I havent tried but, as far as I know, smiters are the usual Dclone killers, so you probably could :thumbup:

My best advice for soloing Uber Izual is to use Zeal for all normal mobs (easily faster than Smiting) *unless in the presence of the IM mages.* If you notice some mages around, swap to Smite which is more easily discontinued mid-mob-kill.

Zealing with IM on is guaranteed to kill you instantly, even with a crummy weapon (I kill myself with Lightsabre). But I do think it's doable if you sacrifice a little speed when near the mages.

If you can afford it, grab an Enigma to tele over to Izual/Lilith (and if you can't afford it, you can afford a Teleport Amulet or Naj's Staff). That way you may only have one IM mage pack to deal with.

Even the cheapest (but proper) smiter build according to this guide should have NO problem with Diablo Clone. Uber trist is much more difficult than the Clone. While I never had the luck to kill the clone, I am sure if you can do Uber trist, The Clone will be piece of cake!

While the Furnace is usually the most difficult place for smiter, it CAN be done. Depending on the roll you might do it in 5 minutes or in 30 minutes.

For the IM problem, if you are still using the smiter there are 2 options that come to mind right now:
1) try to spread the guys a little bit and go close to them. When you are close to an OK, they will cast decrep, not IM, however if there is an OK farther but on the same screen he may cast IM.

2) Make Passion and use Berserk! (4 OS Weapon: Dol, Ort, Eld, Lem)

The option of using a bow is not really viable (I tried with a WF and lvl 20 Fana)

Most people though, just use their overpowered hdins to tele and clear everything.

just wondering, is Zaka totally useless for smiting? its not mentioned in the guide witch made me wonder if its crap for some reason... I found myself a 195% one and got P Dimond in it, see no reason to change if it can be used for this uber tristam pala

I assume you talk about the Herald of Zakarum Gilded shield.
There are a few problems with it:

1) Low smite damage -> you need to Up it
2) Low final resists (even with Pdiamond) -> 69@ compared to >100@ in 4 OS paladin shields

It is not a bad shield, but you need to get resists from somewhere else in Uber trist.
If you don't have Grief... consider upping it as the base damage is pretty low.

I can upgrade it + put UM in instead and get +3 more all res, but that aint much ofc. Could make a nice buck on it and then get Grisworld with Pdiamons or some 4 soc elite shield just with high base ressist? Thou afaik the 4 soc Sacred targe cost insanely much if they got nice base resist to

Well... I think the HoZ's are very much wanted by the hdins since they give +skills, high defense, block and resists. Therefore, you should get a pretty good price for it.

Now, I haven't played in quite a while and with the "recent" ladder reset I don't know the prices and how much duping is happening, so you might wanna get a price check on it in the Trade section for your realm, so that u get a good deal.

Technically speaking, either Gris or 4 soc Elite paladin shield with "good" base resists is better for Uber trist than the HoZ.

If the sacred Rondaches are too expensive for your taste just take ANY elite Paladin shield with 40+ res all. The price difference between 40 and 44 or 45 is not really worthy if you are not filthy rich!

The block % is almost the same... It is recommended to have 75% block, but when I was experimenting even 70% was decent... and after all you will just need some more dex (Cat's Eye amulet comes to mind)

This said, HoZ can be worth a bit, but technically you'll want a gris or 4os Elite pala shield. Go for gris if your block would be too low with a "plain" shield.

Guess im selling my HoZ then, from checking prices seems its woth almost 10 times as much as Gris shield, so i will have abit leftover for other fun for the pala , like rings/amus witch i got no clue for yet
I got 130 unspent stat points at lvl 89, so i can corret "any" error i made in that field if necessary

The Gris shield is a very viable shield to use for the ubers, there is better and there is worse.

Would you guys suggest defiance or blessed aim as a point dump after maxing the essentials?

When fighting say uber meph, how does the fight work? I've never had a zealot.

Do you smite until he's very low and then zeal him or continually smite the whole fight? I couldn't figure that out from the original guide.

Going for the best gear i can afford from the guide. Atm i got:

Guillaume Face
Cats eye amulet (was going for Highlords)
254% Stormlash
195% Herald of Zakarum (no PD atm)
9%ll, 12 str Drac gloves
IK Belt
192% Gore Rider
Rare ring 1: 7% ll, 3 min dmg, 32 AR, 15 Light Res
Rare ring 2: 6% ll, 37 mana, 30 cold res, 18 fire res.
I got a dwarf star in chest.

My resists are pretty crap, planning to move some of the charms from my MF sorc over to this one if needed. On hell without shield my resists are:
-19 fire
+21 cold
-19 light
-55 poison

Keep in mind that I have used no sockets on items yet, so can get abit from that too.

For a zealot/smiter the strategy is as follows:
- zeal the minions with an ITD fast wep
- smite the bosses with loads of Crushing blow
Note that u can have both with the same gear.

Maxing blessed aim is pointless IMO, 1 pt is enough.
After you max Fanaticism, Holy Shield, Zeal, Sacrifice, and have the "utility" skills (salvation, etc) you could dump the rest in defiance.

Anyhow after u get the essentials the rest of the points are pretty much leftover, you may do whatever you want with them. there's no straight forward answer.

When fighting the ubers... it can be pretty easy or very hard, depending on luck, approach, skills, and setup.
You want to go north right from the portal, then go down the river about 1 screen then approach the town center through the two buildings, once you spawn an uber you essentially want to fight him right away and ignore everything else. Fight one uber at a time (only with SMITE), after he's dead, zeal the minions.

Don't be disappointed if u fail the first time, without very expensive gear everyone can die in there... it can get out of hand pretty easily... Then there's the lag.... hehe

As a poor man's gear that has enough CB, I keep it on because it also gives 45%IAS, and other nice mods.
If you want you can change back to Duress after u faded, just remember it only lasts a bit over 4 minutes.

Yes it is possible... but i died many times using the redeemer (which has more damage than Lightsabre and -33% target defense) while zealing than with the Lightsabre.

Smite takes only a couple weapon mods, and has ITD against ANYTHING, that's why u use it against bosses, because if u miss u die.
Against minions it's not really worth using smite, zeal is much more efficient.
Maybe but a Rune in the Wep? (-25% enemy defense or ITD)

If you are happy zealing with that weapon against regular play throughout the game then fine.

P.S. don't forget Lightsabre also has 25% Lightning absorb!

Isnt cresent moon any good for 1pt zealer/smiter?? since you are using zeal most of the time for key farming ect i dont understand why cresent moon isnt a good and cheap solution (only UM as expencive rune) its has all the good stuff; ignore targets defence, openwounds, static on striking, 20 AS, all of this for sheal um tir is low budget and good zeal weap imo.. you can always switch to redeemer or even black for smiting if needed for ubers for example.
if you make it in a bit heavyer sword then PB for example mythical sword -10 speed you hit the same speed cap with highlords and +15as jewel, and with the static field you pack a good punch.

Most sites and guides i see say greif. thats fine but i have a few questions regarding that. I know the +x damage on the weapon will not add damage to your smite. Will the +x Enhance damage add damage to your smite.

Instead of using Greif why not use last wish its way better from what i can tell. yes its more expensive but is that the only reason people dont use it.

I have read both Sanctuary and Exile.

With Exile you dont get as much res as Sanc but you get + to skills and you get freazes target which will be nice when im not ubering. you get more life tap which is nice but probly not needed if you have 16 full rejuve

with Sanc you get beter chance to block wich saves you dex with gives you health you also get 20 dex so thats more points into vit and you get a nice 50-70 res, with Kira's thats a fair amount of res you wont have to worry about much.

which is beter here, is there a beter one in your opinion

So with Kira's you dont need a Raven frost. I dont realy know what a good buy would be for rings. BK??? the lift steal would be nice when PVM but it woulnt work with smite. Im at a loss here too.

People say Metalgrid and i dont know why. im not well versed in necro curses so do people get it for the changes on the ammy or for the res? if its the res why not Mara's? need help here too.
