The 1pt smiter guide to Uber Tristram v 1.0.

Q: Is more CB really helpful? The reason I ask is that after you get the Boss down in life, CB kind of sucks. I might prefer a balance of CB where there is enough % in the bginning to get him down, but not so much in the end that I can't get the # damage to finish him (her?) faster.

I have made runs with 15% CB before, a little slow, but not that much (I was using a hammerdin with 1 point smiter setup).

alright, well i guess this might be the perfect setup for the super rich player, i can solo uber in less than a minute (best time so far is 52 seconds)

you know what the 1 pt smiter build is so I'll go straight to gear:

im using an almost perfect crown of ages (missing 1 pt to def)

58% enhanced damage, 20 to strength steel rends (10%CB)

perfect gores for more CB

a 5% life life BK ring and a 247ar/20 dex ravenfrost

an eth vortex exile

a grief pb (i forget stats)

seraphs hymn amulet

an archon plate chains of honor

an 18/12/5 anni

a 19/18 paladin torch.

and on the swap i have a 5/5/2 cta with some crappy spirit

so i guess that would be it, little somethin to wrap your brain around

well i forgot to mention i have a bunch of 5res small charms, so i dont need maras, i get tons of resist from coa and exile. so i'd take the ed from seraphs, and the ed from rends.

Hey, I'm not trying to bash you or your perfect gear set up...just thought I would make you think about some of the things, the small bit of ed% after having Fanat, huge strength for coa/rends, etc. I wouldn't use that set up. I guess some people could spend 60 hrs for gear to tackle trist when another person could spend 1-5 hrs and still complete it just as fast. Food for thought...

my buddys rolls with lower gear, but he can still uber, he might die once or twice, but he can get it done, it helps him alot if he uses fanatacism and i use salvation. thats what i would suggest if you are using the lower gear setups.

Salvation is only needed against Meph and most of the time if you prebuff with fade and plan out your gear a little then you will not even need to use it. Sanctuary shield or even a 4 Pdiamonded pally shield with base resistances, smoke armor, and fade takes a pretty big chunk out of Meph's conviction.

1 at a time, usually luring Meph out first to take away his Conviction so if you have low resistances when it its on you then you can switch to Salvation for Meph, then keep Fanat on for the other 2. Taking on Baal/Diablo next is up to you. I usually go Meph, Baal, Diablo.

I've gone with the Middle Class CB build. How much dexterity do you suggest? I've already got max block, should I put any more in it? Or just the rest in vitality?

Hi guys!
After a long time building wealth (of course, now that the ladder is about to reset, things are cheaper than ever...), I finally made may "rich" version of 1pt smiter for the ubers. Wanted to try something I don't see everyday, so ended up trying my built over Grizwold's Set. Cool for its customization capabilities:

Helm: Griswold's Valor - socketed with +Res and + IAS jewels
Armor: Griswold's Heart - with enhanced damage and + elemental damage
Weapon: 4os Griswold's Redemption - 3 x Ber for CB + 1 Shael for IAS
Shield: Griswold's Honor - 3 x Um for more resists
Gloves: Dracul's grasp (my only source of life tap)
Ammulet: Highlords (tried Seraphs Hymm before, but Highlords really shines)
Rings: 1 raven frost and 1 dual leech + res all rare
Boots: Gore riders
Belt: Tgods
Annihilus (self earned!) + 18/18 Dtorch (couldn't get a ptorch yet) + lots of resists charms

Gris' set alone gives a lot of resists... (only the Umed shield gives me 111 res all) + 50 from the complete set. With the jewelry and charms, got enough to keep max resists even when under Mephisto's conviction (so, fanaticism all the time!).
It really becomes an easy task when you got the right gear... In fact, Lilith's minions were harder to beat then the bosses (and mini bosses) themselves. Of course, I was carefull to spawn only one uber at a time...

One thing I think its worth mentioning: To kill Meph's and Baal's minions (after you take care of the boss, usually), switch to the Sanctuary aura: much easier to kill undead PIs with zeal this way...

Chers!

Gris set is very easy to customize, but in the end the helm/shield/weapon can cost as much as high end rune words. It's not always worth it, but always good to see someone usin it.

I posted earlier, but nvm that. can some1 please comment on my build?

um'd guilliames
smoke
6 shael pb
hoz Pdimond
laying of hands
goblin toe

i use lt wand and prebuff with treachery. u guys think ill have enough res?

It depends. Your resists should atleast be maxed in hell. After that you should simply consider putting a point into salvation, which easily negates mephs conviction if your resists are already maxed.

For example, this is my gear now.

Umed Guillamanes face
Umed G angel
Highlords
Ravenfrost
Resist ring
Credinum
Gores
Dracs
Shaeled asterons
Gris sheild w/ 3 Pdiamonds

I have 90 maxed resists in hell without salvation, max block, over 1k life, and max smite etc. I've taken all the mini bosses down very easily so I think uber tristram will be the same.

Is doing ubers doable with the super poor setup? I wonder only because when new patch hits and ladder resets (assuming Smite and this paladin build isn't nuked), can peoples first character be this in hopes to actually do uber runs to get rich at first?

Or, do you need another build for collecting key sets?

Not sure because I have never done either one.

What is the difference between using a Grief PB and a eBOTD Zerker? I used the search function in this thread, but I still have conflicting viewpoints.

One, I would love to have a poison nova-ing zealadin, just for the coolness factor, but I'm worried that the lack of ITD will be a factor in how often I hit things in hell, even at high lvls. Plus there is some math that says a Grief PB does more damage, but I can't figure out why exactly.

Any help please?

Edit: I can't believe how long ago I signed up for this site. Damn you Blizzard.

Edit 2: Ok, I guess Grief gives more dmg to smite? So I may just choose that. I guess no Poison Nova shenanigans :(.
