The 3 flawless + magic weapon cube formula

The arreat summit says that the ilvl will be = 30.

I wonder which good mods an ilvl 30 weapon can have. Would it be possible to cube good javelins?

Or would it be possible to cube good claws? Ones with +2 traps? I'm looking for hand scythes for a llder and seeing that only fara (nm) sells hand scythes it would be nice if it would be possibe to get +2 trap hand scythes from this cube formula as I'm looking for every chance available to get those hand scythes.

Or is the formula purely crap?

For hand scythes:
ilvl = 30, quality level = 41. It's a low level item, so the highest affix level is
max( ilvl, qlvl ) - qlvl/2 = 21 (same as for ilvl1). +2 traps is lvl 40, so it's not possible.

Depends on what do you mean by good I guess, looks like it's time to play around a bit with the affix calculator and find out

Thx for the link. I do have that site bookmarked, but I couldn't find any amazon javs yesterday. And I stilll don't see any hand scythes

Okay, so it's possible to cube 4/20er javs which is not gonna be worth much. And it's possible to cube 1trap/20 hand scythes. I'll probably try cubing hand scythes even though the frequency is as low as it can be as it's nearly impossible to get good/decent hand scythes.

No can only be 1trap/10 ias

Does it have to be hand scythes? A higher qlvl item will have a higher alvl.

Which is why it's possible to cube a cruel berserker axe with chippies. (just an example, not sure it works with BAs specifically)

Hand Scythe is the only assassin weapon capable of spawning staffmods, while still having a lvl req of 30. Every other assa claw that can have staffmods have a higher lvl req by default.

You can shop for claws which makes cubing them like that a waste of gems, just as with everything you can shop for, except you need claws with a high base qlvl and a low ilvl, e.g. for staffmods from low tiers together with high-level affixes (although the chipped gem recipe would be better for that purpose, it produces ilvl 25 items IIRC). 1-2 sockets can also come from Larzuk. Maybe it would pay off if 3 sockets were possible, like with the 1.09 chipped gem recipe... which worked with swords only, for the sake of completeness.

I know I can shop hand scythes, but I would rather now waste many weeks running around in a town - maybe getting nothing. I can cube while I play and it's not a waste of pgs to me as I wouldn't pick up flawless gems anyways.
