Required level for elite items

I could only find the ilvl on uniques on D2.net. Many item pages are outdated, it's been messy. Is there are link to a page with the ilvl on all items?

Thanks in advance.

Edit: will difficulty level or act affect items other than by having monsters with different levels?

Difficulty and act has no effect on the items that can drop.

EXCEPT that in nightmare and hell, monster levels aren't used in most cases --- area level is what counts. That's why a fallen from hell a1 "The Pits" can drop more stuff than his brother living in hell a1 "Bloodmoor" --- the area levels for these maps are different.

However, the question is rather pointless --- there is no way to move monsters to different acts or other difficulties. Also, dragging monsters through the aboveground maps into higher level maps (like from Bloodmoor into Barracks) doesn't affect them (to my knowledge), since they spawned in the lower level map, and will drop according to that.

Still didn't get it

Well, what is TC and qlvl in that document? I am interested in finding what elite items can already drop in a certain area and what will be its ilvl. I am trying to get items with ilvl low enough so as to use the socket quest to get less than the maximum sockets available for that item.

That list of TCs and qlvls is only for uniques. Don't worry about it if you are after socketable items.

ilvl (item level) is a number that describes where you get an item from. If it is dropped by a monster, the ilvl will be equal to the mlvl of the monster that drops it. The mlvl of a monster is equal to the level of the area you it in, unless the monster is a boss or boss minion (gets a +3 bonus) or a champion (+2).

Because elite items tend to be dropped only from late NM onwards, they will typically have ilvls well upwards of 50.

Now, the socket quest always gives you max sockets for an item. However, max sockets depends on the ilvl of the item as well as the type of item it is. Most sites though only list the highest max socket value (there are usually three), which applies to items of ilvl 41+. Unfortunately for what you want, socketable elite items will pretty much always be ilvl 41+, so they will always have the highest max socket value and get that many sockets from Larzuk.

As for which elite items can drop where, that is not simple to answer. Base items depend on TCs, not monster levels. The earliest elites are TC60, but most of the elites people care about (ie not Truncheons or Giant Conches) are up in the TC75+ area. The highest TC that a monster can drop slowly increases as you go through the game, but I am not going to list every item type and where it can drop here. If you want to be more specific maybe I can help.

thank you for your help, Thrugg. I was looking for a zerker axe to make a Doom runeword on it. People have been trading them for some kinda high runes, and I found the price too high.

However, I had an old Honnor axe made on a zerker axe too. I, thus, used the Hel + tp + socketed item to remove those low runes and used that same axe. I don't need help anymore, then.

But well, so you mean uniques and minions have the same level in nightmare and hell difficulties? I though uniques were higher level.

mlvl of regular monsters = area level
mlvl of champions = area level +2
mlvl of bosses and their minions = area level +3
