These Stickies are Made for Reading Thread - Summer 2007 i

Why would you want that?

Monkeys are cool. They would be fun walking down the street with and have people want to talk to me... Because honestly, how many people do you know that own a monkey?! And maybe he'll be a really cool one and be able to play hockey with me :D (Mindless plug for MVP: Most Valuable Primate)

Well, change is always good for one and bad for another. The new people usually get the short end of the stick but in the end will most likely work out for people.

Today has been gone by pretty quick. I got to work early today which was a plus! And then was on the road from 9-11:30 now I'm on lunch :D Hopefully the afternoon has better weather, as it's been raining all morning and it keeps busy:D

The thing with this new person is that he is higher ranking than everyone else. That is the only reason why it's important to see how he does things. Depending on that, the changes that take place can either be good or bad for the rest of us.

The last couple of hours have gone by fairly quickly, as it does any other day during lunch, and I feel the rest of the day might go smoothly as well. We will have a meeting in just less than an hour, and that could take as long as an hour. After that, there will be less than an hour left of the workday. :jig:

I remember Tri telling me about a "mishap" in a lab he was in last year. That girl was rather dumb. :azn:

I think I burned my thumb.

What happened? base+acid=boom?

It was something I took from the microwave... Being the "healthy" eater I am (okay, maybe just a bit lazy in the cooking department), I nuked one of those frozen dinner thingies. When I took the plastic from the top of it, some of the water that had accumulated on the underside got on my thumb...

Now it hurts with the slightest bit of pressure, and it feels a bit swollen. :hanky:

The steam from boiling water has more energy than the actual water, so it hurts more.
I think that's right... I dunno, I did some problem in chemistry last year and apparently that's true.

Ya, I've done that Lynn. It sucks the big one. Ice it for a bit, it'll help with the swelling. And might numb it so it doesn't hurt anymore.

Ken, I think thats true aswell.

It probably was the steam from it. I didn't feel it right away, so that's most likely why. The plastic sort of folded on itself, creating a sort of "funnel" that wrapped around the top of my thumb.

It doesn't really hurt, hurt. It's more of an annoyance than anything.
