The 1pt smiter guide to Uber Tristram v 1.0.

Problem
Alright, I have run Ubertrist before with a one pt. smiter. But this ladder I am doing it rather cheaply. I can smash Izual and Duriel, but I have a hard, hard time once they are down to a sliver. If I get an Elite pally shield will that give a significant increase in smite damage? (using a Heraldic spirit) FTW. My gear setup is as follows.

"Smoke" Archon Plate
"Black" Scourge

ik belt
rfrost
rare fcr ring
+2 ammy life everlasting :D

Expanding on my problem/ Question
So far i have just got them to sliver, then hammered them to death. (after openwounds triggered.) But if I try for the smite/fanta kill it takes forever and they will kill me. (I don't leach enough) Would Storm shield be able to keep my life bulb going up with the smite damage?

20 Blessed Hammer
20 Blessed Aim
20 Vigor
1pt Smite
1pt Fanta
Rest into Holy shield.

IMO storm shield is a horrible idea (non pally shield does much less smite damage). Get a sacred targe or something and stick 4 diamonds in it if you want a quick fix. Lots of resist and good enough damage for leech.



 
Not sure if this is the right "place" for this, but I'm making a 1pt smiter following this guide. I have mostly garbage gear (shael lightsabre, 3pdiamond pally shield, 3 socket grand crown with thul/ort is about all I've got from this guide so far).

I don't have a lot of valuable stuff, but I found a +1 fire skills gc with 7% FRW on it which I'd imagine I could at least get something for (no idea how valuable this is). My question is, out of the gear list on this guide, what would I be best off getting, that I could get with this charm? I'd assume dracul's grasp, but not sure. Could I get more than that? Less?

This is US East ladder. Thanks for any advice!
 
Get grief if you desire damage.

If all you want to do is to do ubers, however, I say get dracs + gores (should be way more than enough for both).

This isn't a price check forum so go ask there, but I think fire GCs sell for mal-ish, but I really have no idea, dracs usually go for pul-um on west so yes you can buy those with it but gores is a better choice for now, though you do need draculs for the lifetap.

I know it isn't a price check, but was wondering what would be best as far as gear for the build :(. I will try for drac+gores and maybe something else.


 
Don't forget that you need a respectable source of Crushing Blow. I suggest coughing up on Guillaume's Face (Pgems fodder here on forums), which gives an amazing 35% crushing blow, meaning that each ~3rd of your attacks will take a nice healthy chunk out of an uber's life.

For that skiller, you are better off buying Dracs, yes, since Life Tap is an essential part of an Uber Smiter, and you can't have switching your weapon to wand all the time (You'll die). Another worthy buy would be a Metalgrid - as far as I am concerned, ~30ish resists goes for around Pul-Um, and it is a pretty solid amulet for any melee character (resists, AR, defense).
 
I forgot to mention that I did have goblin toe on for CB. Nonetheless I was able to get gore and drac, so I am happy. :) Hopefully just a little more work and I'll start ubering.
 
Okay another couple questions.

The first is with "remaining points in defiance or blessed aim". Is there a better or worse option here? Better to alternate? My pally currently has 4584 AR with zeal, and 909 defense before holy shield (3726 afterwards) if that matters.

Second, I now have an Ist rune to trade that I don't need, and was wondering the same question as before...what would be the best thing(s) for me to get with this rune for this build? My smiter is only for doing ubers, nothing else.

lr: 91 (capped at 75)

If you are using a weapon with ITD it's pretty pointless to pump Blessed Aim. If you are talking about pure ubers then neither would be pretty effective (almost all the stuff in their are elemental) assuming you are using an ITD weapon, which you are right now (Lightsabre). If you plan on switching to a weapon that lacks ITD you may want to pump BA. However if not, and your smiter is purely ubers, I would recommend to pump the resist auras. 2 hard points in an aura gives +1 maximum resist of that element. I assume your resists you displayed are WITH Meph's conviction. In that case it would certainly be a good idea to pump resist lightning, especially since you have all that extra LR going to waste.

Get fort, you will get more resists and lots of life. Also replace that shield with griswolds shield(can be had for pgems) and socket with 3 pdiamonds for 102 all resist.

I will try for both of those, did not realize I could get fortitude for ist!

Do you agree that extra points should go into resist lightning for the passive?


 
My 1pt smiter uses Thundergod's for the close-to-lightning immunity (I laugh at the Souls, really!), and I pump Defiance right now, for the synergy to Holy Shield (I have taken to liking huge defense amounts lately).

As for Guillaume's: just make a thread on the respective Trade Forum. You will easily find one there and buy it fast, provided you have the pgems.

thats what i suggest, i am also using tgods and pumping defiance
