Ribcracker Fury Druid - Uber Killer Guide

Re: Ribcracker Fury Druid - Uber Killer Guide

Ok, thanks alot for the responce.

I hadn't realised ribcracker was so cheap, I guess it's the best and cheapest option.

Cheers (Y)

Re: Ribcracker Fury Druid - Uber Killer Guide

Not a problem. Ribby is so cheap mainly because there's only really one build in DII that can make use of it effectively >.>

Re: Ribcracker Fury Druid - Uber Killer Guide

This build rocks my world. Did my 1st Uber run about three weeks ago with some friends. There were two dins (useless chars!!!), a fishmancer and me. We were getting our asses kicked for a good 10mins, probably my fault as I kept pulling to much agro my way (ie more than one of the Ubers). Eventually necro makes the statement "do you want me to cast life tap", to which I replied "wish I had thought about that 10mins, 15Full juvs and 500000 gold ago!!". From that point on it was cake. Dins kepts all the minions at bay while my necro friend kept life tap on & I pretty much destroyed the ubers by myself.

The only thing I'm missing on my build is a Metalgrid and some poison charms, having problems with PI's. Have since started a fishy and must say I miss running around b!@#$slapping everything in sight.

...and because it has no PvP value. Also, it's not that rare, so unlike 3os eth Tomb Reavers, supply exceeds demand as the ladder goes on.

Of Wolf and Man:
Nice to hear another success story. Don't try using poison for PIs, it's pretty useless. Something like a Baranars Star or Azurewrath on switch is much more effective. My PI solution is a Reaper Toll on my merc, but that's just one option.

Re: Ribcracker Fury Druid - Uber Killer Guide

Coming up to completing my ribby druid and i have a few opinions on what to do next...

1. I have a 15% dr verdungo and a 15% dr string of ears, i don't know which one would be more benificial for me atm, i have 135% fhr and i see that the next breakpoint is 280 from 86, so does this mean that this 10% fhr from verdungo is doing nothing for me? As for the string of ears it has 7% ll but this is diminished in hell so is it worth equipping over the verdungo?

2. What grand charms would be better to use, max/ar charms or shapeshift charms? I'm not sure what would have a greater effect, so i don't want to invest my wealth (or lack of wealth) into one type of charm yet.

Thanks for the help :)

Re: Ribcracker Fury Druid - Uber Killer Guide

If going one handed until a ribby shows up, would putting the points in dex worth be using a lightsabre, or is there a faster, less Reqs weapon?

Re: Ribcracker Fury Druid - Uber Killer Guide

Well Maybe a Baranars Star? shaeled will be 70% ias

We should have a thread like "which weapon to use if unable to get upped ribbie.?"

Re: Ribcracker Fury Druid - Uber Killer Guide

Yea, but then the same question pops up. Is putting that many points in str worth using baranars...?

What do you mean by showing up....guys, do you realize that main part of equipment, is basicly cheapest one...i'm sure even if you make game "brg free ribby" someone will show up eventualy, and if you mean on level req, well its not important what weapon you use on normal...
I understand that upping ribby is litlle more expensive, because it requires pul, but pul is any good item, just mf untill you find 1 good item, and trade it for pul, cant be THAT hard.

@Shanra i was testing few days ago ss life over arlife gcs, and skillers win, unless ofc you have big problems with getting ar to aprox 13k

I hope i will try 2night to do ubers myself, for the 3rd time, and hope that this one i will be able to kill them without assistance of hamerdin :(
I saw that i am more then strong enough to do it, and still only problem is baal and minions, but eventualy i will learn how to deal with them.

Re: Ribcracker Fury Druid - Uber Killer Guide

I recently came across a 266% ed non-eth ribby, do you guys think I should up this, or find a better one?

I'm playing on USEast Ladder Softcore, if that helps any.

Re: Ribcracker Fury Druid - Uber Killer Guide

You don't need a perf Ribby to do Ubers.

Re: Ribcracker Fury Druid - Uber Killer Guide

Problem: I can't up Ribs in realms. And I don't do ladder. So is this build useless for me?

Re: Ribcracker Fury Druid - Uber Killer Guide

Oh yeah, hmm. Theoretically you can still do it, it'll just take noticeably longer. I don't know exactly how much longer though.

Re: Ribcracker Fury Druid - Uber Killer Guide

I noticed alot of people having trouble with PI. Gimmershred Flying axe has a heck of alot of elemental dmg and might be a better option then B-Star, it doesnt have the sweet AR bonus, but its pretty slick. Also, I know that with alot of monsters, casting Amp DMG gets rid of the P Immunity. Does this work in Tristy?

One more question: Before I get my hands on Pul to upgrade a cracker, would the use of Windhammer be acceptable? it has the 50% CB. With a base weapon speed of 10, and a 60% IAS would it be the same speed as cracker? or a little slower?

Re: Ribcracker Fury Druid - Uber Killer Guide

Windhammer - Required Strength: 225
you will be sacrificing a lot of Vit to reach that str req...
and upped ribcracker still does more dmg

Re: Ribcracker Fury Druid - Uber Killer Guide

Devatch: I would use a 40% IK maul instead of a Windhammer just to save the socketing quest since it is a temporary item. However, wielding either will require a steep investment in strength that you will have to live with long after you switch to a Ribby (not the end of the world, but something to consider).

Oh, and the Gimmer is brutally slow for a WW Druid, making Baranars star the better choice.

Re: Ribcracker Fury Druid - Uber Killer Guide

Also, if you put 2 Shael runes OR 1 shael + 1 hel OR a 15% ias jewel and a hel rune, you will still get the same speed. I think as long as you get at least 14% (or some number around there, definitely 15% or less) IAS, you'll hit that breakpoint. With a Hel rune I believe the strength requirement is somewhere around 180 - not cheap by any means, but still better than 225.

Re: Ribcracker Fury Druid - Uber Killer Guide

I know this sounds like a tall ask, but does anyone on USWest Ladder have a spare ribby lying around? I was just in a Baal game and dropped my upped, shaeled ribby on the floor, which was obviously snapped up without hesitation. It doesn't have to be upped, or socketed, I'm just now a ribby druid without a ribby :( (just got dracs too :() Any help is much appreciated.

I have a 240ish ED Ribby you can take off my hands. *R1ch13

Re: Ribcracker Fury Druid - Uber Killer Guide

Much appreciated mate, what times are you on? I'm on Aus time, so it may be late for you? Yeah, it was a bugger, I had just got 76 too to wear the Dracs which I had just traded for, was swinging at Baal and checking my char sheet, opened the inventory and by some twist of fate managed to click on the weapon then on the screen. All I can say is that they must have had quick fingers, seeing an ID'd Upped Ribracker "Shael" on the floor :D

Edit: I see you are in QLD, I am in WA and will be home from work at around 8pm your time, will you be on?
