Skullders Ire Drop Question

Is it possible for Skullders Ire(unique Russet Armour) to drop from a general boss monster in Act 5 Normal Crystalline passage ?

Short answer is no, they're not a high enough monster for the ILvl of unique russet armor.

I believe The Smith and Griswold in NM are the first ones to be able to drop it

Those two can drop Russet Armours but not Skullder's.
Skullder's is TC51, and qlvl 50. So a monster has to be able to drop TC51 (Gris and Smith are OK here) and also be at least mlvl 50 (which they are not).

As suggested, Skullder's can start dropping from regular monsters around early Act 3 NM, same place skillers can start dropping in fact. NM Fangskin is probably the earliest monster that can drop it, and random bosses after that could too.

[edit] Oops, forgot Radament. He has quite a high mlvl for his location because he counts as a boss monster. So NM Rad is the first, but then not till Fangskin.

Oops, i didnt look up their mlvl since i didnt think it was that far from their TC :uhhuh:

Smith and Gris are bugged in NM to drop from the same TC as their Hell equivalents (up to TC66). However, the bug does not affect their mlvl, so it is not actually all that useful. They can still only drop the same uniques you would expect from creatures at their stage of the game.

They are a decent source of early set items though, as sets typically have very low qlvls (meaning basically mlvl is not important). They can drop Trang Armour, Dark Adherent, Laying of Hands and the smaller IK pieces, for example, which aren't supposed to be available until quite a bit later. Not sure I'd ever actually run them, but they could give you a nice surprise at least.

Soo.. then Radament is also the first possible skiller GC? Or at least a very good GC to reroll...

Yes he's the first one to drop skillers, and there are 4-5 others that can drop them before nm flayer jungle. The monsters in this list with mlvl>50 can drop them : http://mywebpages.comcast.net/tokusanya/Monsters.htm

-but id rather run the jungle for skillers, since theres a bigger chance a gc will drop because of the concentration of monsters there..

Can anyone vouch for the accuracy of this drop calculator on this German site? It lists NM Baal as the highest non-quest chance of a Skullder's drop. I've been using this calc a lot, so if anyone knows about if it's bogus I'd hate to be wasting my time! Thanks
