'Three Way Dance II' - H.C 1.10 Tournament

Crg, I would expect that between your Valk and your merc, you should be able to manage anything except PILI. A wand with charges in Lower Resist can also help by removing the Lightning immunity for some LI monsters.

If it kills your merc & valk, run. Seriously, as that's how I lost my Amazon last time (I know these ghosts keep killing my valk, but I can just re-cast her and take them, I'm so close to the Countess now - oops, I died).

I found some more time for Starm and completed Act IV. Diablo is slain (and quite easily at that), and Starm's now waiting in the Pandemonium Fortress for the others to catch up.

Current Status:

Conqueror Hades - (Nec Poison/Curses) - Lvl 69 - Act 5 NM - 66 Points
Conqueror Fogged_Mirrors - (Sorc Lightning/Cold) - Lvl 72 - Act 5 NM - 66 Points

No point update from me, however, I am only one item away from taking all of my characters into hell: A Skin of the Vipermagi for my Necro. I found an Io rune and a Shael rune to complete my White and Rhyme runewords (new necro head). Total, I have a slvl 26 Bone Prison, enough for BP to cost TWO mana! It's ridiculous!

Once the Skin is found, then it's playtime!

Good luck doing the 'specific item hunt'. I'd get out a Stealth / Smoke armor, just in case you go mad waiting. :) Stealth worked well for Zedar, although I think a skin would have been better. :xmad:

I've got stealth already, and I don't want to be scared about resistences, which I am right now

However, I have patience with this project. One step I refuse to take until I am ready is that which links NM and Hell. The step is huge, and if I am not ready, I will make that step.

Patience is a virtue every HC player must have.

Patience, hey. I knew there was some reason I couldn't win.

Starm's now resting in the Pandemonium Fortress, so it's time for Sara to catch up. In a very short window of playing time last night, I got Sara started off again, taking her through to the Spider Forest waypoint. She picked up the statue along the way in the middle of a fight with two flayer boss packs. She was close to levelling up, so I wandered through the Arachnid Lair and got the necessary XP.

I crack the 200 point barrier!

So I finally worked up the guts to move Hera through Act 1. And I enjoyed it. Not too many LI's, although the first monster spawn of Stoney Field was all LI (Skellies, Archers and Zombies). The re-roll was Zombies and archers, nothing I couldnt' run around.

Anyway, she's sitting at the Outer Cloister WP, and I'm going to do some pit runs for a while, maybe picking up a level or two.

No great USEABLE finds, but I did pick up a Goldstrike Arch off of Meph. Still no Vipermagi though.

Hi everyone,

Had some time to play this weekend, and let Morpheus finish Normal. He still needs to do a cow run, but that will be next, and some leveling to a nice rounded 50. So everyone is ready to go into nightmare!

His run was slow, but incredible safe. He hardly ever needed a potion, except for mana pots, since i still haven't put any mana leach equip on him.
Most monsters can't hit him, (5 - 10% Chance to hit) and have to deal with 70% block after that. Resist are also at 70 - 75% for everything, but will need some improving soon. Damage is low, but my AR is still decent enough to hit 95% on most monsters.

So no real problems for him, but my defense needs to get a bit higher, right now at 4,2 K. So, I'll go on a massive gambling/shopping spree in act I nm, or advance everyone to nightmare meph for some MF. Higher damage weapon, a higher defense shield, and some high defense and resists boots/gloves/belt.
A ravenfrost is also high on the wishlist, but i have never seen one in my entire HC career, so I guess it will be a lucky drop if i get one. Still CBF can be gotten in many ways.

I'm really curious about how playing without teleport is going. I can see not using fire. Warmth isn't really necessary, and while the argument can be made that teleport isn't necessary either, sorceresses naturally walk slower, and just the safety teleport provides just boggles my mind on how you handling not using it.

Well, so far it is only normal, so you don't really need teleport. I have never played a sorc before, and my Paladin from the previous tourney was the only char i ever played with teleport. So since i am not used to it, i am also not missing it terribly. I do hope to find a kelpiesnare for the slow monster which combined with holy freeze and frozen orb should stop all monsters dead in their tracks. Maybe a nice rare with slow monster if that is possible?

What i do miss is the power of static, but meteor and orb are both so powerfull that I don't reallly need it anyway.

Otherwise a circlet or ammy with teleport charges can be gambled for. Anyway, we'll see, and I'll keep you informed :) .

Hi everyone,

Completely finished normal with all my chars yesterday, by doing a quick cowrun with Morpheus. Afterthat two baal/minions runs to level, allthough only at players 3, else it would take too long. So still not at my desired end point of lvl 50, but maybe I can do another run this weekend.
Or just leave it as it is.

Slow, slow, slow. But safe, so I guess i'll just keep on going.

Hias: WP: Upper Kurast - Last Quest: Lam Esen's Tome
Sepp: WP: Kurast Docks - Last Quest: Killed Mephisto

Hias is half way through Act 3. He has found all of the body parts and is now resting in Upper Kurast, ready to enter Travincal. Hias had a bit of luck in the Sewers, when the stairs to Level 2 lay near the entrance that I chose. Otherwise there are no big problems or NDEs to report (Hey this is a fishy, what do you expect).

Conqueror Steel_Poison - (Necro - P&B/Curse) - lvl 74 - Act II Hell
Conqueror Steel_Magic - (Sorc - Fire/Light.) - lvl 75 - Act II Hell

Ho, Ho, Ho, I'm back in town again and made some progress with Magic. The sewers were slow going because of all the FI archers. However, once I made it out into the desert everything was sizzle, sizzle, burn and my groove came back. I used one of my imbues to make this:

Glyph Carapace
Great Hauberk
Defense: 853
Durability: 30 of 50
Required Strength: 118
Required Level: 56
Item Version: 1.10 Expansion
Item Level: 79
Fingerprint: 0xf26259d
+10 to Life
+70% Enhanced Defense
Lightning Resist +28%
Cold Resist +21%
17% Faster Hit Recovery
Poison Length Reduced by 75%

Not bad... and found this:

Eagle Mar
Falcata
One-Hand Damage: 76 to 138
Durability: 15 of 24
Required Dexterity: 88
Required Strength: 150
Required Level: 42
Sword Class - Normal Attack Speed
Item Version: 1.10 Expansion
Item Level: 77
Fingerprint: 0xd1837fa1
+135% Enhanced Damage
+44 to Attack Rating
+4 to Minimum Damage
5% Life stolen per hit

Not too shabby

Not-really-an-update update

My life has been stolen by Everquest II.

I'm not going to retire from this just yet, but I'm not sure when I'll feel like playing Diablo II again. If it gets to the point where I'm holding up the end of the tournament I'll bow out and hand over the prize stash I've collected so far.

In case of a tie, probably split equitably between the winners.

I'm personally a self-found, no muling type style, so I won't be taking any prizes, and will be giving out my mule once I get motivated to fire up my email and actually think about doing it. :)

More points on the board as Team Steel moves ahead :xgrin:

Magic made it to Lower Kurast and had several NDE obtaining the eye. The rest of the act wasn't too dangerous. Poison still needs to get the staff and Sword is wandering the desert in search of the lost city. Couple of good finds:

Hias: WP: The River of Flames - Last Quest: Hellforge
Sepp: WP: Pandemonium Fortress - Last Quest: Killed Mephisto

Hias has made some progress. He first went out to kill the Council in Travincal. That was a long fight. I had to resurrect my skellies a few times while fighting against the council and the FE guy killed my Merc when he exploded. Then I went into the Durence to find at least the WP on Level 2. This was easy and quick to find. No problems there for my army. After my quick success finding the WP, I wanted to make a short visit to Mephisto. He died without too much trouble.

On into Act IV, Hias had a hard time to keep his skellies alive against these corpse spitters. Next up was the Plaines which had Gloams (or their Act 4 counterparts). Out of these I recruted a few to help me fight Izual. He didn't stand a chance against my skellies and the crossfire from 11 Gloams.
The River of Flames had Abyss Knights, which made good Revives for the fight against Hephasto. Then Hellforge dropped a LEM (I have seen better).

I am still unsure where to put the upcomming skill points for Sepp the Zealot. Any ideas?

I continued with Sara through Act 3, and she's made good progress. She's out of the forest now, having reached the Lower Kurast waypoint.

She had to make her way through the Great Marsh, but didn't have any real troubles either there or the Flayer Jungle. No stygians in the flayer dungeon made for an easy time of it, and she's now getting close to level 30 and her valk.

Only the one point, but she's made some good distance, so hopefully the next part should be quite quick.

Hi everyone,

Good to see you reporting Mage11 (and all the others offcourse).
I'd had enough of Morpheus, so he's staying at lvl 49, which chould be enough for starting in Nightmare. Anyway, I have to gather some jewelry for him now (Raven frost, crafted safety amulet and crafted blood ring). So onwards to act III for some lower Kurast runs for runes and other crafting ingredrients. Safety amulets are very expensive with the Sol rune needed.

First to start the drive is The Merovingian, who summoned his army and made quick work of most of act I. He progressed till he found Charsi's hammer and is now looking at getting through all the cellars and tunnels beneath the monastery. He made a level, bought a nice +2 necro skills wand and 5 more points for the score board. Also some gambling, but that didn't get me anything really usefull.
Also a step closer to my new and improved merc: the might merc. Can't wait for him to join my forces and redouble my killing power :) .
