The return of the bots...

With the return of maphack and probably other hacks as well, I knew you guys saw this coming. Well, godlybaalbot-x type games are now showing up on useast. Another sorc and myself were killing this one and following him from bot game to bot game, and thus far he's the only bugger I've seen. I know the botting will probably be as bad as last season soon unless they come out as 1.11c, or at least update warden.
 
And with the NL bugged/duped/hacked items on ladder now, it kinda sucks doesn't it? Judging by Blizz's previous actions, they won't do anything about the new round maphacks at all, at least until next season if there ever is one.

Bot hunting sure is fun though, isnt it?
 
Seeing how I got 200 spots up on ladder top1000 in a week without even playing, they must be doing something about it.
They use the hacks until they get themselves banned, so to speak.
Not every single ban/closed account is on blizz's news, ya know.

Lol man just checked the laddeer and my lvl 96 sorc also got about 150 places and I wasn't playin her since 2.1. I remember she was like #900 when I last checked now shes #755

What's goin on? :shocked:

i hate it when trying to kill bots and they end up killing u at times. ><
thats due to bad planning of course though.
and its fun pissing off the ppl who are leeching off the bot too. they start to whine and such.

I had just done my nightmare and hell forges before I joined that game is why the mess. As you can see, my sorc was rewarded with a sheal and a fal for her efforts :cry:

That is quite the embarrassment, it's happened to me a few times. Mainly when I go to the waypoint as soon as the bot does, the insight merc usually with the aid of concentration does a hurtin' poke poke. Critical strike and Concentration is nothing to be messing with. My current sorc can usually outwit it though because she's using SS with max block.

If bots get out of hand I'm gonna have to make a bot control CE nec. Good times. It's a shame there aren't enough people willing to go out of their way to pk bots. Inflicting an epidemic on an epidemic, if you will.
 
i was in a bot game and one of the sorc just was hittin ws2 wp with meteors,so when bot went there guess what...
it was cool thing to watch :)
 
I was in a hell ball game the other day and indeed this one guy had a bot. It would run thoruhg worldstone and then say "TP UP GO GO GO!" and also did Meph.

I like the bot-pk idea... really messes with people. I wonder if we can set up a mass bot-pk effort through these forums? If people have been rising on ladder like that, then obviously Blizzard is doing their part - and if Blizzard is doing their part, why don't we all do ours!

Ahaha that's great! A bot pk clan! I think I might have seen one baal-bot game once on west ladder...but there is this guy that I recently added to my flist, and apparently he's got a friend with a bot, whom is also scripting a bot for him too. As far as people getting banned, I haven't really been checking my rank in the first place, but I'll keep an eye on it to see if I jump at all.

i'd love to hah. as soon as i can i will make a zealot to hunt some -.-
 
That'd be great. I generally use Blizzard to pk bots with a maxed cold mastery for the -res (what I also use to pk meph :thumbsup: ), but I think corpse explosion in all it's damaging wonder coupled with amplify damage and infinity would probably be hands down the best bot killer this side of...well...anything. Expensive though, time to organ run myself a ladder infinity.

I'd join this bot pk movement in a heartbeat. I could be wrong, but a friend of a friend (literally, my friend had a friend who was a botter. I personally remove people when I find out they bot) always was giving him decent items for large sums of gold stating that his bot needs it. I wonder if a bot was stripped of massive amounts of it, would it somehow screw up the functionality of the bot? I'm not 100% sure on how bots work. I just know that stripping bots of large sums of gold is what bot-hunting does best.
 
I don't see how these bots could possibly be a good source of exp.
It just takes 1 person out of several hundreds of games to kill you and erase hundreds of games worth of exp at high levels.

You don't lose exp from getting PKed. Or are you talking about something else?
 
I was in a Baal bot game last night. Whatever bot this guy was using, it sure wasn't a good one. It set a TP in some idiotic places, sometimes even smack in the middle of a monster pack. Some bot...

That was me sorry.

j/k, I quit, so it can't have been me, but I used that tactic many times, and I once got a beautiful tp with my summoner, smack dab in the middle of a conviction enchanted boss soul pack surrounded by two boss packs of Ravelers (those raise dead things) with an aura of fana. I had to waste 10 full juv pots on that, but it was damn well worthwhile.

Nah, it used to be that you WOULD lose exp when PK'ed, but they changed it.
