strafer help - getting owned

Heya guys.

Scenario - SP untwinked glass cannon 'zon build. No ATMA, no time for endless MF (don't play enough).

I'm in act 1 Hell, level 74, getting obliterated in /players 1.

Yes, yes, GLASS cannon build. But I'm more referring to my killing speed, er, lack thereof. :wave:

Stats (with gear):

WHAT CAN I DO?! I'm barely denting the monsters. Any advice appreciated, but keep in mind I would rather not spend hours and hours doing MF runs. I tried doing some NM /players 8 baals today and even that is painfully slow. :coffee:

Notting.

If you don't find a good bow, bowazon are weak. So your best option is to try and get a good bow. You're best odds are trying to gamble/imbue - elite!! - a good bow. Or try running countess or something for some runes.

P.S. what runes did your (nightmare) hell forge give you? Perhaps you can make a decent bow you don't know of.

My main advise is to start with an other character that is more suited towards untwinked play. And try using that character to atleast get a decent bow before you go back to this character - you will need atma for this.

P.P.S. and try getting some more levels at nightmare baal. Level 74 isn't very high. So what is your cth, it might - although I think damage is the main problem - be a problem if it's low.

As NASE says, its all about the bow(for a physical damage bowazon). Also the amulet/rings set that gives huge AR(dont remember the name), is very good. They drop quite freqently.
You skills seems ok, but you could have done without the skills in FA, its either 0pt, 1pt or max it, and its too late for maxing it(and the synergie). Also 3pts each in DAE wasny needed, 1pt each is enough. Get Critical Strike up to lvl 16 and max Strafe(more minimum arrows)

Yeah, I figured it was the bow that needed fixing. I was hoping for the opportunity to up it, but I haven't found the lem(?) yet.
Too bad it always resorts back to finding better gear. /players 1 hell shouldn't be so hard you can't get through it untwinked (or at least without going an act every 2 weeks :wave: )

Side note: the four points in FA are from the Kuko. It adds plus 3 to Bow and Crossbow skills. I put one hard point in it for crowd control.

I think my AR is fairly decent but I'll keep my eye out for Angelic. Thanks guys

Don't bother upping that bow. If you are on bnet, you can easily trade your perfect gems for the runes for say harmony. By the way, lem is for upping armor, not weapon.

Melody, harmony or edge maybe ? Tir ith sol ko...the ko will be hard to find on SP, but with enough countess runs and rune conversions you could do it.

Maybe even a 4-6 os elite bow. You could try doing nm chaos runs with players /1 or whatever lets you fly through it FAST. You can find lots of gems and runes in there since there are so many monsters. You might be able to kill stuff fast enough to farm jewels. Then, put any damage jewels into a 4 or 6os bow.

Ha ha!!! Your ama must be very brave girl... Allmost as brave as I was stupid when I spent first hour of LoD, v .10 killing Hell Ancients with my clvl 67 bowazon wielding proudly... Kuko :whistling: After this... trauma... I come to conclussion that amazons are not playable any more... so...

I can only repeat what *AnimeCraze said - do NOT upgrade Kuko. Harmony is cheaper and WAY better. You need a good base though. Melody or Edge are not doing well in Hell dif - don´t even concider them.

You can still play in NM and collect tons of pgs. For pgs You can buy Ko but even wws (this one IS worth upgrading) or other good enough bow... I have bought recently Mavina´s bow and armor for 20 pgs. What´s a problem?... And - Yes - it is hard to beat this game playing untwinked ama.

It is possible though. You can find in NM everything You need to manage Hell... I really belive it... since I got Ist drop in Ancients Way NM :thumbup:

Kuko? :girly: Bow is your problem. Where do you play? If on nl east I can hook you up with a WF or low faith cheap. Wfs are not that expensive these days and its still a hell of a bow. Even WW or Eaglehorn would do it. If you are on SP then you need to find a better bow and use a well equipped merc. Or play summoner necro who can go naked through hell.

Sorry, I just noticed you said SP. Why not consider to re-do her on Bnet. leveling is quick and the gear you have now you could get pretty quick. And you could trade for a good bow. Good luck.

NM farming it is. Started a baba too, so perhaps I'll get ATMA and start stashing away some better equipment.

I am not sp but if memory serves ATMA makes these runewords available on sp... Correct me if I am wrong, please...

I think atma works different, atma is simply a program that performs mule capacity. If atma were to make items, it would not be accepted by the single player community. It is my understanding that you need RWM if you want ladder only runewords in single player.

P.S. spunky, why do you start with a barbarian. they are just as weapon and armour depending as amazons and on top of that, you need to play much better then amazons and there aren't many/any guides that go over the needed tactics to play an untwinked barbarian. Really, there are much easier builds that will still give you enough challenge in hell.

Yes, RWM it was... and it seems to be accepted to some extent on SP forum:

CRM - colour rune mod - needs declaring (not acceptable in the Bnet trade forums)
modified .dll to run multiple instances - needs declaring (not acceptable in the rest of diii.net)

These are the *only* mods and utilities allowed to come into contact with the items/characters/stashes to be traded here.

spunk gimme a pm, if you're east/sc/nl i'll gladly give you a better bow then a kuko. I have a few that i'm not using and probably wont..that are much nicer then kuko. Gimme a pm and ill try to help ya out sometime.

Spunk, I play Single Player exclusively. While I only have one Windforce (sorry, not giving that up), I'd be happy to give you an upgraded Witchwild String, Goldstrike Arch, or Eaglehorn - I've been playing for years, and have plenty of these. Any of those should be sufficient to allow you to finish Hell. We'll need to either meet in a TCP/IP game or you download ATMA in order to transfer it, but I'll be available in about three hours or so and could help you out then. Spunky, if you let me know when you're available, I can create a game you can access via TCP / IP, and I can just drop the bow on the ground. They're just sitting there gathering digital dust at the moment. Or, I'm sure there is a way other Mac using Single Players have adapted - the Single Player Forum shoudl be able to advise, I would expect. I'll see what I can find out. Not to nag or anything, though a smiter/zealalot seems quite item depending aswell. You could go with elemental zealalot though your smite won't be strong.

I'm not an expert, so I might be mistaken though I fear you will face the same problem. Zealers are item depending.
