Strangely colored game names

Anyone know how these people make their game names all...pretty colors? Normal tan just gets boring after a while. Plus, it draws the eye!

P.S.: Gimme two minutes, I'll upload a screenshot of what I'm talking about.

If I had to guess, it would be from a hack. Don't bots advertise in channels with colors anymore? Its probably along the same lines as that.

I don't think it's a hack.

I think it's the same as putting color in your profile, which does not require a hack.

I'll try it anyway...

edit: I can't seem to pull it off. No clue how they do it then.



 
It should be quite similar. However, I don't know how to put colors in my profile either...so yeah. Assume you're talking to a monkey.

Just to be clear, you can't do this legitimately? It requires third-party programs or whatever?
 
It's a name spoofing sort of software that let's you totally rename a game with colors or not. If a game is called Help Anya in colors, it's actually not, and you won't be able to type anything to join the game only join it from the game list.

(I know this because my friend told me)

@Dondrei I wouldn't call it a third party software, it's like coloring your profile, although (obviously) I wouldn't recommend it, for account safety reasons.

Yeah you know when you right click yourself in the channel, there's a site or somewhat that lets you make colored fonts and almost totally customize your profile lol.
 
This has been occuring for years. I'm surprised it's still so rare though. It must be difficult/time consuming to do though, otherwise people would make "free here21" games and mf in them, it must take too long to be worth using that purpose.
 
I'm quite sure that it's not a third-party program. If I had thought it might be, I wouldn't have posted it here. However, I do think that it isn't a feature that's included on the normal D2 interface. AFAIK, you'd have to type something in like, MS Word, then paste it into the bar...something like that. If I knew, I wouldn't be asking...
