Revives with CB

Any other types besides Urdars? Since arreat summit doesn't even specify that urdars have CB. Mainly wanted to know for revives when dealing with Act bosses.

Re: Revives with CB

I'm pretty sure the only kinds are going to be cousins of the Urdars (which is probably what you already knew): like Gorebellies, and whatever else they are called.

I'm not sure where they can all be found, though. Durance of Hate, River of Flame, Palace Cellars, Act 2 tombs?

Re: Revives with CB

So Urdars and the variation are the only mobs with crushing blow? I thought that these also had CB:

Thorned Hulk (Animal)
Thorned Hulk, Bramble Hulk, Thrasher, Spikefist

Re: Revives with CB

Does the small exploding dolls deal %damage when they die? Or is the explosion just really strong?

Re: Revives with CB

Hi,
I have a slightly off-topic question. You know the powerful lighning wraiths in the worldston keep--when 1.10 first came out they had made a mistake, making the lightning damage actually be physical damage and bypass your armor. At least, that is what was said at the time. If this is so, do you know if it is still the same way? I haven't done the test, but back in the old days the damage they did did not seem to change too much whether I have full 75% lightning resistance or -100% (or whether i have high defense rating or not). Does anyone know? If not, would someone mind doing the resistance check? I will currently die if I do it.

To bring it back on topic, the reason I ask is that I am getting ready to take on the ubers with my build, and it seems that if the bug wasn't fixed, the lightning wraiths are far more worthwhile than the Udars. At least, I can handle getting hit by an Udar just fine, but lightning wraiths nearly destroy me, not to mention they attack far more often.

let me know.

Re: Revives with CB

Lightning resistance does affect gloam attacks. defense doesn't help against any pure elemental attack.

Urdars have crushing blow, that's why they're used. 12,5% of over 100000 is alot more than a gloam can do

Re: Revives with CB

gloam/black soul deal lite damage, I can prove it since after wearing thundergod's, they don't become a problem to me anymore.
i believe Urdars are the only one with CB in the game.

Re: Revives with CB

Gloams are actually very very bad revives. The best ones are pretty clear when against you, anything that hits hard physically or has a lot of HP.

Thorned hulks, Urdars, Frenzytaurs, the Harpy things, Venom Lords...

Re: Revives with CB

Oblivion Knights aren't revivable, and honestly they'd make pretty crappy revives IMO. They have hard-hitting elemental bolts, but that's their only good feature. Their random curse casting more often than not screws over the curses you want on your enemies.

The same can be said for Succubus revives, but sometimes I found myself really needing that Blood Star attack on the frozen river to get at the Succubi and Claw Vipers shooting spells at me from across the river.

Re: Revives with CB

Sadly, they are not (probably for that very reason). Other unrevivables include the leapers in act 2 and the Minions of Destruction in the WSK.

but know that OKs has iron maiden which can be really useful when facing single tough bosses. My merc is not afraid of anything by OKs now just for that reason. :coffee:

Re: Revives with CB

Yeah, I just found out the gloam bug. I was misinformed. Turns out the gloam's mana steal was incorrectly programmed to be tagged on to lightning damage. While this makes for a lot of lightning damage (around 300 avg), it will still be nothing against bosses etc. unless you have conviction and lower resist. Since I am a physical-damage focused necro, i will stick with the urdars .

Have you ever used iron maiden yourself?

In hell, monsters (including bosses) can take lots of damage and inflict little damage
In hell, players (and mercs) can take little damage and inflict lots of damage

That's why no necromancers use iron maiden, while iron maiden is devastating when used against yourself.

Also, necromancers have iron maiden themselves anyway if they would want to cast it.

OK my bad, I didn't notice that before. All i notice is when my merc dies there is always an OK around.
