may seem kinda "n00bish" but i have been out of the game awhile....what is a 290?
A small charm that adds 290 poison damage over (I think) 10 seconds. On its own, it's merely a relatively good sc, but the big 'thing' about them is that they were ridiculously duped hundreds upon hundreds of times, and became the illegitimate currency of D2X for a while. I too have been out of the loop for a bit, so I'm not sure how things are now.

I suggest keeping your distance from 290's in general. Anyone who has a inventory full of them may have not hacked them personally but probably traded them from someone who did. Treat them like the plague and if you want to trade stay on the forums and do it.
I know for me the best poison charm i ever got a small charm with 100% damage which i traded for a windforce on rpgtraders.net.
So remember, if you see a 290 here is what you do:
1) :scratch:
2) :lol:
3) :howdy:
4) :bow:
Repeat for 3/20/20s and people with 50 x enigmas.

I dont even play anymore. All I'm saying is that you cant get rich without using currency(except maybe if you pbot all day long).

My '290' does 100 poison damage. I love that small charm, found it about a month ago, and I just debate which one of my chars gets to use it! I love my legit stuff!

Sure you can get rich without being a lamer. I don't bot or deal with hacked items. Hell, I rarely even trade at all, for that matter. I wouldn't consider myself overly rich (ie, I have only one enigma, for instance) but I am certainly well enough off to be able to compete in 8 player hell games with a few characters of mine.
