Thunderstrike - Questions

Heya folks,

I've read a few things and found myself going back to Thunderstrike for a goofy build, but also for cheap PVP as well at lower levels. Anyhow, a few questions regarding it:

1) Pre-casting it at high levels and then switching weapon/shield. Will the strike stay at the higher level, or does it revert automatically? I ask because I know if you pre-cast Strike with no points in it, and then switch to not having it at all, it will be there but never strike anything.

2) It strikes more often with more points. When pre-casting, will it retain that higher level for this purpose of hitting more often, or will it only strike based on what the current level is?

Any thing else that I might need to know?

Cheers,

The number of strikes shot per second depends on the current Slvl, and when that is 0, Thunderstorm never strikes. The damage can be prebuffed.

I am not sure about the others, but what I know about Thunderstrom, is that if you cast thunderstorm from items (ie you didn't put hard points into the skill) and switch weapons, the thunderstorm does nothing but the thunderstorm graphic remains.

The relationship between skill level and frequency is great to know. I had planned to build a 30 Tstorm/Lightning sorc, buffing my Tstorm with a 3 ES/1 Chilling/3 Tstorm Insight staff on switch, so my damage will remain:grin:.

Heya,

So if I understand correctly, the following is true:

1 - Level 26 Thunderstrike (20 hard points, 6 from an item on switch) will do the damage of the level 26 precast, but when switched so that the +6 is not applied anymore, will only strike as often as your basic 20 that remains as it is current.

Or,

2 - Level 26 Thunderstrike (20 hard points, 6 from an item on switch) will strike and do the damage of the level 26 precast regardless of you switching to other items.

?

Cheers,

The answer is
3 - Level 26 Thunderstrike (20 hard points, 6 from an item on switch) will do the damage of the level 26 precast, but when switched so that the +6 is not applied anymore for striking purposes, will only strike as often as your basic 20 that remains as it is current, but the damage from prebuff +6 stays applied.

Ahh, got it then.

That's a bummer. Do we have a table of how often it strikes at 20 and higher? Also, does it strike while teleporting or do you have to stand/walk a second to get it to trigger before you can tele again?

Cheers,

A friend has a level 30 LLD Tstorm/Lightning build. It's a pesky bugger, and the Tstorm strikes at a constant rate regardless of what his character may be doing(teleing, walking, running, etc).

You would be better served if you post/searched that question in the stat forum.
