Imho, if the Table of Heros is such a distraction (which it is not), a simple Spoiler tag can be made for it, so you can still quote it in your updates instead of relegating it to the first post only. This serves the dual purpose of not taking away the access of that table, while clearing up the size of the updates that need to be quoted.

That would be fine too. We could still update the 99 table on page 1 though if people would like that.

It's rather annoying to scroll it on my phone
I never look at the table anyway, as people generally post below it what they are updating.

Why keep runners in the table of runners when there no longer running? no reason to remove the table of heroes, just clean out the old table of runners add a new table of pretenders. I do like the spoiler tags. I do look at this thread often on my phone!

Mainly to preserve the history of the thread and the achievements that the players accomplished, provide some competition to the pretenders and not divide the table by active posters vs non-active posters. Divide it by the level of the characters instead. Contenders vs Pretenders

Table with all runners (bold all 95+)

Active runners

Without a spoiler, a table with only those from the previous table that posted an upgrade in last 12 months (for example)

I dislike the idea of pretenders vs contenders. Nulio's idea is the best- table of heroes, table of runners, active runners . Or it could be table of heroes, table of active runners, table of inactive runners.

I very much disagree with some of this, Cyrax.

That's allright we can't all be perfect .

What of players that did not put any update date in their progress?

As far as i can remember that only happened like once or twice and only when the update-dates were recently introduced.

In my honest opinion, it is very important to keep the "history" of this thread. Dividing the table by progress would butcher this history to shreds.

Is grogs' Assassin or my Light sorc (or any other high level) any less of a 99 contender because they have not been updated for some time? Relegating them to a different table would not be very kind to their progress already made.

A level 90 that is updating regularly is nowhere near 99, regardless of the amount of their updates. A "pretender" mini-league would in itself show (very visible and tangible) progress, serving as motivation to join the upper echelons. Dumping inactive 98'érs in there would stifle it.

Allright, i can follow (and agree with) your reasoning about keeping the history. Not in any way did i propose this because i do not respect those that get to high lvls, but for whatever reason don't finish the entire journey. About the definition of contender/pretender it seems like we'll just have to agree to disagree.

Editing this table (at least in Opera) sucks. Strange behaviour with copy/paste and spaces appearing from nowhere, etc....

Helvete, aren't you supposed to be in 15th place with the amount of xp you have? Or is that a typo? I'm gonna update soon so I can fix that table for you if you want.

Fixed. Yeah, so much to think about when fiddling around with that table, so I actually forgot to update the exp. And I was even doing 8 additional runs so that I would be the highest lvl 97 in there

I played MXL for a few months back in 2009. The name indeed comes from there

Michelle was created a little over 4 years ago in SC 1.11. I raced to 98,3 in ~3 Months iirc, then took a long break from D2 (at least RWM D2). I just can't bring myself to bring her forward to 1.13 because it will completely cheapen her gear (Stuff like CoH, Infinity, perfect CtA, among others and all self found) And I just don't have the desire to go back to 1.12 Baals. I really should knuckle down and finish her off though, as it has been way too long.

Noting how easy it is to mess up the links in the table of completed heroes, I wonder how others feel about moving that out of a table anyway...this would allow bolding of HC heroes, like I did here with Samsara (who deserve something extra to highlight them, IMO) and would keep newer heroes from being scrolled off the bottom of a codebox...which they don't deserve, IMO.

I can definitely see the appeal of preserving the history with the whole table of runners, but it REALLY is quite unweildy to work with...put me in the group supporting a much smaller, 'active' table of runners (and I think we should avoid the contenders/pretenders labels...just IMO...). The 'big' list could be taken out of a ranking format (as many of the 'runners' on it are no longer running in fact), and instead formatted by date of entry to the list, making adding new runners easy. The 'active' table could, and should, be left in a ranking format, IMO.
