one item that we could live without. but a chance to upgrade all your items w a 50% boost is a major benefit.

If Bliz goes through all the dozens of minor tweaks they do in a new patch, it shouldnt be too much of a hassle for them to enable these things in SP mode.

Can we organize a list of everyone here to submit a request to Bliz to make us a legit "mini-patch" to turn this stuff on?

got me! I looked at the site today (4/2) for the first time and didnt even think of april fools.

yea, credit to the perosn who made the pic, it would be convincing if it wasnt april fools.
Not for me. The potions in the shot would be a dead giveaway any day of the year. :)

yea, i did wonder why they woudlnt just put normal potions in the belt to make it look beter, but they had to put weird modded potions.

Guys... that is an early early early screenshot from way back in D2 development... it was originally going to be a 'guild house', something for bnet where you can store your items and share them with fellow guild members... this was before folks even had a stash in town to speak of!

Yeah--those potion graphics are placeholders from the early beta, IIRC. If you look through the old screenshots, you'll see those in a number of the images.

And, yeah...I thought I recognized it as that as well, Naraka. That whole guild support thing didn't turn out exactly as planned, eh? :)

edit: and by beta, i mean pre-beta, i think. :p

The Hell Bovines certainly first appeared in a screenshot posted by Blizz on April 1st, but it seems pretty likely they were already intending to include the Secret Cow Level and the "April fool" was actually that everyone thought those cows wouldn't be in the final game!

But the original cow level was made up by some folks for D1. They created this slick webpage which I've been trying to find but can't. It said something about clicking one of the cows by one of the dungeon entrances a ton of times to open this secret level. There was then a cheat in Starcraft--something like thereisnocowlevel and then they added it to D2.

I heard the same thing about Starcraft. I think I remember seeing it on a site that hosts FAQ's for hundreds of games.
