Shield and Weapon question for 1pt Smiter

Alright, so I am making a 1pt Smiter for Uber Trist(seems like what everyone is doing, lol.), but I am wondering what shield and weapon I should be using. Here is what I have so far:

Helm: Guillame's Face
Chest: CoH
Weapon: Heaven's Light with 2x Shael
Shield: HoZ (not upped or socketed yet)
Belt: Verdungos
Boots: Gores
Gloves: Dracs
Rings: Raven Frost/Cathans (I seriously need a good second ring)
Ammy: Metalgrid (32 Resists)

I am scared that my resists might be lacking and I am curious if I should shop around for a Sanctuary or keep the HoZ and maybe up it and socket it and also if I should go with an Eth Death Zerker, Last Wish, or Grief for weapon or maybe I am geared completely wrong and maybe to need change something up. Just kind of want to get opinions on where I should go from here.

Im kind a new to this... just want to know some things:

1) what do you mean by "Up" the Hoz?
2) What does "Eth" bugged mean in items?
3) Items that "Cannot be repaired" and doesn't have a socket (for a zune rune) are only usefull for hirelings right?

for weapon get pb lastwish (have fade, lifetap) rmb pb lastwish..
for armor fortitude
for belt Verdungos or stringears (15dr)
for shield Eth Vortex Exile
for ammy get highlord/cateye
for ring raven n dwarf (cold & fire abzorb)
for glove Dracu
for boots Gore or goblin toe for crushing blow

with this gear you can uber alone

Uping the HoZ turns it from a Gilded Shield to a Dragonscale Shield upgrading its defense and smite damage.

Some runewords give the Indestructible attribute, so putting it in an Eth item makes it impossible to break plus increased damage.

1) No.
2) Yes.
3) No, a Paladin can still use it. It can get a socket from Larzuk, and a Zod rune can be put in to make it indestructible. Without the Zod rune, it will lose durability until it breaks, at which point it will be useless.

Also: do not link to that site. It is a pay-for-items site, and those are strictly forbidden. You don't want people here assuming you buy items online, it is frowned upon and can get you barred from trading here or banned. Paying money for items is ludicrous and supports bots, so I hope you linked to that site purely because of the image.

Thanks. Can you link a picture of an UP Hoz? Also, how many times can Lazruk socket different items? once? three times? (normal/nightmare/hell)?

Like if i want him to socket my armor in normal, boots in nightmare and gloves in hell. Is that possible?

Crusader226, your gear looks alright, you'll just be lacking in resistances. You can socket the Guillaume's with an Ort/Um, socket the HoZ with a Pdiamond/Um (or use a Griswold's shield with 3 pdiamonds, or a Sanctuary in a paladin shield with good base resistances), stack resistance charms and/or prebuff with Treachery (Fade will add extra resistances).

I'm not much of a fan of upping HoZ for PvM, most of your damage comes from CB anyways so the benefits aren't very noticeable, so if you need to put extra points in strength to be able to use it I wouldn't do it (that's if you decide to keep your HoZ, of course).

Grief or Last Wish (with Kira's instead of Guillaume's for LW) would be a better choice than Heaven's Light, but Heaven's Light will do the job, it'll just take a little longer but I wouldn't worry too much.

Uping the HoZ turns it from a Gilded Shield to a Dragonscale Shield upgrading its defense and smite damage.

It's a Zakarum Shield actually (Dragonscale is the unique version of it), upping a unique changes the base item without changing its stats. An upped HoZ is suggested because the Zakarum Shield (elite version of the Gilded Shield) has a higher base Smite damage, besides higher defense and strength requisites.

Larzuk will give you a socket quest for each difficulty, so you can socket a total of three items for each character (weapon/helm/armor/shield, no other items can have sockets).
