Hello.
My friend and I have been trying to play through Tcp/Ip or Open Bnet, but somehow, we can't join each other's game:lipsrsealed: . Does anyone know why?

1. Do you have a firewall (Windows firewall, Norton, etc.). You may need to disable the firewall to play online (I do).
2. Also, make sure the host is is using an external IP address, and not one assigned by your home-network. The easiest way to find your 'real' IP is to go to: www.whatismyip.com
Never disable your firewall, it's your primary defense against network attacks!
Just add a rule for Diablo2 (we are talking about application firewalls like Sunbelt-Kerio, Zonealarm, default WinXP FW..)
The host must have public IP address, those starting with 192.168.. are not public. To check your IP address, select Startmenu/ Run.. type cmd and press Enter to run the command console. Then type ipconfig (winipcfg in win98) and press Enter.
If you don't have public IP, your computer cannot be seen by others in the internet. Thus you cannot host, unless you have the appropriate port forwarded to your internal address, and the client (your friend) uses the public IP of your router while joining.
