The 1pt smiter guide to Uber Tristram v 1.0.

shackleton Smite does not use AR, if you are missing using zeal then Blessed Aim can be used to help boost up your AR, if not go with Defiance.

1. For PI's the usual solution is a high elemental damage weapon on switch, the fire from torch can be enough to kill them if you take the time, or getting a CTC Amp/Decrep will remove most PI.
2. When going inside UT leave the merc out of it, he usually causes more trouble than he is worth. What merc are you using?

Physical immunes.

Either hit them with an elemental weapon / ctc amp or decrip weapon or run away.

Gimmershreds are still popular due to this need. Azurewrath is an alright choice against undead PI since its aura negates all their physical resistance to 0. Although a Lawbringer or even 1 pt Sanctuary (if you can't get Azurewrath) will get the job done. Nice alternative is Lacerators but Gimmershreds is better due to it being very compact.

2. Uber smiters usually do it alone without merc so do not worry about him.

Thanks for the suggestions guys. I like the idea of using a Passion switch, seems cheap and I know my barbs 1pt berserk destroys PI's. I currently have a Holy freeze merc and i'm attempting to get him a reaper's toll so that should also help with PI's. Vamp gaze seems like a good merc helm for the life leach, as far as armor I wasn't really sure though.

Hi all.
Really nice guide. Thanks to the author.
Maybe what concerns me is already answered but i can`t read all the 283 pages.
So to the point. Is Verdundo good for this build. It gives high vita bonus which seems to be very helpfull.

Shaft/Stone/Fort/Gbane can all be great armors for your merc

Verds can be an alright belt for this build, there are others which I would pick first depending on the rest of your gear, Tgods is great for the lighting sob, Rare for resists/stats, if your not lacking resists or there are no glaring holes in your build by all means toss on the Verds

As BAMF points out, the belt depends a ton on what else you've got.

Dungos gives you 30-40 vitality, but remember that T-Gods gives you 20, so the difference isn't as big as it first looks. Still, the FHR and DR are both nice, especially if you're getting hit and suffering. But since most smiters have some kind of life tap in play, that big red ball doesn't go down much (IM excepted :-). Which reminds me that the Vitality isn't such a big deal anyway.

T-Gods is sweet, because of that huge lightning absorb and the extra 10 to lightning max. (I used to run and hide from those Gloams--now they're childs play. :-) But I especially like the nice little Fist of Heaven that pops out every now and then. Whap!

The Guide mentions IK and Credendum as inexpensive alternates. Both are resist belts. Credendum gives you 15 all, plus a 10 pt bump to strength. IK loads up your lightning and fire (about 30 each) and a 25 bump to str.

Personally, I'm a huge T-Gods fan. Whap!

I assume the "rich, +damage" build would be more than capable of taking out the mini-ubers also? If so, I will have to try one soon. Thanks.

i have a question..i tried this build with the rich gear setup and i am not hitting any where close to what the damage that you state i shud have.

I am hitting 674-753 smite dmg.

i am using

Grief PB
Fortitude DS
Metalgrid
2xravens
tgods
dracs
guillamas
Gores
hoz non up'd

Skills

20zeal
20sacrifice
20fana
1smite
20 HS
1 to salvation and rest in defiance

i am level 85

So what am i doin wrong here??

The only thing you are doing wrong is trusting the Character Screen. The damage for Smite shown does not factor in +dmg from Grief. There is a great thread floating around here about the damage output from Smite when using Grief.

The non-elite shield doesn't help your damage, but with Grief the damage isn't a huge loss.

Non-upped hoz shows lower damage (DUH!) but grief's damage isn't shown so your damage looks a whole lot lower than it is.

I know that everyone says making Sanctuary in an Elite Paladin Shield would be best, but I'm having one hell of a time finding a 3os Elite Shield, so I was wondering if a Royal Shield with +37 resists 172Def would be sufficient, or if I should continue trying to acquire an Elite Shield?

Depending on your funds the Royal Shield could be a nice stop gap while you continue to search for the elite base shield. Just tossing some Pdiamonds into a pally shield with base resist can be the stop gap.

So here's an interesting pair of questions about unused points and physical immunes:
i have 10 unused skill points on my lvl 88 1pt smiter ... My question is do i put them in defiance or blessed aim ...
Jungle Boy
For PI's the usual solution is a high elemental damage weapon on switch, the fire from torch can be enough to kill them if you take the time, or getting a CTC Amp/Decrep will remove most PI.
So I'm in the same situation as mastermine ... after max zeal, fanat, sacrifice and holy shield, i've still got a handful of unallocated skill points AND a desire to be able to handle PIs by myself. I'm already hauling around CTA for the BO switch, and the idea of carrying yet another switch for PIs seems annoying.

What about using a bunch of skill points on blessed hammer? I've already got a point in there as a prereq. My gear bumps it to 9. Blessed Aim is bumped to 7. If I stick another 11 points in it, I'll have a level 20 hammer and 7 levels of Aim as synergy?

Would that kill those annoying PIs?

Or maybe Conviction? (Does that actually help against PIs?) But that takes a whopping 4 prereq points. Which means my 11 spare points only raise Conviction to 7, plus my 7 from equipment and it's a level 14 finished product. Would 14 conviction take care of these guys?

Help? Thanks!

I ended up making a "passion" phase blade for my switch weapon, as suggested earlier, and the berserk destroys PI's pretty quick. I decided I didn't want a CTC to cast amp or decrep because it would overwrite my lifetap. I got lucky and found a nice rare with some good elemental damage for my merc and he also helps with the PI's. I've also been puting my extra points in defiance for the defence boost. With a fort armor and chilling armor active I think I get over 15k defense. CTA would be nice for the BO but I haven't got the goods for that yet.

Reapers is a great merc weapon for the CTC Decrep, yes it overrides Life Tap but it's not usually a big deal in general pvm for you to last until Life Tap triggers again.

While BH seems good, your skills are not exactly where I would place them. Hammers get more damage from Concentration than actual skill points. You could place your points into Concentration and use the level 9 hammers. I'm not sure how well this would work. Also the +skills into synergies do not, help with extra damage, so your Blessed Aim will be level 1 when factoring into BH damage. I would either go with Gimmers/Passion/Reapers on merc.

Conviction does not take away PI, IIRC.
