Our teams really are the same -- that's the same plan I have for Liselle and Zedar. Except I'll pick up the fire rogue in NM, because I was too lazy to level one early on. I'm working with 'Scorch' the Lightning Mage, who I hired because the name was too funny to pass up.

Good luck in the rebirth of the (demonstration) Weathergirl. I'm sure that you'll be able to avenge her -- and if I can get Liselle into Act 3, I'll have Polgara dance on Diablo's grave for her.

Well, Hazelnut burned her way through the rest of Act I without too much difficulty. She made 2 runed bows with 3 socket composite bows: 3x Tal and 3x Ral. Lots of damage output for now. The poison is especially effective for normal monsters, and the fire works well on packs using exploding arrow, but does that ever suck up the mana.

Now, time to get Walnut caught up, then onward. I'm looking forward to finding some better items by the time act V rolls around. So far into the stash, only Hsaru's Boots, Civerb's Icon, Arctic Binding, 2xCleglaws Claw, stoutnail and Leadcrow.

Well, since my last update which was earlier today... I have strated Ormus which was pretty heavily twinked with everything except gloves and amulet. He went through Act I on /players 8 very fast with no NDE, Andariel was very easy along with everything else. He has alos took down radament in Act II, which he now awaits in the Rocky Waste to continue the rest of Act II. Once I got Heart of the Wolverine things moved a little quicker. One thing that was something I noticed through Act I was that it was the hardest "boss" wise Act I, I have ever played yet. There were millions of hard bosses, most of the ranged with good mods.

Cain and Atma have both got the jade figurine and also have found the eye. They now both await to continue into Act III.

I'm seeing quite a bit of progress here. Welcome to all the newcomers I didn't see last tourney, and commiserations for the early deaths and RL bail-outs. Good to see that the tourney is still growing...what's the scoreboard up to now, Psycho? It was 52 last we talked. That's got to be a new participation record for the SPF!!!

I meant to do this a couple of days ago, but reality got in the way. Those younger compeditors, or those not experienced in hardcore play, be warned. SLOW DOWN. This is not a race. The last comp lasted for over a year, and its winner, Gouda, will testify that patience was his greatest virtue. My 3-day Destroyer jump was made on a dare, not a tactical plan, and Galadriel and her companions are truly lucky to be alive.
Do not try to copy my actions, do not think that racing to Destroyer gives you some kind of advantage in this tourney. It doesn't.

With that out of the road...well, actually I don't have much of an update. Both Arwen and Boromir have killed Diablo, with no real problems. Fade worked like a charm. I couldn't exactly bask in the lightning bolt of death, but I survived it, and that's what counts.
As far as items go, I grabbed an Ethereal Merciless Pike which boosts mercenary damage to about 200 average. Baal runs have also produced a Moonfall, which Boromir will be able to use in Nightmare, along with a series of low-level uniques. I'm not even considering making the jump to Nightmare yet, even though I'm legally allowed to do so with all characters in Act V. As I said earlier, from here on I'm taking it slow.

End of play today, and Arwen is at the beginning of Act V. Boromir just found the Ancient's Way waypoint after duking it out with Nihlathak, and Galadriel can now kill Lister in under half an hour.

2) exact you can't reroll (if you go back for quest, you have one reroll)

Well, Today was my marathon! Another update:

Atma was the first to finish Act III, going through it pretty quickly on /players 8 the whole time. She sucked mana dry so fast it was really annoying going back and forth to get lots of mana pots. I kept my belt full of mana, not even one healing pot. As you can tell, CL would be very useful in Act III, because of those millions of little flayers. On council members i was scared a couple of times when i was cursed and the extra strong fire enchanted guy was after me, :lol:. Mephisto was pretty easy, all I did was static him and use my first skill into frozen orb to kill him, making every orb break on him, because it did so little dmg. Now she awaits in Act IV awaiting Ormus in Act II.

Cain finished Act III second pretty quickly. Was on /players 8 all of Act III of course with my skeletons, mages, golem, and merc while amping or decreping the whole time. Was a little slower than Atma, but never scared and barely losing any life compared to tanking a lot with sorc using CL. On my lvl 30 skill before Mephisto I got Fire Golem, which was level 2 already because of my +1 summoning skills wand. If anyone remembers when the fire golem dies he explodes and does quite a bit of damage just like CE. All i did when I fought him on /players 8 was having my whole army attack him while hes decrepified until my whole army died, even my merc. Then all I did was get a belt FULL of mana pots and just re-summon the fire golem over and over and over next to mephisto and thats all I did to kill him :lol:. Was quite funny I thought, a pretty useful way of killing him and also you never get close to being hit once.

Ormus is up next of course waiting in Act II after beating radament. :grrr:

Reportings: Well, I finally got my chars a little bit safer.. relying more on my merc to kill things and finally hitting that level 24 with my caster chars really helps things out. Josef is a little ahead since he collected the ammy (completing Q3), Mary just got the staff and Jesus is still hanging around town. Maggot lair really pissed me off with Josef since I had to push my merc up over and over again to kill something.. :( I'm not looking foreward to it on the other difficulties. Maybe I'll go get a level with Jesus later on.. :)

well, departed has been a blast to play so far. He's been a nearly pure Bowler through Act 2 and i'm having tons of fun sending huge molten boulders rolling down the stairs after my enemies. :D i'm pretty nervous about Duriel since the big slug has been the death of 90% of my hardcore characters. i'm feeling optimistic this time though since i've got tons of hitpoints - around 250 with Oak Sage at last count - and a nice little army of wolves and merc (Defiance) to tank for me. Hopefully by Monday i'll have the rest of my chars at least through act 1 as well.

i decided to go with the druid first since he seems like the safest build. most of his gear thus far is concentrating on things with + mana and + energy as well as defence. i've also been gathering runes in hopes of making Stealth in a nice Superior Chain Mail i just found. all i need is another Ith and an Eth and i've got it! well, wish me luck... or don't, depending on how competitive you are. :lol:

The_Weathergirl is avenged! In much the same manner as T_W, Polgara decided on a direct static attack. Fortunately, he was content to throw fire at her, but with a 70 FR, her feet only felt pleasantly warm.

The first pack of spawners stepping out of the Fortress dropped The Gnasher, and big D himself dropped Nightsmoke and Treads of Cthon.

Of course, in order for all that to happen, Liselle had to clear Act 2. She had the easiest time of it, really, right up until Duriel. She had a bit of a harder time, because her merc couldn't stay alive. (Zedar and Pol managed, somehow, to keep them... relatively alive. Not like the nightmare Liselle had. *enter chamber* *charge* *arrgh!* *portal* *repeat*). Fortunately, she survived, by chucking spears from a distance.

The Team Eddings stash is looking exciting -- with two sets of Hsaru's Iron Heel, and an Isenhart's Case... boy oh boy!...
 
I have been quite busy today, with all three characters progressing a bit. First I took Rimmer further, he encountered no serious opposition (which was no surprise for a fishymancer), not even from the Maiden Of Anguish, and managed to grab a cube in The Halls Of The Dead. With that important artifact in the hands of one of the trio, I started to cube up gems and true purples. After by doing so reducing the amount of items in the inventories a bit I continued with Kochanski, she rescued Cain after laying Bloodraven to rest and then to finish I took The Cat to do just the same.
Luckily no RDE's so far, but a few NDE's, especially for Kochanski. When I started her session I was quite nervous, but she managed quite well overall. The most interesting fight was her fight against Bloodraven: poison arrow, poison javelin in return and so on, however, since the poison javelin did leave a trail of poison, Bloodraven's army was quickly dispatched with (Bloodraven and Kochanski kept circling each other around the army). This was the first time I did not see Bloodraven raise a single zombie.
I'm going quite slowly, in spite of not doing full clears, but I did for the time being add the rule for myself to kill every superunique, and I am quite careful (Kochanski's starting technique was to hit every monster once and run away, when the poison has finished, repeat). The Cat started as a ranger, but since he got the henchwoman he all but stopped using a bow, now, whenever he is not bowling or fissuring, he just hits with a spiky club.
Kochanski is by far the most difficult of the three, and I'm not at all sure about where to put points (she is my first 1.10 javazon). Should I try to max the low level synergies for lightning fury and plague javelin until higher level skills are available, or instead put points into jab? The difference between her lifebulb almost empty and The Cat's almost empty lifebulb is his oak sage which means that he has quite a bit of life left when it seems to have run out.
One bug (I assume it's a bug and not a feature) I did notice earlier (with for example Rimmer), but wasn't sure about it, but is quite annoying with The Cat, since he has two extra spirit wolves from an item, is a level up bug. All the extra summoned creatures granted by items disappear when leveling up, really nice in the middle of a fight.

By now I did find some unique and set items: Cleglaw's Claw, Cleglaw's Pincers, Gull and Leadcrow. (This was the first time I saw the latter two; as for Cleglaw's Pincers, probably a good contender with Isenhart's Case and Cathan's Seal for most often found set item.)

One question about the rules, the characters have to stay within one act of each other, does this mean that when at least one enters act III it's forbidden to enter act I for anything but imbueing or the cow level? In other words how far is it allowed to go back? Example: if all characters just beat Baal, but don't enter the next difficulty yet, can they do Countess or Meph runs (respectively four and two acts back)? (and no I'm not assuming that any of my characters gets that far, my furthest hardcore character so far was killed by (normal) Mephisto)
 
You know, after a lot of thinking, I'd like to make a change to my rewards for DontHurtMe, my Druid. I'd like to change his Norm reward to belt, and NM reward to gloves. I was originally thinking of playing him as a Hunter, but I've decided that a Fire Elementalist with Summon backup would be much safer. Is this okay?

Last night, I managed to take Kadiya up through the end of Act I, where Andy was so kind as to contribute another Leadcrow to my stash. She must have a pile of them in the back room or something.

Anyway, today I sat down to play Anigel, and sort of just kept going, so she is waiting on the two slowpokes before she continues on into Act IV. She just hit 30 in time to take on Mephy, which gave her quite an upgrade, with Venom, Death Sentry, Blade Shield and Shadow Master. Finally, a use for the 11 points I have saved up.

Not really any NDE's today, but I did use up all my rejuv potions once, on Durial. I forgot to change it to /players3 instead of /players8, so it took a while. Then I did the same dang thing on Mephisto. Hopefully I remember on Haramis and Kadiya.
