Yes, that's what I expect from Peace for a zon. But I would use it on other builds like my Pally ... there, the valk is just one more distraction, and perhaps a quite powerful one. She won't override any valk I casted by myself this way.

Interesting prospect. Also, if I have understood it correctly, you will gain the benefit of the bonus to Critical Strike even as a non-amazon.

About the runewords: I think all CTC abilities are allowed in this tournament.

Full-clearing the Durance on NM was really a test of perserverance and endurance. We pulled through in the end, with very little danger. There was a Possessed Mauler which Mark didn´t want to tank, so I lured him to a platform where I could trap him. Their pathfinding routine isn´t exactly razor sharp...

Same equipment setup that I had against Duriel was used against Mephisto. Even less danger this time. He dropped two uniques: Rogue´s Bow and the coveted Goblin Toe. It can certainly come in handy.

I had gathered 1.3 million in gold from Upper Kurast and onwards. Now it was time to spend it on bow gambling. Since the monsters in act 4 have significantly more life than those in act 3 (on average) I felt that Isolde was outgrowing Skystrike fast.
Nothing useful from over a million, then I hit the jackpot. No extra speed, no Knockback and no socket on this bow, but lots of physical damage. Since I used two Amn runes to create my 'Strength' Cutlass, I had none left. I had three Thul runes, however, and I always make sure to save some of those important chipped gem types that are needed for the common rune upgrades. I could cube myself an Amn and make the upgrade:

Isolde´s listed damage with Skystrike was 107-463. Havoc Flight´s damage shows up as 214-432, where almost everything can be boosted by Amp/Decrep. Isolde may well be able to stunlock even some big monster types in act 4 if I play well.

No exciting battles for my Summons Druid lately...
Suffice to say, Oberon owned Act 5 NM with relative ease. My dire wolves can tank much better than I would've expected. Much of that credit goes to the Ravens and their blinding assistance, and credit also goes to my level 20 Oak Sage. The merc's life climbed to over 3000 with Oak Sage! He never needed any life leech. Only the toughest packs could harm us, and even then, I simply recast wolves as needed. Plus, I had the Decrep charges for back-up. The security my team provided allowed me to max my MF potential, which peaked at 495% :D for Fazel's kills (95% of the kills), leaving Oberon with 327% for chests and his own kills. I reached those numbers with a Jeweler's Gothic Plate of Accuracy (for Oberon) and a Jeweler's Ancient Armor of Stability (for Fazel); each filled with P Topaz.

Inspired by countless posts of area runs, (most recently, jiansonz's exploits of Tals' Tombs), I'll chip in with a full report of item finds during my p8 full-clear of Act 5 NM. I took great care not to overlap areas between saves, and was very persistent in tracking down every last demon and rock pile/chest. I'm not as thorough as jiansonz in "item-selling efficiency" (he would cringe at the piles of super mana potions and studded leathers I left to rot) but I did ID every magical item and sold everything with valuable mods. Anything worth at least 1,000 gold per inventory space, I sold.

The highlight of my full-clear was a hot spot in the Halls of Pain. I made lots of gold there and scored a rare jewel with +6 min damage and 1-94 lightning damage. My rarest find is probably the Gore Rider War Boots. Nice stats too, perhaps I can work them into my Hell rotation.

@Cormallon -- I like the idea of "Peace" on a Paladin much better than on a Zon, and it's pretty cheap to make. I wonder if you can equip the armor, get hit to trigger a valk, and then change the armor, but still have the valk :lol:

I didn't play much the last few days, I went MFing with my druid inbetween. Nevertheless, Mithuad is still on the hunt for a 3os Thresher and a few items with CB on them. No luck.
 
Wise men say that quantity always turns to quality after certain limit. This time after lots of Mausoleum runs I found myself collecting hardest to beat unique bosses.

Not only Mausoleum alone, even Cold Plains brought tons of fun to me. You know, to get into the Mausoleum to start normal fighting you need to cross the Cold Plains. I did it in extreme style, loading all plus to run speed equipment and using level 9 Bust of Speed then running like Forest without killing. Every time I ran across Cold Enchanted Fanaticism packs and their kin I felt something that made my heart beet faster and forced my to repeat it again and again, praying that a wand with Terror charges and mind blasts could save me in surrounding. Who knows what saved me — this tactic or the luck of mindless brave runners, but I managed to survive all the runs anyhow.

Here is the monsters I met and found the most interesting.

Lightning Enchanted Cold Enchanted Fire Enchanted. Don’t try to handle their sparks or final explosion in Hell! Fortunately assassins can block both.

Fanaticism/Might Enchanted Extra Strong. Possible one-hit killer if he will score critical, even worse if Cursed.

Cursed Fire Enchanted. Stay away from its explosion, they fixed FE bug, not blast! Also note that on the screenshot the boss also is Fanaticism Enchanted. Fanaticism+Cursed is quite nice combination.

Lightning Enchanted Conviction Enchanted. Deadly union. Stay away unless you have Thunder God’s.

Cold Enchanted Physical Immune. Without leech frozen hireling becomes useless. I had to park them until I found how to kill that things using Trang’s gloves and PMH with Venom and fireworks of Shadow.

Calculating the damage of beasts has been my best hobby at the work since I bought Diablo1.
For Mausoleum I got this:

Lister gave me quite a bit of trouble. The rest of Act 5 was pretty easy though. When I got to Nightmare I decided to take every $25k+ item I had in the stash and sell it. Based on the fact that I figured I would have a chance to make it to Hell with some awesome item I would gamble with that money, and otherwise I would be dead. I gambled mostly gloves because the pair I was wearing at the time wasn't exactly great. I gambled my second ever Set Item and just a little bit later (you can see the small difference in my stash amount) my third. Same item too! I am normally not a big gambler but that can't happen too often.

In my last (mini) update I said that I had defeated Andariel and Radament but it turns out I had stopped after Andy and had imagined the whole Radament thing :rolleyes: . :D Nice, huh? Unfortunately I need to find 19 Strength from somewhere before I can use it :( . Priorities for my next session are getting that strength from somewhere, and finding some better equipment for my merc so he doesn't die so often. Some life leech is mandatory I believe.

Well, with only the mastery tree it seems I have enough skill points for at least 2 or 3 different masteries :D

The way I look at it now it will be 5-10 points in Natural resistances and 1 point in all others. I'm not sure about "Stone skin" though, but as far as I know defense is only usefull when you get it really high, so unless I find a good high defense armor it will be a "1 point only skill".

I pick maces as primary mastery, I am thinking of "throwing" as secondary as a ranged alternative. If there will be a third mastery, that will be dependant on end-game weapons I find.

I went throught the Blood More, Den of Evil, Cold Plains and Burial ground yesterday. Everything on P8 right from the start, that's not difficult for a starting barbarian though. Let's see how he and I can keep up with that. I levelled him from 9 to 10 on Bishibosh only, not that he gave me something nice though.

I thought I should kill Diablo yesterday. Yeah, right...
I underestimated the sturdiness of the act 4 monsters, especially the corpse spitters (which I faced both on the Steppes and in the City). Isolde´s new bow is pretty good (if a bit slow), but it was still slow going. By the time I had cleared the City, it was almost bedtime and I was exhausted.

Every monster type except Doom Casters, Burning Souls, some Doom Knights and Pit Lords got the Prevent Monster Heal treatment. It would be unbearable otherwise.

Worst monster by far was a Possessed spawner. I took her over to the one place where it was at all possible to defeat her, the stairs from the previous area. Mark had to tank her there, as soon as I reached the situation where all the babies were behind the spawner (thankfully, they won´t spawn any more if there are 6+ spawns inside their awareness range). Without the Decrepify "cushion", this monster hurt like Hell! More than one NDE here. Yikes.

When I was about to wrap up the last part of the Steppes, I realized I had forgotten about Izual, forgotten to bring my CB equipment to speed up the damage done to him. The next couple of town trips, I checked Halbu for some fast and damaging weapon. Ended up with a Flaming Kris, which got the job done.

I am very curious about my Hellforge rune. WoL wasn´t happy with an Io. That one is pretty high on my wish list. ;)
IMO, the rune from the NM Forge is by far more important than the one in Hell. I mean, if you make it to Hell Hellforge, you already have a capable character...

Really? Actually at this moment the Io is socketed in one of my Bartuc's for healthy +30 life. I found that it is more important that 1-90+ lightning jewel, which was destroyed with Hel. I should put fewer points to Strength and Dexterity and more to Vitality, I have 175 Strength (100 base), 172 Dexterity (100 base) and 280+ Vitality now. Though, it helps with damage and attack rating.

I wish you to find Um or Io!
 
Wow, I'm having a lucky run at the moment :D Since the Buriza I've found a Hwanin's Justice and a Veil of Steel :thumbsup: Found the Dry Hills waypoint as well and now I'm off to bed.

Primal just got swarmed in the Halls of the Dead level 1 foyer. My mercs lack of leech probably ended up being the death of me as he went down within seconds thanks to a swarm of skeletons, a few Unravellers and a cursed Spear cat pack. I found myself blocked off from the stairs and my grizzly couldn't distract all of our enemies so despite my frantic potion guzzling Primal met his end.

I found with this character the only areas where he was in significant danger were inside tomb like areas where movement was restricted. In open areas he was nigh unstoppable with room to manouvere enemies into attacking the Grizzly/merc while I fired from afar.

For me there was only a little amount of time yesterday, I actually had to run through most of the Dark Woods to catch the WP. Treehead Woodfist and the scroll are right next to the WP, so I can collect them the next session.

Guess the curse is real when u lead the tourny you will end up dead...And also in the halls of the dead!! I hate that place when im not playing as a summonmancer....

And you even found the Veil of Steel. Sweet!!! Some very nice items there...
