Skunkbelly's Ultimate Tournament Challenge

Well I have yet to send my character on, but he is ready. I will send him out within the next day or two, just didn't want to overwhelm/pressure the people adjacent to me.

Act 2 character, Quasimodo, already en route to Freekje. He sure became a lot more fun to play once he could equip the Horadric Staff. Speed kills!

Lowell has been sent onward. Wow are some people ever being nice in their builds. I guess it's just up to all of us to survive the bad ones so that they get back to their originators :)

Man Dickinson is a beaut. I'm going to have fun with her :brainiac:

Quick question. I stashed Wirt's Leg thinking we had to pass it on to the next character. Just wondering can I use it or should I pretend I never had it? (Guess this seems like a crazy question huh).

Thanks

You may stash the Leg for the sole purpose of opening the cow level, if you wish to, when you kill Baal. You may not equip it as a weapon (unless you Imbue it in act 1  )

Earlier there was the rule:

OTHER ITEMS/GOLD: You may use any of the following items that you find: charms, socket fillers (gems, runes, jewels), keys, potions (including throwing potions), arrows and bolts, and scrolls/tomes. You may also pick up and use any quest-related items, and any gold you find. You may NOT pick up any other items, not even to sell them. If you accidentally pick up an item, you aren’t disqualified—just drop it when you realize the error.

I thought that Wirt's Leg was a "quest-related item" and so equipping it would be OK. Because my starting character didn't need it, I didn't do this, but I thought it might be a good thing to do as you could get a 3-socketed one and then fill it with chippies in Act 1, for example. Then throw it away and get another one for later use if you find better things to stick into it. Putting chippies in weapons from the 100-item stash has the problem of needing to unsocket later (and Hel is a long way off) to get any more decent use of it beyond the start, whereas with Wirt's Leg, there is an unlimited supply of three open socket ones, with some patience.

So it's moot in my case I think, but it would be great to get a rule clarification on that. Is it that we are allowed to use the leg but not to stash it? I guess perhaps part of the question is whether or not Wirt's Leg is a quest-related item and that may depend upon whether or not you count the Cow King as a quest. Killing the Cow King isn't listed anywhere in the quest screens but you definitely either have completed it or not.

By the way, picking up all those throwing potions to sell them is reminding me of the original 99-item tournament! And I've had a number of interesting drops that I would ordinarily appreciate greatly but that I can't use in this tourney, including some TC3 uniques and sets. Also, so far I've seen at least three copies of items from my original 100-item stash drop.

I stand corrected! purplelocust is correct. You can do whatever you want with Wirt's Leg. Enjoy!

Though it's worth mentioning that there isn't quite an *unlimited* supply of them. You can only pick them up while you're in act 1, or after you've killed Baal and want to run Cows. You can't go for legs while you're in act 2, 3, 4 or act 5 pre-Baal.

Great, thanks for the clarification! I don't think it's much of a factor once characters are out of Act 1 Normal but I can imagine some situations where it may be potentially useful.

Yeah I was lucky enough to pick up a 3-socket one on first pass. Was considering putting Tir's or Res jewels in it for caster weapon.

Thanks for the quick replies.

Two things: First, I forgot to mule off my gold AND mercenary items last character. Second, the character I received had a Manald Ring in their stash. Nothing really to be done, just a good reminder for people to not forget things.

Duriel dropped me a unique ring so i picked it up and ided it. Then i put everything else back into the tournament stash except the ring, i meant to mule it off. Oh well if i remember right it was a really low %. Sorry about forgetting.

I was receiver of said character. Didn't get a reply email. Do you want me to wait for resend, or just delete items and drop gold?

No problem in either of these cases. The easiest thing to do, always, is simply alert the previous player by email that they've forgotten to remove something, then drop the items on the ground or delete them in ATMA... the earlier player can always load up their saved character file and retrieve items or gold that were accidentally passed on.

I received Tennyson... looks terrific, which is a relief.

Gertude-Stein sent on to Butzull. Good luck.
Frost also received. They say what goes around comes around. Well Brak, I really hope Frost comes back to you :-)

If I'm still around for Frost's second lap I'll be incredibly excited.

And how do you know it was me, maybe sirpoopsalot did it?
