~ SPHC Ladder Part V ~

I was curious to know you guy's opinion of getting "twinked" in Ladder. Is it acceptable but frowned upon or what?

I received Bartuc's, and Im contemplating on using them or not...

Nightmare is a PITA with a meele char. I had some problems on players 4... I'm using some crappy magic cleaver.
 
Well, that was short.

Bullseye_Baby met her demise in The Cave. She accidentally got sandwiched between 3 or 4 Fallen in a narrow spot and could not move. Her merc and valk were off fighting other critters and could not come to help. Poor management on my part.

Are ranged weapons completely useless at close-range in NM and Hell? She kept shooting but she couldn't hit anything. I'd seen this before but had never been in this particular situation and just backed off a bit. This time she couldn't back up and her arrows just seemed to go nowhere.

So, I've met Hell for the first time and it kicked my butt. Lots of lessons learned. The big question is, how to improve for next time. My next zon will be another strafezon (I'll keep trying until I get it right). I guess I'll have to break down and take a look at the zon guides.

I'm not too upset about the loss. I've never gotten this far before and I could see pretty clearly what was about to happen. With all her flaws, I think she did ok. Pity to lose the WWS, though. My grail still needs one.

Twinking is okay as long as the item was found by another SPHCL character. So if you got the Bartucs of someone who found them with a SPHCL characetr then that would be fine, if they were found by a character not on the SPHCL then you can't use them.

I think thats correct but I'm fairly new to the SPHCL myself so someone else had better make sure thats right.

What dodgydave said is correct. Twinking is only allowed from other characters on the SPHCL. Many players choose not to twink at all, as if playing HC in 1.10 needed more challenge... :teeth:

z3r0- : be patient, you must have missed the post by Borlag indicating how many RL things he has going on. Play your char and update here, Borlag will get to it.

Condolences Tragor. Hell is HARD!! in 1.10. Good luck on your next char.

To all who asked, vacation was great. I caught salmon off the west coast and saw friends and family.

Clarise has now advanced to the flayer jungle, and found the brain and eye of Khalim. She is now lvl 28, and using Blade Fury to great effect, using a war hammer to provide good weapon dmg. Slowly the LS is getting better too, but it will still take a lot before it really does that much dmg. This build is starting to feel a bit like an Amazon... stand back, let the tanks run interference and launch stuff from a distance. Now I wish I had muled off the Earthshaker from my avenger before he died, that would make a sweet BF weapon. What she really needs is knockback and crushing blow, and then she will kick some monster arse.

sad news from me this time, I was really bored of playing SC and decided to do some meph runs lately. the " only" good finds were dracul's gasp & gore rider, along with some others exep that I already have.
The sad part was today when a stygian doll boss pack hunted down me in durance 2.
well, back to the other chars now (almost forgotten ;)) or start a new one, haven't decided yet...

I did find Cathans. Pfft. I never would have believed the day that I would care that Cathans dropped. But I need that LL sooo bad.

My condoleances Pucho and tragor. Looks like high level chars are dying all over the place these days.

I learned my lesson though with this recent loss. I'm not very upset about the loss of my char, but I'm pretty angry on myself because her stash was full
of good gear. I should have muled off everything except her MF gear.

seeing all those monsters shatter and break into pieces :).

@crazy_bear: You were right about the fact that I will make her soon Guardian.:)
 
Oh, that's what I said! That equipment is a tough loss XorceR. Lesson learned I guess, but that sucks.

What is it, guardian death week on the SPHCL? Tough loss Pucho.

I'm making up for lost time in the last 2 weeks here. Clarise made lvl 31, and the RoF WP. Is it just me, or does the Shadowmaster AI really bite? At least the lightning traps are starting to do some damage (even though she has to drink a blue every time she lays out a full 5 traps at once) and a bit of mana leech (3%) seems to be enough to keep the mana bulb full using BF.
A sol dropped in the Outer Steppes, but then I only got an eth from the Hellforge.... Oh well. Time to make a 'Lore' helm.

Good thing i read this today, as ive just started pit running with my guardian!!!!! I'll be sure to be EXTRA careful!!!! :lol:

So far in 2 runs, i found a green round shield, a unique quilted armor (yippeee! my 1st one!!), plus i found this cool +2 druid skills earth spirit helm!

I gain about 3 - 4 million exp in one pit run (players 1 = safety), meaning ill do about 15 - 20 before i level up, im guessing.

Guardian Allanon, lev 83 ShockBear-Using-Armageddon.

Welll my freezzealot is working his way through act 5 Nightmare. He have reached the Ancient Ways WP and will soon encounter the Ancients (Swallows hard).
He is at level 70 and have maxed all skills which improve my damage. Time to put points into Holy Shield.
Well hope I will get lucky and not encounter any FE ancients.

Im doing alright. I am using crappy gear though. I wish I had runes so I could make some decent runewords. And I wish crafting didnt take p gems. I mean, I would understand that if crafted items were actually unbalanced or something, but the fact that nobody uses them is reason enough to drop down the gem quality. By time I get enough perfs to start crafting, I wont need to.

Say hello to Conquorer Chilly_Ploppy. He made conquorer at level 74. He played at players8 all the way. The Ancients didn't cause any problem. Mana Burn, LE, Spectral Hit those mods don't cause any problems. The WSK were a breeze, I love my Crescent moon War Axe even the CI die fast. My act1 Fire Rouge is doing nice with Twitchtroe, and a Kuko Bow and a rare helm. When she hits level 76 I will put on Windforce on her and see how that goes, I really need fire damage against those CI. The level 10 enchant on my gloves don't do as much as I could hope for. Getting them down to half of their life will go fast but the rest can be a slow fight but I guess I have to wait and see.

Heh. Don't I wish. Bullseye_Baby was just a Conqueror. I'll have to wait a little longer for my first Guardian post. Someday, I promise. :thumbsup:

EDIT: FTR, Pucho really did lose a Guardian. :(
 
Pucho, haven't seen you in a while, tough luck with your recent death. That is not the best way to start playing HC again :scared:

XorceR, I know what you mean about muling off extra equipment before big battles. I try to keep the ammount of stuff I hoard to a minimum and transfer everything to my ATMA stash ASAP.

DX, I lost track of how many active players you have. I need a reference guide or something :uhhuh:
You must have four arms and two computers to play so many characters :lol:

Well SteelsixtyIV I do have a cat who is very good at playing playing diablo2 :lol:

Well I do play mainly with three characters right now two of them are leveling and one is for MF.
My two leveling characters is my freezealot and my javazon, and the MF:er is my IK barb. Sure I got a lot of characters going but don't play with that many of them at the moment.
I will probably play with my freezealot a bit more and after that I will leveling my javazon a bit. I really want her to become guardian so I can use her to find some runes in the cow level.
