Run Counter

Anyone have a link to where I can download the run counter from? I know that it's around somewhere, I had it on my old computer which is back home, but I can't seem to find it again. It's the utility that counts how many times your .d2s file is saved to to log how many runs you do.

Hey, thanks a lot jjscud, that one's even better than the one I was asking after :)

@jjscus: I don't know much about programming, but how difficult would it be to incorporate a timer into your run counter? I know remember who (Kefir-Tribe maybe) has a counter that times the runes, but you have to click a box which minizes D2 each time.

His save counter has a timer built into it, but I do have a question jjscud, is it possible to use that save counter on chars that are outside of the original "save" file directory? Because I have trenshadow version switcher set up and would like to be able to time the runs of my .09 chars too.

You don't need a new version of savecounter for this. Just run the version of D2 you want from TrenShadow switcher, the script that runs the other versions sets the path to actual save directory, so when you alt-tab to Windows and run the savecounter, it will access the current version save folder.

My mistake! Last time I downloaded it, it didn't have that feature! gg jjscud!!

The idea is to play in window mode and click when the game is saving and then (quite swiftly) click on the game again. That way d2 doesn't minimize. Still, jjscud's counter is of course better for short runs.

just run it. it increments the counter everytime you save (atma included)

Quick question: I did like 100 meph runs and my average time isn't showing up. Any ideas on why this is?

Off the top of my head, the average time isn't working yet.

In general, I'm really hoping to improve this and make it a really nice program but at the moment I'm being very selfish and my 99 project is taking almost all my d2 time.

Edit: 99 is coming along well enough. Always slower than I would like, I'm at about 3.43 right now so its the home strech.

How are you going on that little project? GL with the last little bit, looking forward to reading the 99 thread:grin:
