Does runewords like Ice and Pride work in singleplayer or do we have to play b-net to use them?

you can get a mod (RWM) that allows you to make and use B.net runewords, I can't direct you to the spot to get it, but I use it.

Not without the aid of the Runeword Mod. Go find it, or wait till someone provides you with a link. The instructions on how to use it are self-explanatory.
