The Noodle Compound V. 2.0

Re: The Noodle Compound

Leo: That's really cool! I'm so glad he talked to you and that you guys do have a lot in common
Also glad that you are having fun with OG too :)
Le Fat man got suspended.... :rolf:

Vivi: Sorry you're having a hard time, I hope things get better for you soon.

Re: The Noodle Compound

Good to hear Leo and your wall of text today wasn't too wall of texty :D

Re: The Noodle Compound

Yay I was able to eat something. And craving for coffee I made one. Will probably regret this tonight.
I'll phone my gp again tomorrow, probably to hear that the results of the blood test are not in and when they are that nothing was found. Not being pessimistic here, that's just usually the case.

My poweryoga teacher knows quite a bit too and she's experienced in all kinds of fields, she recommanded me some medicin which being homeopathic will be harmless but it's worth trying. I know people often laugh at alternative medicin but I suppose when you get really sick so that you can't live reasonably normal anymore, you will try something else if regular medicin doesn't come with solutions.

I don't laugh at all alternative medicine, just homeopathy. Still it probably won't hurt to try if nothing else is working, the placebo affect can be a wonderful thing :)

Re: The Noodle Compound

Hope you get some good results soon, then!

I don't blame you for trying alternative medicine at all, it can be surprisingly helpful. My mom does acupuncture and is also a licensed herbalist, so I've learned a fair amount about alternative medicine.

Hm, dunno. I have noticed some effect before with homeopathy, but there's two things about it. If you get the general highly diluted stuff you find in regular stores, it won't do much unless you take loads (there's stuff that's a bit more expensive but has a higher dosage of the herbs in it).
The other is that it doesn't do miracles, i.e. it won't cure something fully. People who critize homeopathy often take this point and it's true there are some homeopathist who gargle that they can cure things. Which is rubbish. Decent ones will say that their treatments accompliment regular medicin, often making the side effects of regular medicin more bearable, or, in case there is no cure found in regular medicin, making life more bearable in general.

Like with a lot of things in life, it's a few rotten apples who spoil things with their miraculous claims. As always, when something sounds too good to be true, it generally is.

I have had pretty good luck with some homeopathic stuff in the past, and I don't think that placebo is really a fair term to associate with homeopathic. Although I do think that a placebo can be effective at times too...especially with kids.

Re: The Noodle Compound

Pacebo's are scary, for no real reason something like sugar or chalk pills can emulate the effects of a drug, EVEN if you tell the guy they're on placebos.

The power of the human mind can be frightening at times...

In other news: Yu-Gi-Oh Season 0's Dark Yuugi is cool and like the manga, where he kills people, imagine if the Duel Monsters anime had "Yami" kill people instead of playing duel monsters with them, my childhood would of been so different. (And yes I like Yugioh the manga and uncensored animes *shrug*).

Re: The Noodle Compound

I laugh at all medicine, especially pills. Crazy freaking pills crack me up every time I see them, sprawled out all random in a bottle! And don't get me started on aspirin! Lol!

Re: The Noodle Compound

My mum works in the area of clinical trials and as such is often doing double blind tests. She told me the Placebo affect can be up to around 30% ... The one thing I don't like about Natural / Alternative medicines is the claims a lot of people make, additionally some of the pills can be down right dangerous. Still I have been known to use Chinese medicine and had it be fairly successful.

Re: The Noodle Compound

I agree with that. My mom has made a lot of claims that she should very well know that Chinese medicine cannot back up.

Re: The Noodle Compound

i love Kittehs. ^_^

OMG! OMG! OMG!! Bald Heavy Metal Brah talked to me tonight!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I got his name and SHOOK HIS HAND (and he may have been nervous. I look back and it was kinda sweaty, but OMG HE TOUCHED ME!!!!!!!!!!) but we talked for 15 minutes AFTER I checked him out. And when I was ringing him up, we had talked more, so.... 20 minutes altogether? He told me about his schooling and that he is an art student at certain art school and at the end of the convo he was like, "Yeah, so you'll be seeing more of me! Hahaha!" and I am pretty sure I stuttured at this part because I was thinking of telling him, "I am looking forward to it" and I probably should have said, "That's awesome!" but im sure the first response came out. >.> So... hopefully he comes in again soon. He is super cute and he seems really friendly. Into the zombie thing, into good music.

VIVI!! I started a convo about the shirt!!! He wasn't wearing a band shirt today, but I still wanted to look at it and it was a shirt for the movie 28 Weeks Later (a zombie flick). And I asked what was on it (because at that point I really couldn't tell) and was like, "Omg, that's a good movie! I like the first one a bit better, but yeah! Didn't know if it was a band shirt this time and I wanted to see if it was." and he was like, "Haha, no. It's a good movie, I also got it because I liked the design." So then I asked if he was into the zombie thing and he said a bit. We talked a bit about that, and The Walking Dead (one of his fave shows), we talked about Breaking Bad (one of my fave shows) he likes cartoons!! I told him about this one show called Archer last night and I think he likes my fave char, Pam. OMG!! and at the end of the convo, we shook hands and he's like, "My name is *Real Name*" and I said mine and I'm hoping he comes in more! OMG!!!!!! SO glad I looked super cute today with my tight Princess Peach Shirt and jeans and a little bit of makeup. :rolf:

And because the convo was a bit, I was a little late with my date with OTG. Yes, I had another one with him tonight and we talked some more. He's such a nice guy and he's interesting and he likes games! Loves Halo, said he was going to buy Diablo 3 when it comes out. LOL i mentioned it and he looked at me and said, "**** yeah I'm gonna buy D3!" XD he knows a little about you guys.... >.> Yeah, I opened up a little more and kinda told him about this place and said I am very attached. :loving:

but enough of this! Like any of y'all want to hear this. I just wanted to express that HMB talked to me today and just... ohmygod. I was super happy and haven't come down from my little cloud since 7 PM.

i love you guys!! Might be around this weekend. *hugs and keeses to all* see y'all soon!

p.s. Le Fat Man was suspended from work for the week! :O long story short, he did something he wasn't supposed to and it got to the point where they needed to send him home the next day because he was super pissed. O.o so.... yeah....

congratsd Leo!

Seems we agree then. Homeopathy is pretty regulated over here, you buy it in perfectly normal drugstores or supermarkets so it won't be dangerous as otherwise it would not be allowed in those shops. And whenever an (alternative) medicin makes fantastic claims. I know it's going to be crap.
Worst case, literally so.

I've had half the results of my bloodtest today. They come up with a lack of vitamin D. Which is odd. GP asked me if I go outside enough. D'oh. I cycle to work, you don't do that inside. I go shopping, which is outside. I walk and often in my lunchbreak I go outside too. And I like going away for a day if I have a day off, which is also outside. Weird.
It also doesn't help that I'm not feeling great again, like someone's tightening a rope around my chest.

So, since you don't want to start with aspirin, what do you want to start with? I hope it won't contain hormones.

Re: The Noodle Compound

Glad you got some of your tests back. That is a bit odd that you are low on vitamin D, maybe it's just not absorbing properly somehow?
