Re: The Noodle Compound

There is a reason why I call American Football "American Handball".

It's funny how American Football is played only in States, but Americans think it's nr 1 sport in the world (Note possible generalization )

Note the importance of the foot in this photograph. Without the foot, the player is at great risk of falling over, hence the term "Football".

Contrast this with the game of "Soccer", known as such because it is played with "Soccer Balls" and does not feature the use of a foot.

Re: The Noodle Compound

Of all the pointless discussions...

Loz, your arguments are entirely unconvincing. Especially given the picture where the player is very clearly holding the ball in his hand. I mean, you might have a point if in soccer the players stood and ran on their hands and held the ball with their feet, but regrettably they're not orang-utans.

If there was such a sport, even I might watch it.

Re: The Noodle Compound

Feysal, please post a link to a video, I would like to watch the orang-utans now.

Gorny - is it G W Bush? He's the only American I have ever heard of.

Re: The Noodle Compound

I would think they should call soccer kickball,as thats what they do mostly, just kicking the ball;)

Re: The Noodle Compound

I used to watch Grid Iron on a regular basis during the Walter Paynton [sp] years. I loved the plays on the one-yard line involving "The Fridge". I seem to recall they had a terrific tight-end in those days, but his name escapes me.

The Super Bowl winning Bears were a joy to watch, back in the day. :cloud9:

By that logic, Soccer should be called "kick-each-other". I mean, have you actually watched the modern game?

Edit: sorry for double post, I am in full mafia game mode :)

Re: The Noodle Compound

Mr Davis was very good in "Twin Peaks". I enjoyed his role in that, er, rather odd series.
