Switch between Normal and Nightmare?

I am a Diablo beginner and tried to get an answer to this question in the NewB forum but was directed here. Maybe you guys have answer?

I finished off Diablo (playing in PvM) and then got a question to play Normal or Nightmare. I went straight to nightmare but realised that my 27 lvl zealot was not nearly good enough yet.... But now I can't seem to find a way to get this character back to Normal? Any advice?

Since you beat normal, you will have to either create the normal games yourself, or use a character that has not beat normal to see the games that are up.

But that is if you are playing on Battle.net or online or something? If I play by myself, single player, PvM... It is different then, right? How do I move back to normal to get more practice for my character before nightmare?

You should be able to select the difficulty when you are making the game, though I'll have to give it a go. Which patch are you playing though ? It should say a version somewhere.
I'll be testing in v1.12

I have version 1.12. I guess that when I chose Nightmare I created the game. But how do I re-create it without having to kill Diablo first?

When you make the game with your Zealot, you should always have the option to select normal or nightmare.
Also, you may just want to kill Diablo again for the XP and the items.
I can understand that you don't want to take your Zealer near those Iron Maiden casting Oblivion Knights though. IM probably kills you rather fast.

Mind you, your Zealer should be able to hold his own in the first section of nightmare(up to the first waypoint) while still getting nice XP there. If need be, bring more healing potions.
