Woohoo, another Guardian. Congratulations, DX.

Zelda saw some action on the weekend, and she worked her way through the monastery and the first level of the jail. (maybe I should rephrase that)

She's now level 17, has killed the Smith, and will soon be heading down to fight Andariel.
 
@DX Well done... surviving hell ancients is always scary.

Played way too much this weekend. Cygnet is now lvl 55 and in the NM Flayer Jungle. Man I hate finding all those relics. At least Tele helps with the Flayer dungeon. Found some Lava Gouts and nothing else interesting to report. On to Meph soon.

I am not that far yet, but Randall made Conqueror at lvl 71 this weekend. Now I am on the way to the Pits (now lvl 73).
He is getting close to really revenge MadMan now.

I've been leveling in the pits so far. Each run means ~4 merc resurrections, 1 merc level, ~20% level to me and zero set/unique/useful item. :teeth:
 
Well, time for a little update on LaFuria_Celeste. At her last update she was preparing to face Diablo. It was every bit as difficult as I expected it to be…

The clearing of the Chaos Sanctuary was fairly routine. At the time (in her early 30’s), Celeste had about 5 in Meteor and 1 in Blizzard as her primary weapons. The Blizzard and Meteor handled the CS with no problems, then came the moment of truth. I knew that Celeste’s merc would be immediately toasted with resists all in the mid-fifties, but I had a plan and all I could do was hope. On /players 8 with spells that required Diablo to stand still, and Celeste’s resists nowhere near max, all I could do was hope. I hit the last seal and ran to the middle of the pentagram. Fortunately, what I had hoped for happened. When Diablo spawned, he was facing my merc, so that distracted him just long enough to zap out a few static fields. Sure enough, my merc was down in under 5 seconds, but D’s health had been dropped to just under half. That still left a lot of work, but it certainly was a good start. After that, a couple of “flit, flit’s†(Tele) and I was gone from range. The next ½ hour was spent running D back and forth through a Level 1 Blizzard. Finally, he dropped. He did toast Celeste a couple of times with his Lightning Hose, but no direct hits, and no critical situations.

Act 5 was thoroughly uneventful, and while Baal’s minions, Lister & his pack to be specific, did wipe out my merc a couple of times, Baal was absolutely pathetic. I would estimate that the entire battle with Baal took 20 seconds, if that. A quick Tele to the center aisle was about the highlight of the battle. Not having to be on top of him to Static, I took him to a sliver in no time. That combined with a few pokes from my merc, and 2 Meteors, and Splato. One dead Prime Evil. Baal dropped a Rare Mask which was no good, Rare Antlers which do me no good at all, a useless Rare Studded Leather, a Magic Edge bow, and a Rare Demonhide Sash that is marginally better than the belt I have, but I will use it…mostly for the additional slots.

This one will be called Mr_Ploppy which was the same name as my first one who made it to WSK2 in hell where the gloams was to hard on him. Will make some changes this time no blocking so it will be base dex and no points in energy so there will be alot of points in vita.

He have managed to drag himself to level 15 and is in the inner cloister

I dont think I'm that interested to duel with your guardian. I think I stick to duelling the monsters in the pit and Baal :D

Montgomery, my skelliemancer, is base dex and base energy. The extra vitality has saved him many times. Monty sucks down lots of mana potions when he starts blowing stuff up with CE. It is annoying, but worth the extra health. :uhhuh: He is currently in Act 2 Hell and is in a holding pattern until my Alphabet tourney is over.
 
Ti-ran is now further along in the game than I've ever yet taken a character. After many, many Countess runs--the stage of things where Justy kicked it--she went on to vanquish Andariel, then Radament. There is nothing that neither Frozen Orb nor Meteor can take care of... or at least, there hasn't been yet. (Not sure what I will do when the dreaded FICI situation does arise. Static Field and merc?) The only NDEs have been careless moments while Andariel running, easily remedied with a stab at the full rejuvs.

While browsing the forums tonight I found out that Kelpie Snare, which Andy dropped for me on her first kill, is sometimes employed as a merc weapon even on Hell difficulty. Upgraded, I presume, but wow. I've never owned a long-term useful unique before, except for maybe the two Gulls that went down with my other ladder chars. ^_^ Now I just wish I hadn't wasted my Normal socket quest adding an MF jewel to one of my Milabrega's Orbs, wipe out my sweet Countess-running map though it would at this point--I'd be able to add an Amn or the like to the Snare. Well, that's just further incentive to stay alive, eh?
 
Zarel the skellymancer is resting in the Monastery after running through Tamoe Highland without looking back. Actually Zarel has run since he set foot into the Rogue Encampment and spoke to Warriv.

Last thought in Zarels mind before drifting to well earned sleep was that he has to clear the Tamoe Highlands and search the Pit before trying to find the smithing hammer for Charsi.

Rusull is rolling along nicely. He's collected the staff & amulet, and satisfied Cain by creating the Horadric Staff. Next up the Palace. I've decided that all of my remaining skill points will go into Dire Wolves.

He's still completely untwinked at this point, and I don't anticipate needing to change that plan. I pretty much have my end-game gear - all I'm really hoping for now are jewelry upgrades, and that last excellent jewel for my club...oh yeah & some significant gear upgrades for my merc (his stuff is pretty inadequate right now). Also still doing full clears with no areas done twice.

Frigid_Hoar has started off slow. Sorcs always seem so fragile when they start out. She's reached clvl 15 and just finished the Countess. As always, she's doing full clears of everything. Takes longer but maximizes the xp. She's getting into her stride now that she has FB. Need to find/make some mana regen gear so I can slow down her drinking. Probably do some countess runs and try to make some Stealth armour.

Bachar-Yerian started out like all barbs. Hammered everything in his path and moved on. Pity they can't stay that strong but I reckon that would get boring after a while. Didn't use any skill/stat points until he got to 6. Put a point each into Mace, Bash and Shout. Needed them all anyway, so why not. Currently clvl 12 and on his way to fetch Cain.

Latest Countess run, an idle Countess/Andariel session before I go to sleep, yielded Rockfleece, Tal, Shael, and El. (Andy dropped nothing interesting but another Cathan's Visage, but who's counting?) This pleases me greatly. ^_^ But is Rockfleece useful to a Sorc, do you think, or should I save it for a melee character who'll likely take lots of physical damage?

edit: Retract 'w00t' and replace with 'holy ****', just found my first Aldur's Rhythm. I've been looking for that damn thing everywhere for my BFury Assassin... and now, just prior to Travincal (in the temple on the left), it drops right into her grasp! Mwahahaha... Meph, I'm coming to get ya, ready or not...

Yes I think I will stay at base energy as long as I can. Could be rather frustrating always drinking mana pots. I think I will try to get some +mana charms instead.
