Nope, but rumor has it that Baal outside of Trist is actually a bit harder... I know he doesn't drop for me quite as quickly as his uber form, and I think it has to do with the way the game calculates CB vs. hit points... Normal Baal has less, and thus, CB is far less effective... Perhaps someone more schooled in this can shine some light on this?

Also, in re guards to the shield dilemma... I like Zakarum shields... Minimum and maximum damage numbers are both high, and close together, and the smite damage and block rate are nothing to turn your nose up at either... It's the most well rounded shield you can get, and it looks sexy too...

ya got shafted on the sanctuary...used +31 res sacred targe and got +85 res :/ ....is the only way to get res up to use +all chrms cuz im not gettin anywhere near enough with just an ammy and rings...perhaps pdiamond in guillaumes but thats still not enough...im no good at this pally stuff :(

Less HP does not equate to slower kill by CB, mathematically speaking. I mean, if uber Baal has higher HP, after a few blows, his HP reduces to that of hell Baal, and they are in the same condition.

You sure it isn't the player count?

I'm new to this forum , although ive been readng it a lot lately.
I like Diablo 2 LoD, but ive understood that there is a lt i still have to learn.

At the moment i play on Europe realm, all chars are ladder.

I have 2 main chars - lvl86 mfsorc, and now also a lvl 76 1pt smiter.

I would realy appreciate if You would give me some advice cencorning my pala's gear, as i am not a rich player (the most valuable items atm are tal set, low zaka :( )

My pala:
lvl76

guillames face socketed with 34 % dmg jewel (is this worth wasting a socket ?)

Guardian Angel's templar Coa (not socketed, but i can do it in sort time, just give advice on what to scket it with)

Low Gore rider boots
Draculs gloves
Low zaka with perfect diamond
Heavens light ith 2 shaels (speed spretty nice)
Thundergods (alernatives atm - string of ears :( )
Seraphs amul 2/1
2 raven frots 20 dex (can switch one for dwarf star or smth else)

Have maxed out zeal, fanat, sacrifice (i probably should have maxed out holy shiel earlier...)

have 1100 life. have no res charms atm , but can get them quite easy i guess.

I would be thankful to see advices on what to socket, what to changee (taking in mind i aint a rich player)

i think that the player count might have something to do with it...im lvl 80 and i was tryin to kill in full game where most were 90+... :thumbsup: anyways, still having a problem with my res...my gear
guillaumes face (open socket)
grief pb
low sanctuary(+85 res)
drac
gore
string of ears (for leech, dmg reduction)
fort (+30 res)
highlords
rings - 5LL 30 lightning res, 30 cold/poison res....
backup weps are wizzy and almost p hoz
just strugglin with my res thats all...i have a decent anni but dont want to put on this char for the +19 res, u know?

In a full game, you will never kill it fast.. it takes 1-2min.

You already have the good stuff (fort, grief). If you want more resists, switch your belt for Credendum (+15 res) and socket your helmet with Um (+15 res).
Also, why not a Ravenfrost ring? Get one with 18+dex... this way you save 18 points for vita. The other ring can be Dwarf Star or Wisp Protector. You're almost ready, IF you have resist charms and/or prebuff with Fade.

just switched rings over to dwarf and raven..belt is tgods for now...lookin into the um for helm....what is the prebuff with fade ur talkin about?? new to the pally terms...thx for all the help so far...

This is what you need: 5% Chance To Cast Level 15 Fade When Struck

You equip treachery, go to some place where a lot of monsters hit you.. in a few seconds, Fade will activate, and you will have +65 res for 5 minutes. Once its activated, go back to town, put your Fortitude and go kill the ubers.
Do it fast, you have 5 minutes with +65 res. It owns!

The first thing that I'd change is your amulet,seraph's isn't anything special. Highlord's,metalgrid,a rare,even a mara is better for this build. Then I'd take a look in the armor department.Duress is an affordable solution that offers cb and resists,smoke or duriel's shell are cheaper alternatives. Try to pump your vitality,1100 is a bit low,paladins can do better.



 
Nine: did anyone tell you to run salvation until meph is dead? If you still have problems with resists that should solve your problem. If you walk all the way around the outside of town you should hit mephs minions (and therefore meph) first.
 
i had thought about it but wasnt sure i should turn that on instead of fanatic...also...about the helm...putting an um in the guillaumes was suggested...i already have an "um"ed andy vis...how would that work?...slowly but surely almost there :) come a long way in 2 days
 
Yeah, with twinked items its bit too easy.

That's why i been doing ubertrist with crap gear lately, just for fun. Been trying out difrent classes too.

So far successfully soloed it with:

Grissworld smiter
Ik baba
Frenzy baba
Fury druid
Kick assa
Summon necro
Wolf barb
Auradin

And some other builds which i can't remember right now.
Gonna try melee sorc next.

Well, tonight was the night I started my journey becoming a trist runner. I got the keys destruction, terror, hate and entered the furnace after perming the game for 5 min. things were running smooth...then...the game froze on me. Now I had a second character in there with me, but both were locked down so I exit the game and tried to enter and no avail, was disconnected.

I have like all you spent the time making your pally. I even took it further by making 2 classic sorc to rush mules through for runes. This allowed me to get a few items. I have been fortunate to find most of my items. From mara's, duriel's armor, phase blade, nightsmoke, all resist charms, etc.. that I was so ready.

Now after one hour of re-doing nithlak for key I'm getting owned by these temple lizards that throw a mean poison ball. My resist are maxed so no idea why I'm taking a beating. Here's my gear:

Guillmaune's - Um rune
Gorerider's
Drac's 10LL
Duriel's shell - Um rune
Vortex shield - 99resist
Grief
Ravenfrost
Nightsmoke - upgraded
resist ring with leech
mara's

I figure I'm around total resist is maxed 75 plus 70 leaving me 55 covered by salvation. I have approx 1100hp's which is low I know as I put too many points into strength.( I didn't have all the gear I have now) I am level 83 so all points now go in vitality.

Also, is lawbringer the best end solution on dealing with physical immunes?? seems there quite a few down in nith's chamber. Need a weapon switch to deal with them. Thanks for the continued advice....

Forgot one more thing, is there anything out there that prevents corpse explosion??

The tomb vipers clouds deal hidden psychical damage per frame. The damage is like 50 dmg per frame. 24 frames in second, 24 x 50 = 1.2k damage in second. That's why you die so quickly.

Get a item / items with integer psychical damage reduction, such as Gladiators bane, items with amicae mod, items with socketed with sol runes.

Even if you get around 30 PDR from gear they will deal only 500 damage per second which is alot better.
 
well...first uber went pretty good i think....i died on lillith...poison got me....but ubers were cake walk...brought a hdin along for crowd control so it was even easier....it wasnt until afterward that i realized that i took down meph without salvation and didnt pot :) thanks for the build...great job...
