question on upping dmg eth / titans

I have two pairs of titans. One is an eth pair of titans thats 168% ed. Another is a regular pair of titans but it's 199% ed. Which one will have more damage upped? which one will have more market value?

can you list the dmg on both? for the 2nd question ... for market value the eth titans would most likely be better.

Sure-

Ethereal Titans- 168% ed

97-267 throw damage
97-189 one hand damage

Titans - 199% ed

78-211 throw damage
78-154 one hand damage

from these numbers the eth is clearly a winner, but im not fully sure how the upping process works, will it increase the amount of damage on each the same? Probably eth titans will be the answer, but i thought the 199% is one away from perfect and that would have an effect on it's market value and what not. So explain? ps. thanks for the quick answer

also, for the eth titans i traded an arm of king leoric. was this a fair trade? I thought it was well on my side, but after the trade i asked him honestly what did he think and he said it was to his favor, the arm is worth more according to him? USEast price guide on this forums rates arm as a lem.

upp'd, the eth titans will do better dmg i am sure of that but i dont think you should waste the runes on that because of the low ed.

to be honest, regardless of "realm prices" and such what it really comes down to is if you thought you had the better deal or if you found the item as a necessity at the time. Thats why many people have been given good deals. Because they have been patient and have found those people in desperate need of the item they have.

so your saying i should keep trading / waiting for a better ed eth titans? i mean i can probably get a pul and stick it in. Would that real be a waste? it looks like the 168 eth titans still do more damage then a 200 ed normal titans, so wouldn't it still be a better choice?

about the need, yea your probably right

also, the eth titans have 8% leech too. Thats perfect right? my 199titans only have 7% leech.

Yea thats xactly what im saying. you should keep trading more but wait until its the right moment i guess. I can remember many times where i traded something and then a few days or even hours later i see a game giving way more for my item then what i traded it for. That is what seperates the wealthy and decent players in the game i think. Its crazy how d2 can relate to real life lol.

also, i guess your right, the upped eth titans would be better than the norm.

If you can use the Pul and not be very sad you did it, I'd say upgrade it. The lowest eth titans is always better than the highest non-ethereal.

Eth titans are important for jab or fend, if you don't use any of these much, they're not THAT important. Anyway, since your ED% from the skill (jab, fend) will act on the weapon's BASE damage, it's good that you use a eth titans.

The maximum leech is 9%.

+ after upgrading your (eth) titans u get higher melee dmg so you'll leech more

i noticed a big difference after using upped titans for a minute in mana cost/leech :D

Non-Ethereal Titans Revenge Matriarchal Javelins @ 198% ED:

Throw: 129.3 - 246.68
Melee: 114.4 - 210.92

Ethereal Titans Revenge Matriarchal Javelins @ 168% ED:

Throw: 165.7 - 315.32
Melee: 145.6 - 267.08

First off, you literally stole the titans from the idiot, king leoric doesnt even have value as its extremely common.

Secondly, thank you Dahmer.....the replies above sound like people who have never used eth up titans, this is the best versus monster javelin.....maybe a jabberzon could argue eth demon but that would take some convincing.....you will not be able to easily find higher ed unless you are a very active trader or your freinds run bots, for that matter 168 is not that low and will probably be over 300 one hand max damage after upgrade. To me the most effective zon plays with a vampiric approach or emphasis on leech, enough so that continuous attack is possible i.e. your red and blue bulbs remain full in during battle, especially when fighting mobs. Both ladders I have paid gul for eth titans, before upgrading, granted this was at the beginning of ladders but what I'm trying to say to you is that you have the best item in the game for your character do not trade it especially not for a worthless lem, upgrade it already and dont look back, be happy with that trade, anyone out here have eth titans they want to trade, I have assolads of lems....add a might merc and you willl no longer experience leeching difficulties even if only equipped with a minor source of leech, say a 5/5 dual ring.

to say that eth titans are not THAT important is correct, u can create a very good zon with normal non up'd titans, but u want to be great don't you?

Awesome trade Dude, if you played on USWest I would play with you and show you how to lay wastelands of monsters with that item.....best upgrade in the game!

I'd use the non-eth, unless you are PvP. Being able to quick repair is much better than a little more damage IMO.

but its not just a little more damage so......I dont really follow this......its like 50 weapon. maybe if you played as strictly an LF bombing lighting zon but if you're looking to play the whole game with your zon you most likely have an alternate attack of at least close to similar killing potential if not more given the situation. I dunno I still think you guys are idiots if you dont use eth up titan given the opportunity......? here get your eth titans, one arm of king leoric or I mean free......
