The Don S. Davis memorial Stargate mafia game.

Re: The Don S. Davis memorial Stargate mafia game.

I was a bit disappointed with this game. People complained about balance in my game, but this game the Wraith stood no chance.

If I'm not mistaken, every single town player was a power role, and some of them were just ridiculous. Resurrection? Voting treestump!? Cop that gets role name!!?? Not to mention roles that were specifically designed to beat the wraith like Purple Gurl and Ankeli. What did the wraith get? A three man team with a "special" kill method that was actually more of a liability than a boon, because if we targeted non-humans then our kill failed.

Wraith had literally 0 chance of winning this game.

The resurrection ability made them a non voting treestump that could post at night. This coupled with the fact it only worked on humans that were dead or dying at a 25% chance success rate and could backfire on Tomin makes it pretty weak.

If you had just chosen to go with straight kills you would have killed the doctor the first night. You should have been able to reason out that the special kill method might have a drawback. Otherwise why not use it every night?

The cop thing was sort of powerful. But if noodle hadn't been recruited night one, he might just as easily have derailed the town into voting for "wraiths" that were actually townies.

Of course we knew it had a drawback, but that doesn't change the fact that we were a 3 man team with only 1 power role. Sure the next in command so to speak would take up the role, but I still felt the Wraith were pretty underpowered this game compared to pro-town and the Replicators and Ori.

It was still a fun game for as long as it lasted, and was fun to watch as well. Although I sort of trailed off at the end due to real life stuff and having to catch up with so many pages. But I got the gist of it from the newest posts and the story posted.

Re: The Don S. Davis memorial Stargate mafia game.

I was actually thinking of hosting one at some point, but don't really have the time for it. Besides I doubt I'd be able to balance such a game anyway. :D

Maybe some other time when I get a bit more experience. ;)

Re: The Don S. Davis memorial Stargate mafia game.

Well, I have allmost all the roles needed for a game (Star Wars, theme can be changed to whateverthehell if people don't like it though) but it's a game that requires at least 20 people, and I'm not sure enough people are up for it atm. So maybe someone should host a smaller game first?

Re: The Don S. Davis memorial Stargate mafia game.

Bad Ash talked about hosting a Simpsons themed game next, and I've been planning one built around the Waterloo battle, for 15+ players.

Re: The Don S. Davis memorial Stargate mafia game.

An actual vanilla game would be fun to play to be honest.

well.... i was actually talking about that with someone today. was wanting to do a vanilla-ish, werewolf game again since i haven't hosted in almost a year. >.>

but other people are ahead of me so i can def wait my turn. i don't mind. ^_^

Re: The Don S. Davis memorial Stargate mafia game.

I have a vanilla game lined up, not themed, but feysal please feel free to host the next one and I will go after you. this game was a behemoth and I might be taking a mafia break. I might play in yours feysal, might not, but atm I will let you jump me in hosting line and ill go after you

Re: The Don S. Davis memorial Stargate mafia game.

In that case, I'm up next. I do hope I can get at least 15 players, less than that and I'll have to remove some roles. More than that, and I'll be happy to include a couple more. Signup thread will be up soon.
