Skillz Tournament: Get Ready To Play

SuzieQ is doing pretty well. She is now at level 8 and has cleared up to the Cold Plains, and killed Blood Raven. Only thing of interest was a ethernal Rixon's Keen. Gonna play some more tonight.
 
Just a little question the can't run more than 5 times rule, does that apply to every area or only act bosses and super uniques? Would help if you could clarify this.

Also I thought this was untwinked so unless you are lucky enough to find the necessary runes to make enigma I don't think we really need to debate on said item.
 
Sounds interesting enough...I got murdered early in the ABC tourney and still had a blast, so I'm in!

@Spook_Cell: This aplies for every area of the game. For example I have killed blood raven and her minions 3 times (once for quest, two more times for exp) so I can only clear the burial grounds 2 more times. I made this rule so that bosses and areas could be run for exp and items, but would eventually force you to move once and not just level in one area.

@JohnnyBravo: No as long as pierce is a mod on the weapon it is fine, but if it is + to the pierce skill it is not okay. Hopes this clears it up.

@steelsixtyIV: *A really bad imitation of a pirate voice* Har, har, me matey, very funny story indeed!

Yes all characters have to be HC, good luck creating some hell, right now im working on a third Ice Age :lol:

kalex the mauling werebear (unfortuneatly pretty much the only viable build for druids in this tourney) is level 9 right now, gotta go to driving school, cya

Just making sure I understand this. If an item grants a skill above level 12, but also contains a plus to skill we can use, then we can use that item, just not the skills granted that are above level 12.

Correct Paradox, however if the skill above the level 12 set is a passive skill you can't use the item. Welcome to the tourney and good luck! :thumbsup:

my first roll was a 2, but im not a fan of asassins, so i rerolled and got a 1.

I am currently resting after rescuing Cain from Tristram. I am also am havign quiet a good time with my lightning sorc. She can clear large groups of monsters extremely fast even at such a low level and I must say she would be a great MF character if she ever gets far enough to retire (which I doubt). I already found an excellent rare ammulet with resists to each element which should pretty much cover me for norm unless I find a better rare or unique ammulet. A carver in Tristram dropped me Arctic Furs which Staticus quickly slipped on. I had a near death experience in the Cold Plains when a unique fallen shaman (not Bishibosh) his fallen, and a couple of rougues had me down to an inch of my life but I just spammed my lightning blasts and got the heck out of there. Needless to say I came back and made those demons pay...

@Kool69: I think I read somewhere in this thread that we are aloud to mule on/off as long as the character in the tournament has found said items.

Also I believe I read that trading is along among tournament players.

Are these two statements true?


SuzieQ has made it to the Outer Cloister WP. It has been fairly easy going so far even though i'm on players 4. I hoping to find a bow with knockback soon. The ingredients for crafted hit power gloves will take me a while to get. I found Artic Furs which I equiped. The Septic Hunter's Bow of the leech has also been very helpful. Nothing else exciting equiped.

I did find a Clegclaw's Claw if anyone is interested (if we are aloud to trade that is.)
 
@JohnnyBravo: Correct, you can mule off and on your character, but not with items from other chars and you are also allowed to trade.

EDIT: Scratch that, I thought it was a Clegaws Pincers :p
 
The Adventure's of Arch Magess Pandora

Just for an Update: Pandora has frozen and shaddered the hopes and frail bodies of the evil undead and carver monsters that tried to slaughter her on her quest to rid the world of Sanctuary of the the evil that has overtaken it. I reached the Dark Woods with pretty much no trouble, monsters hit me they freeze, I hit them they freeze, so it all works out in the end ;) Only close call was when a champion pack of fallen shamans spawned, a whole crapload of fallen where chasing me everywhere and getting revived as soon as they died. So I used the magic of walls :) let them follow me around the corner and whacked them all and then dealt with the shamans asap. I hope I'm not too late to join in, as this looks like it will be fun, and I've only got the one other tourney character left alive.

Having said that, this week's really bad for me in terms of playing time, so I will only really get going with my new character next week.

Now, which character will I get. My first roll is a 5, a necro. The one class I hate the most (I can't stand watching others do the killing for me). So I'll take the second roll.

The second roll is a 4, a barb. Probably not the best to have, but I'll give him a go (I still prefer playing the girls!). Let's have a look at the skills.

Warcries: Howl (1pt), Find Potion (1pt), Taunt (1pt), Shout (max), Find Item (few pts). No Battle orders :(

Combat Masteries: Sword, Axe, Mace, Pole-arm, Throwing, Spear (max one + Throwing, 0 in rest), Increased Stamina (0 pts). No Iron Skin or Natural Resists :(

Combat Skills: Bash (Max?), Leap (1pt more?), Double Swing (Max?), Stun (Max?), Double Throw (Max). No Leap Attack, Frenzy, WW or Beserk. :(

So I'll have to have a bit of thought as to which skills I will need, but I'm thinking of a barb who will melee and throw, so the object will be to max one of the melee attacks as well as the throwing. I've only really had the one (WW) barb before, so this should be a good challenge.
 
KaleX the mauling werebear is now level 15 1/2 and doing very well, playing on players 8, i reran blood raven 2 times and maxed out rakinushu, and am about to do 4 trist runs (skipping rakinushu of course) i just rescued cain after locating the dark wood wpt, i have yet to find anything shiny, but i gambled a really nice bardiche, with mana leech and like 49 max dmg, among other mods, so im not complaining about my max 124 dmg :D

edit: @mage11 i would highly reccomend maxing axe mastery and double swing, as the axe AND throwing mastery would apply to throwing axes, and and since double throws only synergy is double swing, you could have higher dmg axes on switch for double swinging
