Starting from which Rune are they considered as HR?

Sorry for asking such noob question. :(

I did read through sticklies but seems there is no real definition of it. Is it classified as Um+ ? or Ist+? Thank you. :)

on useast ladder hr considered starting mal (except gul). Also cham, sur and zod are hard to trade and some people dont even count tham as hr (maybe like .75-.5 hr). And sometimes mal and ist are even worth more than hr (can gel +ko, +lem,or +pul). Also sometimes um is counted as hr. Economy is really crazy on useast ladder and values varies everyday.

A high rune is one people need a lot of, which is a bit silly. That'll teach Bliz for being careless with which runes were more useful than which.

For me on USwest Ladder it's Pul+ with Cham, Sur, and Zod at being 2hr+. For other people on USwest Ladder it starts with Um.

If we're talking about the pure definition of a high rune, then its Vex+. However, as some have already mentioned, the economy has made it so as less valuable runes will get you runes in the HR category, thus making them HRs. However, each realm is different, so YMMV.

Three classifications are divided equally from the thirty-three letters of the old alphabet:

Common runes: El-Amn (available from normal Hellforge);
Uncommon runes: Sol-Um (available from nightmare Hellforge);
Rare runes: Mal-Zod (only Hel-Gul available from hell Hellforge).

Because there are eleven in each group, they must be divided 3/4/4 in sub-classifications:

Low commons: El, Eld, Tir;
Mid commons: Nef, Eth, Ith, Tal;
High commons: Ral, Ort, Thul, Amn.

Low uncommons: Sol, Shael, Dol;
Mid uncommons: Hel, Io, Lum, Ko;
High uncommons: Fal, Lem, Pul, Um.

Low rares: Mal, Ist, Gul (hell forgeable);
Mid rares: Vex, Ohm, Lo, Sur;
High rares: Ber, Jah, Cham, Zod.

Since Mal and higher are rare, people may refer to them all as HRs, while others only speak of unforgeable runes, meaning only mid-high rare runes are considered HRs.

I would say Vex and upwards is a HR. Other people see it differently, but that doesn't mean other runes aren't worth a HR such as Pul, Um, Mal and Ist.

So where can Vex+ drop from?

I have been doing Hell 'The Countess' for MFing & collecting runes.

Would you recommend this is also a good target for hunting runes? Thanks.

Definately. I also run the countess regularly for runes and keys.

Another good rune source is to rush people through NM for hellfroge. Risky business imo with the amount of people that will skip out without paying.

The Countess is much safer.

And there's the chance she'll drop keys too.
