i'm gonna give this one a shot. i'm not planning on quitting D2 any time soon, so there's no worry about the time investment. of course i'm also not planning to make it very far, so that is probably a moot point anyway. :D

So, Polgara got her massive leveling spree today, starting with a raid against Duriel, and ending with a battle against the dread Mephisto.

Mephisto dropped all rares, but nothing I could use, Duriel dropped three rares, one (a battle axe) which was a triple-durability rare.

Zedar, I think, will be next to make it through to act III -- he's having a rough time with no real damaging skills, I need bone spear to have an easier time of it...

Haven't played much yet, just headed off with Pinky since I have the most (ha) experience with Amazons...I've had few problems with HC barbs as well, so I'll be starting him tonight. The sorc is going to be dicey business...but my first barb was HC, so my first real sorc being HC is going to be way too exciting.

Well, decided to get some more runes, and got the Zon moving. So off she has gone and rescued Cain, catching up to the druid. I have decided she will be a Magezon, Freezing Arrow and Exploding Arrow for main skills, and of course a Valk when she reaches lvl 30. I just can't decide between 3 Tal runes or 3 Ral runes in the bow ... Poison or fire... hmm.

I'm really looking forward to my frozen orb. Low level sorceresses are the pits. I managed, slowly but surely to work my way up to Andariel (who dropped a couple of rares and a Leadcrow). I will probably do some countess runs with her now that I have teleport.

Tomorrow is Kadiya's turn. Then I will probably do a few countess and Andy runs with my Assissin for some runes and rares before moving onward this weekend. Weekends are the main time I get to play, so I'm hoping to get everyone at least through Act 2 this weekend, and hopefully through Act 3 on at least 1.

Up to 24 points, Cleo and Tokugawa just killed andy. I got my first unique (pelta lunata) from pitspawn with Tokugawa. That puts the total up to 1 set and 1 unique. Unprecedented bad/good luck. Nothing more than yellows from act bosses :lol: I've finally decided that Tokugawa will be a wind druid, and Cleopatra will try her hand at being a blizzard sorc (modeled after my best meph runner of all time)

@ Psycho - can you correct the name of my druid for the next update? Had it spelled slightly wrong, and decided to add the first name for historic disambiguation, and for the chance to use the word disambiguation. :cheesy:

Edit: Yeah, I meant to ask about gheed's fortune. Are we allowed to use them if we find one? (as I'm sure quite a few of us that make it to Hell diff will)

Must I take rings for completing Rescue Cain and Gibidin quests imidietly or can I do this later? I plan to take them before mowing to the next dificulty. If Im correct their ilvl depends from Char lvl.

Good question. Unfortunately I do not think so. Jewellery already has a little advantage already, it shall receive no more...

Update after last nights session

Team Discworld (Dornak) – 19 points

Eskarina - (Sorc – Cold/Fire) – lvl 4 – Act I Nml
Mort - (Necro – Summon/Curse) – lvl 24 – Act 2 Nml
Conina - (Assassin – Shadow/Trap) – lvl 16 – Act 2 Nml

Mort blazed through the first two acts and is now ready to sail into act 3. Had no trouble with him at all, as expected. He also found Civerb's Ward and Shadowfang to add to the prize pool

Conina was a little more difficult. Had to play on players3 or less with her. Once she got wake of fire it was much easier, with monsters hitlocked a lot. She does have major mana issues though. She's sitting at the start of act 2, waiting for Eskarina to join her.

Esk has just completed the Den of Evil and found her first WP. Nothing mush to report there.

Well, I found my second set today which was only hsarus set buckler, so nothing too happy about :).

I got Cain past Act I and also got the Cube and he now stands at the Dry Hills wp. No problems with him at all, blazing through everything on /players 8. Once I got 4 skeletons, I started maxing skele mastery. I got 1 point in Blood Golem, Golem Mastery, and Skeleton Mage. I am now using a wand with just +1 Summoning skills.

Started Atma, my Light/cold sorc, and things were moving very fast at /players 8 the whole time killing Andy, and moving on in Act II getting the cube, where she stands at the Far Oasis wp. I started getting charged bolt in the beggining, then on to Lightning, then Chain Lightning. She sucks up MASSIVE amounts of mana all the time, which i keep my belt completely full of mana pots, not even one heal pot ;). She currently has around 155 mana.

I am going to finish Act II with Cain and Atma, then I will start Ormus trying to get him past Act II as well.

I looked the new rules, no craft is very hard :( mana leach could be very hard in hell without crafting item.

I am a druid noob, I admit that. This build will be heavy on the summoning, with some werewolf skills thrown in. Final merc will be a Might guard. Herne is my front runner in Normal since I felt like plaing a druid.
Newsflash: werewolves are UGLY! :lol:


Odysseus (Paladin, Offensive/Defensive) - level 7 - Cold Plains - 1 point

I am even more of a noob with paladins than with druids, heh.
This is, you guessed it, a Ranger. He will meet up with a HF guard in act 2 NM. Most pumped skills will be Fanaticism, Holy Shock and Resist Lightning. Even without any combat skills, I hope he will be a decent tank when he needs to be. His good DEX will give him decent blocking, especially since he´s a Paladin...


Elayna (Assassin, Martial Arts/Shadow Disciplines) - level 6 - Cold Plains - 1 point

The avenger of Diana, my Skillz Tourney amazon, who died to FE Madawc in NM. Dragon Talon and Cloak of Shadows will get many points. Diana wasn´t allowed level 18+ skills. Elayna will ease up on some of the skills Diana maxed and instead put several points into Shadow Master and Venom. She will have a Barbarian merc, just like Diana.


The muling allows me to avoid wasting rings, amulets and gems. Yay!
Herne currently uses the other two characters as mules for said items. I have decided to cube all the surplus rings and amulets when he is level 24. That opens up the Cobalt/Coral/Garnet prefixes, as well as allowing "of Fortune".
A ring that gets both would rock! It will probably be carried almost into Hell.
